some picture, some vocabulary cards and one tape-recorder

五.Teaching steps:
Step 1.Organizing the teaching
1.Greetings
2.Sing an English song.
Step 2. Revision
1.Review “begin” with a question and answer drill.
Ask the Ss to respond with a time or a date.
Ask questions such as:
When does school /the spring Festival/ summer holiday/ English class/ lunch time begin
2.Play a game to review “early” and “late”.
V:When does ___(school, lunch time, English class)begin
S:At ____.(time indicated by volunteer)
V:(Point to the other volunteer)Is he/she early or late
S:He/She is early/late.
3.Review “something” with “I see something”.
Step 3.Key concepts:
1.Introduce:
a.Use vocabulary cards to demonstrate“cake” “cookies” and “ice cream”.
b.Demonstrate “sugar” with some real sugar.
Sugar is an important part of cake, cookies and ice cream.
c.Role play to demonstrate “something”.
2.Student book :
a.Play the audiotapeas the Ss follow in their books.
3.Practice:
a.Play game to practice the following vocabulary:
flour, salt, oil, pork, cabbage, onions, peas, cake, cookies, ice cream and sugar.
b.Divide the class into small groups.
Ask each group to make up a dialogue about making cookies.
While they are making cookies, “Someone comes to the door. Who is it and why ”
六.Students’ activity:
1.Sing an English song.
2.Question and answer drill.
3.Play “Spell bee” to review the vocabulary cards.
4. Imitation for the dialogue.
5.Group work to practice the dialogue.
