UNIT 3 My Country and English-speaking Countries
Lesson 18 China
一、教学设计思路
本课的主要教学内容是有关China，Beijing的有关信息。本课中，教师首先可以通过世界地图复习Lesson 17中有关map，country等有关知识并导入本课教学；然后，通过世界地图和中国地图引入China的学习，并通过小组讨论等共同了解有关中国北京的信息；最后，通过小游戏和活动手册有关练习对本课知识进行巩固。
二、教学目标
（一）知识
听说认读China, Chinese, speak.
了解北京的主要名胜古迹。
（二）能力
能够用英语简单介绍北京。
（三）情感
通过了解国家首都及名胜古迹培养学生热爱首都热爱国家的情感。
三、教学重点
区分China, Chinese。动词speak的具体运用。
四、教学媒体
1．世界地图及中国地图。
2．有关图片（五星红旗、天安门、故宫、长城等）。
3．国旗实物。
4．录音及磁带。（音频资源）
5．国歌。
6．有关视频。
五、教学过程
1．导入
1）Daily greeting。
2）通过师生情景会话复习上课中map，country等内容，并导入本课的教学。
教师出示世界地图：
T: Do you still remember what’s it
Ss: Map.
T: Yes, great. It’s a map. It’s a map of world.
T: Can you see some countries on the map
Ss: Yes.
T: There are many countries in the world.（教师通过语气及动作让学生区理解这些话，潜移默化地培养学生听英语的能力。）
2．呈现新课
1）A map of China
T: Can you find our country on the map
Ss: Yes.
T: Please point it to me.（教师找学生将的图上的China指给大家看。）
T: Yes. It’s our country China. China. Please follow me.（教师示意大家跟读China。）
教师在黑板上写China，T: Please pay attention to the Big Letter C in the word China.（教师提醒学生注意China首字母C要大写，并告诉学生其它国家名的首字母也要大写。）
T: We speak Chinese in China. Chinese.让学生跟读Chinese。向学生简单介绍Chinese和China的区别：We live in China. We are Chinese. We speak Chinese in China.
教师为学生多列举几个含有speak的句子，让学生理解。
T: Look at the world map, please. What country is east of China What’s country is south and east of China What country west of China （教师提示大家练习范围定在Lesson 17接触到的几个英语国家。）
教师将学生分组进行讨论以上问题。然后，小组间进行互评，最后老师对大家的完成任务情况进行总评，并根据学生对以上练习内容掌握的实际情况调整教学内容。
2）教师出示中国地图：
T: Is it the map of our country
Ss: Yes.
T: The name of our country is ….
Ss: China.
T: China is our country. We love China.
T: Do you see the star on the map （教师指着五角星）
Ss: Yes.
T: Where is it Can you guess
Ss: Beijing.
T: Yes, it’s the capital city of China. It’s the heart of our country.
让学生有感情地跟读几遍。
T: What do you know about Beijing
教师鼓励学生大胆发言谈谈北京，教师给与适当提示，如：about the national flag, about the national anthem, about the places of interest in Beijing…
3）In China
教师播放【flash】the national anthem of China, 让学生跟着音乐唱国歌。（教师手里挥动五星红旗）
T: Do you know what the song is
Do you know what the flag is
What colour is it
What can you see in the video
Do you know other places in Beijing
教师出示一张张诸如长城等图片或播放视频，让学生进一步了解有关北京的名胜古迹，并验证他们上边的讨论结果。另外，还可以为学生播放08北京奥运会志愿者宣传片等，让学生了解和北京有关的更多信息。
教师教读Tian’anmen Square, the Palace Museum, the Great Wall等。
3．趣味操练
Divide the class into small groups. Each student (takes turns describing himself or herself to the group. Brainstorm possible sentences first. Make sure to include the first two phrases and make sure every student uses them in his or her description:
I live in China.
I speak Chinese.
I am __ years old.
I live in a/an (house, apartment).
My address is __
I like___, but I don't like___.
I like to___.
My mother/father is a __ (occupation).
I am wearing___.
4．课堂评价
作活动手册相关练习，通过听力练习等评价学生对本课内容的掌握情况。另外，教师对学生的评价以及学生之间的评价还要体现在课堂中。
5．课后作业
用英语简单地将China，Beijng介绍给爸爸妈妈。
