一、说教材
新课程标准突出了语言作为文化载体的功能,要求学生通过学习语言来了解整个世界。本册课本作为初中最后一册就是通过大量的阅读来呈现世界上的先进的科学文化知识和不同国家的文化习俗,其中第三单元和第五单元讲的就是文化习俗。
第三单元8课共有6篇短文、1首歌和两封电子邮件,第二十三课是一封电子邮件。单元的倒数第二课,通常都是对全单元主要内容进行总结回顾的阅读课,特点是阅读量大,生词量小,没有特别需要注意的语法。
所以,我觉得本课的重点有两个:一个是单词单词trouble,另一个阅读任务。难点是讨论如何处理李明收到的礼物,因为这是一个开放性的话题,如何处理得好,可以很好地激发学生的创造性思维,处理得不好学生的答案会很单一,甚至有可能会冷场。
至于教材的处理,我是在原课文强调阅读的基础上加了一个听力训练和两道题型训练,以增强的实战能力。而原课文的Let’s do it!这一部分要求学生写一篇短文,内容限制太紧,不适合发挥学生的想像力,所以改成了一个开放性的话题用来讨论。
二、说学生
在前五册课本中学生接触过一些简单的关于中西文化差异的知识点,在本单元的前面几课也已先后了解了中国和西方国家在购物、就餐、格言、姓名、礼貌用语方面的差异,为今天的这节总结性的阅读课做好了准备工作。大约70%的学生能在规定的时间内完成阅读任务,并在教师的指导下和组内同学的帮助下完成听力和讨论任务。
课文的叙述者李明的叙述口吻符合我们的学生的心理特征,真实地反映了他们在遇到这种情况时的所思所想,修改后的Let’s do it!这部分也将提高学生应用语言的能力和兴趣。
三、说教学目标
本课主要的认知目标很简单,就是要求学生掌握trouble这个单词的意思及用法。此外也只有两个单词,只供了解。因为本课的主要任务是阅读,所以要达成的能力目标就是通过阅读来获取信息以完成阅读任务,而情感目标是了解不同国家的文化之间的异同。
四、说教法、学法
本课采用的是任务型教学方法和探究合作式学习方法。初三的课文容量都比较大,采用任务型教学方法的优点是高速、快捷,有利于把握全课的重点,可以很快地实现本节课的教学目标。我给学习布置了三个任务:听力、阅读和讨论。
探究合作式的学习方法是新课改提倡的方法,因为这种学习方法要求团体合作,既可以提高效率,又可以让不同层次的学生形成知识互补,充分调动全体学生学习的积极性,激发学生的创造性思维。
五、说教学过程
这节课的导入比较难。虽然整个单元都讲的是中西文化的差异。但内容上没有直接的联系,除了这单元的第一课也就是十七课,但这两节课相距太远,学生如果没有在教师的提示下复习课文就很难在课堂上一下子想起来这节课的内容。我最终决定的处理方式就是事先提醒学生复习十七课。
第二个课堂环节是教学新单词。这节课新单词很少,只有四个,重点单词只有trouble一个,很好处理。
第三个课堂环节是听力。本课的主要任务是阅读,但因内容简单,适合进行听力训练,所以我设计三个填空题。
第四个环节阅读理解要求学生小组合作,快速阅读并回答三个问题。
第五个环节是小组讨论。课本上的安排是要求学生写一篇日记、电子邮件或信,内容是你到别人家去做客,但觉得不自在,你认为是什么原因。这个题目对于学生难度过大,而且内容限制太死,所以改成了小组讨论,“如果你是李明,你如何处理这盒薄荷糖?”,这个话题正好和课文正文衔接上,过渡起来也自然点。
后面的两环节是练习题,介词填空和动词的适当形式填空。这节课出现了两个新短语,还有前面已经接触过的短语,涉及到介词的运用。没有出现新的语法知识点,但有个别句子还是需要注意一下,所以我设计了一道动词的适当形式填空,题的原型都是课文中的句子,难度适中。
最后是总结和课后作业,向学生再次强调今天学过的新短语并且要求学生在课后用这些短语造句。
