Lesson 19 Canada
一、教学设计思路
本课的主要教学内容是有关加拿大的信息。本课中,教师可以首先通过复习有关中国的信息导入本课教学;然后通过Jenny和Danny两个大家较为熟悉的加拿大朋友引入加拿大的教学,并通过图片视频等传递信息;最后通过有关活动和练习对本课进行巩固。
二、教学目标
(一)知识
听说认读Canada, English, capital city。
了解有关加拿大的信息。
(二)能力
能够用英语简单介绍加拿大。
(三)情感
培养学生学习英语的兴趣。并通过对加拿大有关信息的学习,培养学生了解英语国家自然风光及文化的兴趣。
三、教学重点
听说认读Canada, English, capital city。
口语简单介绍加拿大。
四、教学媒体
1.地图:世界地图、中国地图、加拿大地图。
2.枫叶或图片。
3.加拿大国旗及图片。
4.Niagara Fall的视频。
5.录音机及磁带。(音频资源)
五、教学过程
1.导入
1)Daily greeting。
2)复习China:教师出示中国地图。
Good morning/afternoon, class! Where do we live
What colour is this country
What country is north of the __ (colour) country
What country is this
What do we speak in China
2.呈现新课
1)A map of Canada
教师出师一张世界地图,地图上加拿大的位置画有Jenny和Danny:
T: Do you still remember these two friends
Who are they
Ss: Jenny and Danny.
T: Yes, they are Jenny and Danny. Is this their country (教师指着地图上加拿大的位置)
Ss: Yes.
T: So what is it It’s Canada. Jenny and Danny live in Canada. Canada.(让学生跟读。)教师将Canada写在黑板上,并强调C大写。
T: Is Canada the south of the U.S.
…
T: Beijing is the capital city of China. Now, we can say Ottawa is the capital city of Canada.(教师利用中国地图和加拿大地图对比着说)让学生跟读capital city. 并重复Beijing is the capital city of China. Ottawa is the capital city of Canada.让学生通过句子去理解capital city。
T: What do we speak in China
Ss: Chinese.
T: Do you know what Jenny and Danny speak in Canada
让学生们进行猜测。
T: Do they speak Chinese

T: No, they speak English and French in Canada. English, People in Canada speak English.让学生跟读几遍。French, people in Canada speak French, too. 强调E在English,F在French中大写。
Note:In Canada, they speak English and French because many French people lived in Canada when Canada became a country.(给学生简单介绍加拿大的历史)
让学生们进行pair-work. 相互提问介绍Jenny和Danny的祖国Canada。

让学生跟录音朗读课文。
3.趣味操练
Divide the class into two groups. One group “lives in Canada” and one group “lives in China.” You stand with one group, and then the other group, and lead a dialogue such as this:
T: What country is this
Ss: China/Canada.
T: Where do we live
Ss: China/Canada.
T: (Point to the other group.) Where do they live
Ss: China/Canada.
T: What do we/they speak
Ss: Chinese/English.
T: We speak, but...
Ss: We speak, but they speak…
4.课堂评价
①教师指导学生做活动手册的相关练习。
②教师根据学生课堂参与的情况,对不同能力的学生制定不同的“小星星”标准,使每个学生都有得到“小星星”的机会和能力,以此激发学生的努力。
③搞小竞赛,让学生参与评价,进行小组互评,从而激发学生的积极性。
5.课后作业
将Jenny和Danny的祖国简单介绍给爸爸妈妈或朋友。
根据个人兴趣搜集更多的有关加拿大的信息。
