Description of the class Grade 4 primary pupils with a class of 50 pupils

Teaching Objectives(aims) 1. Pupils are able to listen and say the dialogue of this lesson and use the key sentence.2.Pupils are able to pronounce the new words correctly and know the words meaning:rice fish beef soup noodles vegetable juice bread milk chicken hot dog hamburger

Teaching methods or Teaching aids Twelve pictures, two pares, some word cards
Teaching steps:Step 1: Warming-up(1 min)Sing a song of “Let’s have a picnic today”. (Listen to the tape and sing it together once )Step 2: Presentation(22 min)a) Lead-in Ask the pupils some questions: T: Look at the blackboard. There are so many foods and drinks. Do you like it Ss: Yes.T:What do you like (解析句子意思)Ss: I like……(教师先让学生用中文回答)b) Show a picture. 教师接着问:Do you like rice 学生回答。 Teacher shows the card “rice” and reads: rice↗, rice↘. 来传授新的单词。c) Stick the card on the blackboard and write down the new word.d) Students read after the teacher several times of the new word. (The teacher could teach some pronouncing rules to help the pupils to memorize them).f) Use the same way to teach the other words: rice fish beef soup noodles vegetable juice bread milk chicken hot dog hamburger. (教师把刚才学过的新单词用单词卡片重新复习了一次,然后纠正了一些单词的发音.)g)Play a game让一位学生站在教室前面,将自己喜欢的食品的卡片放在背后,大家猜他喜欢的是哪种食品。猜的学生说:“Rice”,如果没猜中,站在前面的学生说:“No .”如果猜中了,站在前面的学生说:“Yes .”猜中的学生站在前面,大家继续猜。(时间允许的情况下)h) 教师做饥饿状:I’m hungry. Can I have some rice, please 让学生听懂之后,到黑板上取下相对应的图片给教师:Sure. Here you are. 教师说:Thank you.i) The teacher write down these new sentences on the blackboard and with the answer,让学生使用所学的新单词,模仿着来做这组对话。Step 3: Dialogue practice(12 min)Let the pupils listen to the tape with dialogue. Read the dialogue with the teacher three times and tell the pupils how to use the key sentences of “What would you like ” and “I’d like…”Let two groups of pupils act a dialogue using the sentences of “What would you like ” and “I’d like…”Finish the practice教师拿出闹钟,并把闹钟调到早上六点,教师问:T:It’s 6 A.M. My reflections after class: After I taught today’s class, which is the important class for me to found out the shortage. At the beginning, the students were too shy to answer my question so that the class was too boring. I encouraged them to answer my question and I would give them apples. Quickly, the monitor stood up to answer my question and other pupils’ motivation increased greatly. The class was full of fun and laughs and both children continuously and will try to give more positive feedback to them in my teaching afterwards.In the class, I spoke loudly that my students could hear me clearly. Tell the truth, the funny time was the students play the game. I know that it’s important to make the class lively and instructive. However, I still had some shortages, such as how to control the time of class and how to acquire knowledge out of class. Anyway, this is the first public show in my teaching career and it is indeed an unforgettable experience. Thanks all the head teachers to listen my class.
