第一课时
  教学目标
  1.学会问路以达到购物或办事的目的。
  2.学会为他人指明方位以达到帮助他人的目的。
  教学过程
  一、导入:
  教师可以使用学生熟悉的生活用品图片。上课时,教师先问:What’s this What’re they 让学生快速回答。我们可以选择下列图片shampoo,magazines,dictionary,writing paper,some stamps等等。
  教师要对一些新单词进行解释。接着问学生:Where can you do the following things 例如:buy shampoo,get some magazines,make a telephone call,get a dictionary,get some information about the town, buy some writing paper,buy some stamps,save money等,让学生举手回答,
  说明:可能学生会有多种多样的答案,我们要鼓励学生踊跃发言。让学生在轻松的气氛中进入最佳的学习状态。
  二、介绍:
  介绍目标语言:Can you tell me where the main office Could you tell me how to get to the library
  Ask students to pretend they are new to this school.Say,you need to ask teachers and other students where to fine places like the library.Let’s practice some polite ways to ask for the library.Let’s practice some polite ways to ask for information.
  板书: Can you tell me where the main office is

  (二)Ask students what other places they might need to find.Write the names of these places on the board.用对话的方式引出更多的问路表达。
  (三)Ask different students to ask politely how to find these places.Practice both the “Can you tell me where…’’and the.“Could you tell me how to get to…”forms.
  三、教学
  或者利用农远工程教学网中学资源07-08上学期中的学习指导中学英语人教课标版9年级Unit11的多媒体课件中的图片、动画和人机交互自测程序进行以下教学活动。
  (一)学生看SectionA -1a的内容,让学生说出每一个地方的名称,老师问一个学生:“what kind of places is this What do they sell there Do we have one in our community ”学生按照 1a的要求进行练习,学生练习时,老师巡视课室,检查学生的进展,帮助有需要的学生。
  (二)1b首先帮助学生明确本题的要求。接着,听力练习,学生根据听到的内容,完成插图中的句子。全班学生朗读图中的对话。
  (三)lc两人小组活动。教师提供一张街区地图,让学生运用刚刚学习的目标语言,两人一组进行对话。可以先让一组学生做示范,同 时老师对活动作具体的说明。老师可以将例句写在黑板上,供学生借鉴。
  板书:A:Excuse me.Can you please tell me where I can get a dictionary
  B:Sure.There’s a bookstore on River Road.
  (四) 2a&2b听力训练。这个练习训练学生使用目标语言。
  首先显示课本插图,利用课本的图片介绍新单词。例如:escalator,elevator,shoe store等等。
  再使用FLASH动画,让学生读一遍方框中的句子,理解每句话的意思。听录音,根据录音内容,按照 2a的要求,让学生把听到的句子按顺序写出来,并检查学生的答案。
  学生再听录音,完成2b的任务,把录音中男孩要去药房走的方向用线画出来。
  四、教学巩固
  任务:比一比,谁画的商业区最好。
  教师首先布置任务,让学生四人小组合作设计一个商业区图,看看哪一个小组设计得最好,布局最合理,用实物投影展示同学们的作品,评出最好的作品和最差的作品。学生会用到下面的句型:The drugstore is between the furniture store and the bookstore.The bank is next to the bookstore.There is a bookstore on River Road.等等。
  说明:通过活动培养学生的设计理念,审美情趣,培养学生的自信心
  五、作业 (Homework):
  1.调查同学们平时去得最多的地方,说说他们为什么喜欢到哪些地方去;
  2.调查了解什么东西可以到什么地方购买到。
第二课时
  教学目标
  熟练地表达问路和为他人指明方位。通过阅读让学生对去某些地方进行评价,引导学生正确利用业余时间,提高对公共场所地位置的认识。
  教学过程
  一、导入:
  上课前,教师准备好若干张卡片,每人一张。上课时发给学生。教师让每个学生在卡片上用英语写上自己最喜欢去的地方,并写上原因。每个学生写完后,教师根据学生所喜欢的地方编成若干组,喜欢去同一个地方的在一个组。大家依次说出自己的理由,并由组长记录,最后向全班汇报。评一评,哪个小组做得最好。
  二、阅读:
  通过阅读使学生更好地使用目标语言。
  教师把词语advantages和disadvantages写在黑板上,让学生用他们自己的话或举例子解释这个词的意思。教师把加号(+)写在advantages的前面,把减号(-)写在disadvantages的前面。例如,教师说:What are some advantages and disadvantages to owning a car 让学生讨论,自由发表自己的意见。
  学生朗读短文,把去商业区的利弊列出来,培养学生搜集信息,归类信息的能力。
  老师讲解课文,特别强调本单元的目标语言。同时检查学生的答案。最后让学生听录音,模仿朗读课文。
  说明:通过阅读,培养学生理解课文,获取信息的能力,开拓学生思维,进一步巩固本单元的目标语言。
  三、教学巩固:
  任务一:你在什么地方打发时光
  让学生四人一组进行讨论,你经常和你的朋友到什么地方闲逛。用Where do you usually hang out with friends At your house At school At a mall 让他们进行讨论,对去每一个地方的利弊进行辩论,并说出自己的理由。最后分小组进行汇报,看一看,哪一个小组的结论最有趣。
  任务二:方向大挑战
  教师提供一张本地地图或一张街区图,学生四人小组活动,学生先把自己想去的地方写在一张纸上,其中一个学生按指定的出发地点,说自己要走的线路,其他同学猜他要去的地方,猜对的同学得5分,依次轮流说出自己要走的路线,看谁分数最高。
  四、作业:
  1.熟读 3a的对话;
  2.复习已经学习过的形容词。
  3.写一段短文:描写从车站到你们学校的路如何走最近。
第三课时
  教学目标
  熟练地掌握问路和指路的对话,以及学习描写某地品质形容词。
  教学过程
  一、导入:
  When you want to go to some place,first,you must know what kind of place it is and whether you should go there or not.老师用多媒体课件,展示一些restroom,museum,restaurant,park,subway,mail等场所的图片,引入本节课的学习内容。
  二、教学:
  (一)sectionB -1a
  把la中的形容词和表格,显示的屏幕上,学生朗读方框中的形容词,说说那些是会的那些是不会的,对学生不会的进行解释。指导学生填写表格,让学生说说自己的答案。
  (二)sectionB-1b小组活动。
  四人一组开展活动,“说说你们的城市”,用你所知道的形容词描述一下你们所在的城市。他们可以说The Fine Arts Museum is really interesting.等等。
  (三) 2a&2b他们要到哪里去
  利用农远工程教学网中学资源07-08上学期中的学习指导中学英语人教课标版9年级Unit11的多媒体课件中的图片、动画和人机交互自测程序进行以下教学活动。
  首先,让学生看插图,说一说他们在做什么。
  让学生听 2a录音,填写第一个表格。
  让学生再听录音,把游客要去的地方写出来。
  让学生两人一组,角色扮演,练习对话。
  三、教学巩固
  任务:美丽的校园
  四人一组开展活动。通过活动复习表示校园建筑物及各种设施的相关词汇,培养学生制作平面图和描述具体位置的能力。教师准备校园景物照片若干张,并让学生过看照片回答问题:Look at the picture.Where is it How can I get there from 0ur classroom 学生4人一组对以上问题进行抢答,反应敏捷、回答正确的小组获胜;学生熟悉了校园各建设物及各种设施的名称及具体位置后,制作校园平面图,用英语注明各建筑物的名称。
  说明:每个学生都参与活动,通过彼此间的合作来感受成功,使课堂气氛达到高潮,培养了学生的情趣和积极的学习态度。
  四、作业
  1.学生根据 2a和2b表格上的信息,把三段对话的内容写出来。
  2.用 1a的形容词描写我们城市的地方。
第四课时
  教学目标
  阅读短文,掌握短文内容,提高学生的阅读能力。学生熟练地掌握问路和指路的对话。
  教学过程
  一、导入:
  让学生看水上乐园的图片。使让学生产生对Water town的兴趣。
  二、阅读和写作:
  (一)阅读sectionB -3a.
  利用农远工程教学网中学资源07-08上学期中的学习指导中学英语人教课标版9年级Unit11的多媒体课件中的图片、动画和人机交互自测程序进行以下教学活动。
  学生第一次快速阅读,掌握短文大意。第二次朗读短文,并完成表格,教师用实物投影把学生的答案展示出来,对学生的练习进行评改。
  老师讲解课文中的难点。然后提问两个学生朗读短文,并对学生的朗读作出评价,对存在的发音错误,及时纠正,使学生养成良好的读书习惯。
  播放短文录音,让学生模仿朗读。
  (二)写作3b“开心好玩到Sunville。”
   (1)学生看书本的图表,教师对写作提出要求,请学生根据 2a和2b的信息,完成短文内容。
   (2)学生按要求进行写作。同时,老师在教室内四处走动,随时关注学生的写作情况,并对那些需要帮助的学生及时给予指导。
   (3)在大部分学生完成后,老师从学生中抽出几篇作文,借助实物投影,在全班同学面前评改。让学生们一起学习作文中写得好的地方,把其中的精彩句子抄录下来。同时,指出作文中的错误。
  说明:当场展示和点评学生的作文,不仅可以让学生们对作文中的优点及作文中所犯的错误留下深刻的印象,同时也能够增强学生们的自信心和学习兴趣。必须强调的是老师在点评作文时,一定要以鼓励为主。让学生根据已有的信息进行写作,提高学生的写作能力。
  (三)写作 3c“欢迎到我们城市来”。
   (1)首先让学生进行小组讨论,我们城市里有什么好玩的地方,并说出各自的理由。把同学们提到的地方,用笔记录下来。
   (2)依照3b,写一篇欢迎到“我们城市来介绍”的短文。
   (3)老师提供一些优秀的范文让学生学习。

  任务:谁是热心交警
  利用多媒体呈现一幅本地区的交通图。教师布置任务:同桌之间一人当交警,一人外地观光旅游者;旅游者在当地交通图上先确定自己所处的位置,然后向交警问路,同桌之间展开对话;教师随机抽取学生到讲台前表演,评出“热心交警”若干名。
  说明:本活动主要是练习问路和指路的句型,训练学生口语交际的能力,培养学生助人为乐的优良品质。巩固本单元学习的目标语言。
  四、作业:
  写一篇文章介绍我们生活的城市的短文。

  说明:
  我们班承担了“学校开放日”的接待工作,请学生分别扮演家长和接待者。通过这项任务,学会礼貌地询问信息和回答,以及描述各种场所的特点。
  操作建议:
  1.两人活动,学生列出家长会问到的问题。
