In
recent
years,
our
backyard
often
rushes
into
my
memory.
When
we
were
young,
mom
often
mentioned
that
our
backyard
looked
36
.
One
winter
after
the
first
big
snowfall.
my
siblings(兄弟姐妹)
and
I
37
a
snowman
in
our
backyard,which
made
it
look
not
so
empty.
From
that
time
on,
our
snowman
38
was
started.
Making
a
snowman
takes
patience.
We
usually
39
by
packing
a
snowball,
and
then
rolled
it
in
the
fresh
snow.
Like
40
a
balloon,the
snowball
magically
grew
larger.
My
siblings
and
I
would
race
to
see
who
could
make
the
largest
snowball,
although
a
snowball
fight
usually
broke
out
among
us.
Finally,
a
41
would
he
announced
and
the
largest
snowball
would
be
used
as
our
base.
After
this
original
competition
stage,
we
would
build
the
snowman
all
through42
.My
brother
Evan
and
I
would
take
the
second
largest
snowball
and
43
it
on
the
base--it
would
be
the
perfect
body.
My
brother
Stephen
would
pack
snow
between
the
spaces,
and
my
sister
would
cement(粘结)
the
newly
packed
snow.
The
44
would
be
repeated
when
we
used
another
snowball
for
the
head.
This
was
the
snowman
tradition
throughout
my
45
.
One
winter,
however,
we
46;we
were
too
old;
it
was
too
much
work
and
lost
its
47.Next,
our
sled(雪橇)was
48
,and
then,
we
didn't
go
out
into
the
snow
at
all.
We
were49
,
and
more
importantly,
growing
apart.
I_50
it.
So
last
year,
I
started
the
tradition
again.
I
wandered
out
into
the
snow
alone,
and
built
a
snowman.
After
finishing
it,
I
took
a
step
back
and
51
admired
my
handiwork.
My
snowman
was
not
perfect,
52
I
was
proud
of
it.
My
siblings
and
I
are
similar
in
age,
and
we
used
to
develop
53
bonds(联系)
with
each
other.
I
love
them
and
the
snowman
tradition
54
who
I
am.
However,
as
we
grow
older,
something
seemed
to
have
changed.
I've
expressed
my
concerns
to
my
siblings
about
the
growing
55
between
us,
and
I
will
try
to
bring
us
back
together.

四、阅读理解
(共15小题:每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中.选出最佳选顶,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。
A
At
thirteen,
I
was
diagnosed(诊所)with
kind
of
attention
disorder.
It
made
school
difficult
for
me.
When
everyone
else
in
the
class
was
focusing
on
tasks,
I
could
not.
In
my
first
literature
class,
Mrs.Smith
asked
us
to
read
a
story
and
then
write
on
it,
all
within
45
minutes.
I
raised
my
hand
right
away
and
said,“Mrs.Smith,
you
see,
the
doctor
said
I
have
attention
problems.
I
might
not
be
able
to
do
it.”
She
glanced
down
at
me
through
her
glasses,
“you
are
no
different
from
your
classmates,
young
man.”
I
tried,
but
I
didn’t
finish
the
reading
when
the
bell
rang.
I
had
to
take
it
home.
In
the
quietness
of
my
bedroom,
the
story
suddenly
all
became
clear
to
me.
It
was
about
a
blind
person,
Louis
Braille.
He
lived
in
a
time
when
the
blind
couldn’t
get
much
education.
But
Louis
didn’t
give
up.
Instead,
he
invented
a
reading
system
of
raised
dots(点),
which
opened
up
a
whole
new
world
of
knowledge
to
the
blind.
Wasn’t
I
the
“blind”
in
my
class,
being
made
to
learn
like
the
“sighted”
students
My
thoughts
spilled
out
and
my
pen
started
to
dance.
I
completed
the
task
within
40
minutes.
Indeed,
I
was
no
different
from
others;
I
just
needed
a
quieter
place.
If
Louis
could
find
his
way
out
of
his
problems,
why
should
I
ever
give
up
I
didn’t
expect
anything
when
I
handed
in
my
paper
to
Mrs.
Smith,
so
it
was
quite
a
surprise
when
it
came
back
to
me
the
next
day-
with
an“A”
on
it.
At
the
bottom
of
the
paper
were
these
words:“
See
what
you
can
do
when
you
keep
trying ”
56.The
author
didn’t
finish
the
reading
in
class
because__________.
A.He
was
new
to
the
class
B.He
was
tried
of
literature
C.He
had
an
attention
disorder
D.He
wanted
to
take
the
task
home
57.What
was
Mrs.
Smith’s
attitude
to
the
author
at
the
end
of
the
story
A.Angry
B.Impatient
C.Sympathetic
D.Encouraging
58.What
is
the
main
idea
of
the
passage
A.The
disabled
should
be
treated
with
respect.
B.A
teacher
can
open
up
a
new
world
to
students.
C.One
can
find
his
way
out
of
difficulties
with
efforts.
D.Everyone
needs
a
hand
when
faced
with
challenges.

in
the
world.
In
the
1920
Olympic
Games
in
Belgium
Paddock
won
the
gold
medal
in
the
100-meter
dash
and
a
silver
medal
in
the
200-meter
dash.
One
day
Paddock
visited
a
school
in
Cleveland,
Ohio
and
spoke
to
the
students.
A
young
black
child
listened
attentively
as
this
famous
athlete
talked.
“What
do
you
want
to
be ”
Paddock
asked.
“You
name
it
and
then
you
will
become
just
that,”
he
said.
That
young
man
decided
that
he
too
wanted
to
be
the
fastest
human
being
on
earth.
He
shared
his
dream
with
Charles
Riley,
his
junior
high
track
coach.
Coach
Riley
said
to
him,
“It’s
great
to
have
a
dream,
son,
but
to
achieve
your
goal,
it
is
necessary
to
build
a
ladder
(梯子)
to
it.
On
the
ladder
you
must
have
steps
that
will
support
the
weight
of
all
you
hope
to
achieve.
The
first
step
on
your
dream
ladder
must
be
determination
and
the
second
devotion.
The
third
step
is
discipline(自律)!
The
fourth
is
attitude!”
However,
the
possibilities
were
against
this
young
man.
He
was
a
poor
black
man
who
received
no
scholarship
to
college.
When
traveling
with
his
team
he
slept
and
ate
in
“black
only”
hotels
and
restaurants.
He
won
eight
individual
NCAA
championships
at
Ohio
State
University
but
he
was
not
allowed
to
live
on
the
college
campus.
In
spite
of
cruel
racial
prejudice
(种族歧视)
and
many
other
difficulties,
he
kept
on
working
hard.
In
1936
at
the
Berlin
Olympics
he
won
four
gold
medals.
He
made
such
an
impression
on
Germany
that
even
Adolph
Hitler
rose
and
waved
his
hand
at
this
great
runner.
He
was
chosen
for
the
Alabama
Sports
Hall
of
Fame
in
1970;
he
was
awarded
the
Presidential
Medal
of
Freedom
in

by
Gerald
Ford
and
the
Congressional
Gold
Medal
by
George
H.
W.
Bush
on
March

In

Living
and
dealing
with
kids
can
be
a
tough
job
these
days,
but
living
and
dealing
with
parents
can
be
even
tougher.
If
I
have
learned
anything
in
my
16
years,
it
is
that
communication
is
very
important,
both
when
you
disagree
and
when
you
get
along.
With
any
relationship,
you
need
to
let
other
person
know
how
you
are
feeling.
If
you
are
not
able
to
communicate,
you
drift
apart.
When
you
are
mad
at
your
parents,
or
anyone
else,
not
talking
to
them
doesn’t
solve
anything.
Communication
begins
with
the
concerns
of
another.
It
means
that
you
can’t
just
come
home
from
school,
go
up
to
your
room
and
ignore
everyone.
Even
if
you
just
say
“Hi”,
and
see
how
their
day
was
for
five
minutes,
it
is
better
than
nothing.
If
you
looked
up
the
word
“communication”
in
a
dictionary,
it
would
say
“the
exchange
of
ideas,
the
conveyance
(表达)of
information,
correspondence
(通信),
means
of
communication:
a
letter
or
a
message”.
To
maintain
(保持)
a
good
relationship,
you
must
keep
communication
strong.
Let
people
know
how
you
feel,
even
if
it’s
just
by
writing
a
note.
When
dealing
with
parents,
you
always
have
to
make
them
feel
good
about
how
they
are
doing
as
a
parent.
If
you
are
trying
to
make
them
see
something
as
you
see
it,
tell
them
that
you’ll
listen
to
what
they
have
to
say,
but
ask
them
politely
to
listen
to
you.
Yelling
or
walking
away
only
makes
the
situation
worse.
This
is
an
example:
one
night,
Sophie
went
to
a
street
party
with
her
friends.
She
knew
she
had
to
be
home
by
midnight
after
the
fireworks,
but
she
didn’t
feel
she
could
just
ask
to
go
home.
That
would
be
rude.
After
all,
they
had
been
nice
enough
to
take
her
along
with
them.
Needless
to
say,
she
was
late
getting
home.
Her
parents
were
mad
at
first,
not
when
Sophie
explained
why
she
was
late,
they
weren’t
as
mad
and
let
the
incident
go.
Communication
is
the
key
factor
here.
If
Sophie’s
parents
had
not
been
willing
to
listen,
Sophie
would
have
been
in
a
lot
of
trouble.
Communication
isn’t
a
one-way
deal:
it
goes
both
ways.
Just
remember:
if
you
get
into
a
situation
like
Sophie’s,
telling
the
other
person
how
you
feel-listening
is
the
key
factor
to
communication.
67.
In
the
writer’s
view,
dealing
with
parents
is
__________
than
with
children.
A.
more
difficult
B.
easier
C.
more
uninteresting
D.
more
interesting
68.
The
main
idea
of
the
second
paragraph
is
__________.
A.
the
importance
of
friendship
B.
to
make
your
feeling
known
to
others
C.
the
importance
of
communication
D.
the
disagreement
between
generations
69.
The
example
in
this
passage
proves
that
___________.
A.
Sophie’s
parents
are
willing
to
listen
to
her
B.
Sophie
is
very
polite
to
her
parents
C.
Sophie
did
well
in
explaining
her
being
late
D.
Communication
is
the
solution
to
misunderstanding.
70.
All
the
following
statements
are
correct
except
“_______”.
A.
If
you
don’t
agree
with
others,
you’d
better
let
them
know
B.
It
is
better
to
say
“Hi”
to
others
than
say
nothing
C.
If
you
are
not
able
to
communicate,
walk
away
D.
Communication
is
a
two-way
deal

China’s

of
the

said
it
will

"There
