People give each other New Year cards two or three weeks before the new year comes. Everybody feels so happy because it is a new beginning . This is the most important holiday in China . The holiday usually lasts for about two weeks. Before the holiday, houses and rooms are cleaned, hair is cut , food and new clothes are bought. At midnight , at the turn of the old and new year , people let off fire-crackers to drive away the bad things and greet the coming of the new year .On March 12th, it’s our Tree Planting Day. On this day people from all walks of life will be plant a lot of trees. The more trees we have , the better the environment. So planting trees is a very good thing for us . Easter Day is a day of parties, present-giving and a celebration of the rebirth of Jesus. Many people make Easter bunnies and colour the eggs which are later eaten during the holiday . Mother’s Day is a time to say “ I love you ” to mum . It is a time to let mother relax, watch TV or read newspapers. On this day other family members should do the washing, cleaning and cooking and let mother enjoy a day of being loved and well-looked after . Many countries in the world have Chlidren’s Day on different dates or in different moths . But the things they do are similar . Children will have lots of fun and happiness on this day . On Chlidren’s Day in Turkey, some children could be picked to help to run the country for one day and a lucky child may be asked to be the president of Turkey on that day . Summer holidays are for both teachers and students to have a good time. After months of hard work , teachers and students are tired and they need to smell the flowers and enjoy their own life . Think hard and you may have a happy summer holiday .‘When the moon is full, mankind is one .’ In China , the full moon signifies the family reunion. On this night, families will have parties, eat moon-cakes and enjoy the moonlight .Many countries have Teacher’s Day. And the dates for Teachers’ Day are different . Our Teachers’ Day is on September 10. School has just begun and the students are back from their holidays. It’s great to think of our teachers and say thanks to them . October 1st is our National Day . It means that many years ago on this day we told the people all over the world that the Chinese people stood up and China became a strong country, People live together and study together . We are trying our best to make our country stronger and better .Thanksgiving Day is ususlly a family day . People have big dinners and give thanks . In our daily life , many people give thanks to them . Santa Claus was invented in the United States in 1860s. Christmas is a holiday for Christians all over the world. Before Christmas, people buy trees , presents and get ready for this celebration. Christmas songs, cards, lights are all added to make a better Christmas holiday . Which holiday do you like ? Why ?
