Unit 2 Lesson 11 Tian’anmen Square
General Goals for Unit 2
In this unit, Li Ming, his mother, Jenny and Danny see Tian’ anmen Square and the Palace Museum, and they go shopping at Wangfujing. This unit reviews words to describe actions and people, and adds new describing words and new action words to the students’ vocabulary.
Specific Goals for Unit 2 Mastery Vocabulary
Students can read, write, say and aurally understand the following vocabulary:

一、Suggestions for review
· To review parts of the body the students mastered in Level 1(arm, body, ear, elbow, eye, finger, foot, hand, head, knee, leg, mouth, nose, shoulder, stomach and toe). Use commands such as:
(Simon says) put your hand on your ear.
(Simon says) touch your nose.
(Simon says) put your elbow on your knee.

三、Introduce
· Demonstrate “loudly” and “quietly” with your voice. Point out the difference between “I am loud/ quiet ” and “I am ing loudly/ quietly.”(You can sing, cry, laugh or talk loudly and quietly. You can walk loudly by stamping your feet on the floor.)
四、Practice
All girls talk quietly.
Everyone talks quietly.
All men sing loudly.
All children stand up.
Everyone sits down.
All women laugh loudly.
五、Use the activity book
· Number 1 in the activity book is a listening exercise on the audiotape as follows:
Listen. Do the words match the pictures Draw a happy boy or girl for yes. Draw a mad boy or girl for no.

e. This is a woman.
· Number 4 in the activity book is also a listening exercise on the audiotape as follows:
Listen. Fill in the blanks.
a. The people are standing quietly.
b. The women are laughing loudly.
c. The men are sitting quietly.
d. The children are running quickly.
e. I can speak English! It’s easy!
f. Can you play ping-pong I cant’ t ! It’s hard!
g. I can talk slowly. I’m talking slowly now.
h. Shhhh! Now I’m talking quietly.
i. Now I’m leaving. Good-bye!
