Unit 2 His name was Louis Braille.
教学内容:
New Standard English, Book 8 Module 9 Unit 2
教材设计:
本单元旨在学习Louis Braille的生平,并结合本模块新知学会介绍人物的事迹。我根据本班学生特点,以及本课内容,通过直观教学法、TPR教学法等手段完成本单元目标。本课的设计中,我要求学生通过表达、询问、解释、沟通等多种语言活动形式来完成任务,同时注重英语中听、说、读、写各项基本技能的训练;英语课程标准强调重视学生实际语言运用能力的培养,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式,在自主探究与合作交流中学习和运用语言。
在教学中我着眼于学生语言运用的培养,采用激励性评价、师生评价、生生互评等多元性评价方式,在教学活动中充分激发学生的求知欲和表现欲,实现教学过程的最优化。
一、Teaching aims
1. 语言知识目标:
(1) 学会用what, where, why, who, how等疑问代词提问。
(2) 学会模仿课文谈论自己,以及自己的偶像和模范人物。
2. 语言技能目标:
通过本课的学习,培养孩子听、说、读、写的能力,培养孩子自主学习、能动学习、开拓学习的能力和综合运用语言的能力。
3. 文化意识目标:
增进对国内外模范人物的了解,培养孩子的跨文化意识。
二、 Key points and Difficult points:
1. Key points:
学会用what, where, why, who, how等疑问代词提问。
2. Difficult points:
扩展新、旧知识,运用what, where, why, who, how,how old等疑问代词提问。
三、Teaching aids:
Tape, tape-recorder, PPT, some old photos
四、 Teaching steps:
I. Warm-up.
a. Listen to a song:“Humpty and Dumpty”
b. Greeting.
c. Introduce yourself.
T: Show a picture to the Ss. And introduce to the Ss.
T: What about you Can you tell us something about you
(请个别学生站起来进行自我介绍,以复习上节课could 和couldn’t的用法。)
d. Describing Helen Keller’s life. (请学生描述Helen Keller的一生,复习对课文掌握的情况,为学习本课铺垫。)
E.g.
Helen Keller was born in America in 1880. When she was a
child, she became blind and deaf, she couldn’t see and hear…
Could you tell us something about Helen Keller (请个别学生说,一人一句。尽可能将机会让给程度中等或中等以下的学生。)
Describe Helen Keller’s life.
(请程度较好的学生,简单地叙述Helen Keller的一生。)
II. Presentation.
a. 出示Louis Braille的图片,并出示课题。
T: As we know, Helen Keller was blind and very famous. Today, I will introduce another famous blind man to you. (出示Louis Braille照片。)
T: This man was blind. He was born in France in 1809. He became blind in 1812. Do you know who is he
Ss: Louis Braille.
T: Yes! His name was Louis Braille.
(师板书课题: His name was Louis Braille.)
b. Teach the text.
(1) Listen to the text.
T: Please look at the big screen, and listen to the tape carefully.
Ss: Listen to the tape. (学生听录音一遍)
(2) Listen and find the answers.
T: Show the questions to the Ss.
What was his name
When was he born
Where was he born
What happened to him?
What did he learn to do
Why is he famous
Ss: Listen to the tape again and try to find the answers of the questions.
(3) Ask and answer. (生看问题回答。)
(4) Task 1:
Interview your partner about Louis Braille.
同桌之间进行问答练习。
(5) Task 2:
Describe Louis Braille’s life.
小组合作,不带书上台,每组需有2名或两名以上组员参加。
个人展示。
III. Practice.
Task 3:Talk about a person.
T: Talk about a singer, then get the Ss to guess who is it.
五、Homework:
1. Write a simple story about Louis Braille.
2. AB Page 32/1, 2, 4.
3. Use “When, What, Where, How” to interview your parents or friends.
4. Preview Module 9 Unit 1.
教学反思:
本课主要目标为模仿课文,介绍自己熟悉的人物的生平。学生通过对课文Helen Keller的复习,对Louis Braille生平的学习,学会了如何描述人物的事迹。本课最后一个活动环节为介绍一个自己熟悉的人物,从学生活动情况来看,要简单介绍一个人物,对学生来说不是难事。可见课前的铺垫、复习是有效的,学生对新课知识的掌握是扎实的。但在学生描述过程中,个别学生会混淆be动词的用法,在今后的活动中应该多注意这方面的训练。
