一、Teaching contents：
Who is tall/short/old/young
… is/are tall/short/old/young.
二、Type of class：New lesson.
三、Teaching Aims：
Make students read these sentences frequently，use them to talk about family members correctly.
四、Important point：New sentences.
Difficult point: Different usage of “is” and “are”
五、Training [Teaching] aids：
tape，card，gifts, photos of family .
六、Teaching procedure：
Procedureaim Teacheractivities Studentsactivities Adoptmethods
1. Greet and review Show some cards and ask some questions. Greet and review some old words and sentences about family. Ask and answer.
2. New concepts 1) Give the standard command for students to take out their student books.2) Divide the class into groups of four to six students，Ask the groups to look through all the photos and illustrations for this lesson.3) Point to the photo in at the top of page 18, ask the students to know these people. 4) Ask questions: Who is tall/ short/ old / young.5) point to the illustration at the bottom of page 18 and the top of page19，ask the students if they can guess what does he say？6) Give the “listen” command. Ask the students to listen and read.7) Review the last lines with the class. What do they know the meanings of the sentences Open the books. Work in groups.Look at all of the photos discuss the members in Li Ming’s family.To recognize these people and talk about them. Answer teacher’s questions. Work in pairs and say their opinions.Listen to the tape and read after it read the new text.Review the last linesTalk about the meanings. Discuss in groups.Stand up and answer.Ask and answer.Pairs work and showStudy together.
3. DrillAct Act with the students 1) Act to understand tall, short, old and young.2) Practice the text in pairs with actions. Act together practice in pairs
4. Activity Talk about family Give the example to talk about a family. Talk about the family with photos. Show separately.
5. relax Say a chant. Play the audiotape and say with the students Say the chant after the audiotape together. Chant
6. do exercise Give the standard command for the students to take out the activity book. Take out the activity book and do some exercise. Do exercise.
7. Home work 1）listen and read the text 3 times2) introduce your family to your friends.
