Pre-task Sing a Song Rainbow Song 《Raindrops keep falling on my head.》2.Talk with kids to elicit “rainbow” To set a relaxed atmosphere at the beginning of the lesson.
While - task The beginning of the storyNew word: boast Guess why Mama rainbow is sad.boast: Read and practice Arouse kids’ interests to know about the story.
The part of colour brothersSentence pattern: the best … of … Listen to how all the colour brothers boast about themselves.Answer some questions about the dialogue.Learn the sentence pattern by using it, imitate the character and read a chant. Talk about all the words that colours have boasted about.Do a match and sing a song about rainbow. To practice kids’ listening skills and help them to get a general idea about the story.Develop kids’ speaking abilities.To encourage students expressing their own opinions.To check their understanding.
6. Read the beginning of the story and the part of colour brothers. To enjoy and feel the story.
The end of the story Listen to the end of the story.Try to help kids to understand the meaning of mama rainbow’s words.Read the last part, enjoy the story and get to know “ Appreciate and love others. Through the end of the story, teacher helps kids know that people shouldappreciate and love each other.
Post-task Appreciate your friend. 1. Learn to appreciate classmates by trying to say: Kitty is the best singer of the class.2. Listen to the song《Rainbow connection》and feel about “appreciate and love others” again. Learn to appreciate others by appreciating their classmates first.
