教材分析
  本单元以Inventions为话题,共设计了四个部分的内容:
  Section A
  该部分有4个模块:第一模块围绕When and in what order were they invented 这一话题展开讨论( 1a)、听力(1b)、口语( 1c)训练;第二模块围绕3个inventions 进行听力( 2a-2b)、口语( 2c)训练;第三模块继续围绕inventions这一话题展开训练,要求列出两类不同的发明( 3a)并以pairwork形式对此展开讨论和对话训练(3b);第四模块设置情景alone on a tiny island,以小组活动形式讨论在该情景下什么inventions重要及原因。这部分主要训练口语、学生处理问题的思维能力和想象力。
  Section B
  该部分有4个模块:第一模块是词汇的学习( 1a)与运用(1b);第二模块围绕the history of chips继续进行听力( 2a-2b)、口语( 2c)训练;第三模块围绕Who invented tea?这一话题展开阅读理解( 3a),并要求学生能够以“From pie plate to flying disk”为题目进行应用写作训练(3b);第四模块以inventions这一话题训练学生的创造力、解决问题的能力和想象力( 4a), 并且以小组讨论和角色扮演(4b)的形式展开口语训练。
  Self check
  该部分有2个模块:第一模块对所学词汇进行填空训练(1);第二模块要求就不同的inventions搜集信息并进行写作训练(2)。
   Reading
  该部分共设置了5项任务:第一项任务以问题讨论的方式激活学生相关背景知识(Section 1);第二项任务要求学生通过快速阅读获取信息(Section 2);第三项任务利用填图、回答问题等练习形式进一步加深学生对阅读内容的理解(Section 3);第四项任务要求学生对“play on China’s national basketball team one day”问题发表观点、进行口语训练(Section 4);第五项任务要求学生对某一项发明进行调查研究。

第一课时
  教学目标
  学习一般过去时的被动语态和特殊疑问句。
  教学过程
  导入(Lead-in):
  Ask the students to be familiar with the words below according to the pictures on computer.(叫学生根据图片或通过多媒体熟悉如下的单词。)
  telephone,calculator,car,personal computer,TV,electric light,light bulb,alarm,
  clock,microwave oven,electric slipper.
  二、教学句型

  Choose、the three inventions of these and ask students to guess when each 0ne was in—
  vented.(选出其中三项发明,然后让学生猜每个发明的时间。)

  完成一个任务:
  Ask some students to read about an invention using an encyclopedia or other book
  from the library,or by looking up information on the Internet.Have the students write up
  a short report and draw a simple picture of the invention or bring in a photo of It.Ask each
  students to show the picture and read his or her report to the class.
  说明:通过来完成一个任务.让学生运用所学内容,既巩固了本课所学的语言目标,又开拓了学生的思维,使学生的思维跳出了课本,培养学生在实际生活中运用本课所学内容,来解决现实生活中的实际问题的能力,真正达到了新课标提出的培养学生综合运用语言的能力。

  教学过程
  一、复习
  通过图片展示出以下句型及一些发明物for example:computer,telephone,car,TV,calculator…
  组织同学应用以下句型进行对话,并把句型写在黑板上

  二、教学helpful,annoying
  Ask students to give some examples to show what each word means.
  For example:
  A vacuum cleaner is helpful.
  A very loud truck is annoying.
  确信学生知道helpful,annoying的含义。
  三、教学 3a.
  1. 首先,老师利用图片,呈现alarm clock,light bulb,microwave oven的画面.Then ask the students the following questions.
  通过此方法让学生表达对创造和发明事物的认识和看法。
  注:让学生根据自己写出的五个helpful inventions和五个annoying inventions与同伴进行俩俩对话.
  2. Then ask the students to make a list of five helpful inventions and five annoying inventions on their own.Give the class about five minutes to do this.(接着要求学生写出五个helpful inventions和五个annoying inventions,五分钟完成。)
  注:当学生做时,教师应全班移动来帮助学生。完毕,四人一组互相分享答案。最后,要求一些学生读出他们的答案,并且解释为什么。
  四、教学3b.
  Ask the students to work in pair the following talk using the target language.(叫学生
  用语言目标进行俩俩对话。)
  让学生根据自己写出的五个helpful inventions和五个annoying inventions应用以下句型与同伴进行俩俩对话。教师将应用句型写在黑板上。

  完成一个任务:Group work
  Imagine that you are alone on a tiny island.Choose five inventions you would like to
  have on the island with you.Tell the group what you chose and why.

  一、复习
  要求学生使用黑板上的句型练习对话。

  通过口语练习,既激发了学生的学习积极性,让学生在轻松好奇的氛围中复习了上节
  课的目标语言,又引出新课。
  二、教学 1a,1b.
  1.First the teacher asks the students what kind of fruit food and drink you like the best and writes down on the blackboard.教师问学生最喜欢什么水果和饮料并把它们写在黑板上。
  比如:potato chips,ice cream,tea,lemon,chocolate,oranges,salad,popcorn,
  pickle and SO on.
  2.接着叫学生表达以上食物的味道,引出新单词——sweet,crispy,salty,sour,delicious,hot,awful,nice…并且完成lb教学内容
  通过此活动,以旧带新引入新单词。其目的是让学生自主学习新知识。
  三、教学 2a,2b
  1.首先,听力前的brainstorm
  First,Let students describe how potato chips taste and describe how helpful the pota—
  to chips.
  Then,ask:When and where were potato chips invented

  How were potato chips invented (Let students guess according to the following key
  words.)

  四、教学 3a

  1.老师利用多媒体课件,呈现a cup of tea和the emperor(who was Shen Nung)
  was boiling drinking water over an open fire的画面.Then ask the students the following
  questions.
  让四人一组进行分组讨论以上问题。
  注:当学生讨论时,教师应全班移动来帮助学生。
  2.让学生根据文章内容完成问题。时间4分钟。完毕,要求一些学生在全班分享他
  们的答案,并且解释为什么。最后,老师给出答案。
   (通过听力练习和阅读练习让学生明白这些创造和发明对我们的生活的帮助和对生活
  质量的提高认识。)
  3.接着要求学生写出五个helpful inventions和五个annoying inventions,五分钟完成。

  完成一个任务:Blind Taste Test
  Ask a student to bring to class some foods that taste sweet,crispy,salty,and sour.
  Have him or her blindfold students one at a time,let the student taste little pieces of each
  food,and say if each food is sweet,crispy,salty,or sour,Students may use more than
  one word to describe some foods.
  说明:通过综合性的活动,培养学生的语言运用能力。
  六、作业
  用动词的适当形式填空。

  教学过程
  一、导入(Lead-in):
  老师出了一些图片,例如:computer,radio,camlight bulb,car,bicycle,TV,tea,and so on.
  Then ask students to discuss pictures and say something about what he/she would best in class.教师可给出下面句型提示:

  说明:通过图片和句型,既激发了学生的口语练习的积极性,又让学生在轻松好奇的氛围中认识人类的科技进步。
  二、教学写作(writing)3b, 4a.
  1.首先,写作前的brainstorm
  First,read the instructions to the class and make students look at the sample first tence of 3b.
  Then,explain that students can combine more than one point into one sentence.
  Finish 3b according to working in pairs.
  2.At last,ask a few students to tell the class about the partners they have interview Finish 4b.(教师可以让一个好学生来完成代替。)

  写作:根据Section B 3b所给内容写一篇大约60个词的文章,介绍飞盘产生的过程。

  此活动为小组活动,引导学生注意观察生活,感受生活,培养学生的创造力。学生根据自己在日常生活中的困难,发挥想象力和创造力,为自己和他人设计一项发明来解决自己所遇到的困难。

  操作建议:
