What is “Syllable”

定义：
音节是英语单词基本的发音单位。任何英语单词的读音，都能分解为一个或几个音节进行发音和朗读。
Presentation
音节的划分
英语的音节划分是按照元音来划分的，简单来讲，有一个元音就有一个音节，辅音辅助元音形成音节。
根据英语单词中元音的个数，
分为单音节（1个元音）如：/fa:st/
双音节（2个元音）如： /sist /
多音节（ ≥3个元音) 如：/k l f l/

音节划分的规律
1、一归后：指当两个元音字母之间只有一个辅音字母时（r除外），通常将这个辅音字母划分在后面的音节里。
如a/go，Chi/na，ma/ny，a/bi/li/ty。
元音+/辅音+元音
2、二分开：当两个元音字母之间有两个辅音字母时，一般把它们分开，一边一个。
如：af/ter， cor/ner
sum/mer，bet/ter，com/mon
元音+辅音/辅音+元音
3、辅音连缀不分开：辅音连缀不分开，必须划在一个音节里。如pr/tr/dr/fl/cl/sp/sw/scr等，不能分开，一般划归后面的音节。 如：
如a/gree，re/flect, in/stant
4、字母组合手牵手：
（1）辅音字母组合划分音节时不能分开。
如： tea/cher, fa/ther
（2） 如果两个元音字母组合或者一个元音字母和一个半元音字母构成的组合发的是一个单元音或双元音，划分音节时，不能将其从中分开，要划在一起。如：trou/sers voy/age tow/er
5、双字相连不连手：
英语里的合成词，如how/ever ， birth/day work/shop等，原始的两个单词一般分开发音；若两个单词的头尾相连字母是字母组合或辅音连缀，仍然要拆开发音。
如restroom中间的tr,不能发[tr]。
6、前缀后缀独自走：
前缀或后缀单独划分音节。 如：
dis/like ，pass/a/ble fall/ing ，happi/ness，su/per/man, in/ter/net
hea/vy , at/tach , com/pare,treat/ment，bar/ber, mo/ther, cot/ton, noo/dle,op/po/site, ba/ke/ry,at/ten/tion, class/room

辅音字母+le结尾，应看做一个音节。
音节是读音的基本单位。音节的核心是元音，元音可单独构成音节，也可以与辅音一起构成音节。
两个辅音字母之间不管有多少个元音字母，一般都是一个音节。
不可拆分的字母组合：th, sh, ch, tch, ck, cr, pr, bl, fl等。
