To encourage the students to have open mind and eyes in their daily lives

1. Phrases: be afraid of; learn about; know about; the other day; at the same time, etc.

Teaching Procedures
Designing aims
Step1: A guessing game
Play a guessing game with the students, let the students guess what animals they are.
在轻松的游戏氛围中,使学生尽快融入到课堂中来。
Step2:Listening
1) Present the phrase “be afraid of” after the game, and finish the listening exercise in Part A1;
2) Look at the note in Part A2, tell the students try to predict what to fill in the blanks. Talk about the animals with the pictures in Part A1. After it listen to the tape and finish the note.
利用图片,扫除在后续听力中可能出现的影响学生做题的障碍。并在此过程中,教给学生在做听力前预测的技巧,提升学生做听力的能力和水平。
Step3: Practice
Let the students listen to the tape again and do T or F exercises;
Finish the thank-you letter in Part A3, and practise the structure “It is + adj. +that-clause”
通过进一步提升听力要求,训练学生的听力水平,指导学生关注细节的能力。适当练习关键的句型结构。
Step4: Presentation
Present speak-up with a short video, ask and answer some questions about the video and explain some main phrases in the dialogue.
以视频导入新内容,在增加学生的兴趣和直观印象的同时,解释部分学生难以理解的知识点,为后续的对话教学做好良好的铺垫作用
Step5:Speak up
Listen to the tape of the dialogue in this part and fill in a form;
Let the students practise similar dialogues in pairs and try demonstrate in front of others.
