万圣节的由来传说在2500年前，有一群居住在英国北部的民族，叫做凯尔特人，他们认为每年的十月三十一日这天晚上，是所有死去的人的灵魂回到人类世界的日子。
这些灵魂当中，有的是好的灵魂，但也有一些是由死神所带领的坏灵魂，他们跟随死神来到人类的世界，想要杀掉人类来当替死鬼。凯尔特人为了要吓走坏的灵魂，并指引自己亲人的灵魂回家，家家户户都在门前挂上一盏灯火，这个习俗后来传到了美国，改成由他们所种植的南瓜来做成南瓜灯。为什么要挂南瓜灯？因为天黑了以后，有些凯尔特人为了办理事情，不得不离开家到外面去，为了不要让死神认出自己是人类，就把自己打扮成鬼魂的样子，后来就变成了现在的化装舞会。为什么会有化装舞会？后来到了大约四十年前，美国人开始在十月三十一日晚上，举行“不招待，就使坏”的活动，小朋友们成群结队到各家去要糖果，如果主人忘记准备糖果，小朋友们就可以想办法惩罚主人。万圣节的习俗Questions Why is Eddie so happy ?
