Warming Up and Reading
整体设计
教材分析
Warming Up is to tell students how different kinds of food are grouped. This is important as it enables us to talk about the value particular foods to our health. We want students to apprieciate what a balanced diet is. Too much fatty food means they will store extra energy in their bodies. Too much body-building food may cause problems for digestion and lead to illness unless enough fibre foods are eaten to aid digestion. The teacher can have a free talk with students ,let them work in pairs to read through the chart and discuss the questions.
Pre-reading contains two more general questions about food for students to discussion. Students can be encouraged to discuss these questions in pairs.Then they are asked to looked at the title of the reading and the pictures to predict what the passage is about.This part is very useful for the next part Reading.

教学过程
Task 1. Listen and try to get the main idea.
Wang Pengwei and Yong Hui serve different diet in their restaurant . The foods in Wang Pengwei’s make people fat. while the foods in Yong Hui’s make people thin.
Task 2. Read and judge the statements
1.Usually Wang Pengwei’s restaurant was full of people.
2.He provided a balanced diet in his menu.
3.Yong Hui served a balanced diet.
4.Yong Hui could make people thin in two weeks by giving them a good diet.

diet=limited variety or amount of food that a person is allowed to eat限定的食物种类或数量;限定食谱.
Too much a diet is not good for you.
节食,限定某人的食物

Diet 指的是日常饮食或限定的食物,尤指维持健康的定量或定质的食物,通常为可数名词;food是一般用语,凡能吃喝的有营养的东西都可称为food,通常为不可数名词,但涉及食物的种类时可用作可数名词.
