英语的每个词，至少有一个音节读得特别重而清楚，而其他的音节则轻而含糊。读得重而清楚的音节，叫做单词重音，又叫重读音节。读得轻而含糊的音节，叫做非重读音节或轻读音节。

4.含有后缀self/selves和形容词作物主代词的双音节复合词，重音也落在第二个音节上。
5、多音节的词重音一般落在第一个音节上。
6、含有前缀a-,ac-,ad-,af-,al-,ap-,ar-,as-,de-,dis-,ex-,em-,in-,im-,sub-,un-,trans-等的双音节或多音节词，一般重读音落在第二个音节上。
7、含有词尾-ain,-ee,-eer,-esce,-ique,-oon的词将重音引向最后一个音节。

2、英语中有不少双音节的名词与动词拼法完全相同，但重音不同，这类词的重音起着区别词类和词义的作用：名词重音在前一音节，动词重音在后一音节。如：

`concert 音乐会 con`cert 协商
`desert 沙漠 de`sert 舍弃
`produce 产品 pro`duce 生产
3、复合名词的重音一般在第一个音节上

4、双音节词中动词、形容词、副词和介词，重音比较相似。如果他们第二个音节属于下列情况，那么重音就在第二个音节上。 (a).第二个音节为长元音：
