第三部分 阅读理解
(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
请认真阅读下列短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
When
international
aid
is
given,
steps
must
be
taken
to
ensure(确保)that
the
aid
reaches
the
people
for
whom
it
is
intended.
The
way
to
achieve
this
may
not
be
simple.
It
is
very
difficult
for
a
nation
to
give
help
directly
to
people
in
another
nation.
The
United
Nations
Organization
(UNO)
could
undertake
to
direct
the
distribution
of
aid.
Here
however
rises
the
problem
of
costs.
Also
tied
with
this
is
time.
Perhaps
the
UNO
could
set
up
a
body
of
devoted
men
and
women
in
every
country
who
can
speedily
distribute
aid
to
victims
of
floods
and
earthquakes.
More
than
the
help
that
one
nation
can
give
to
another
during
a
disaster,
it
would
be
more
effective
to
give
other
forms
of
help
during
normal
times.
A
common
proverb
says,
“Give
me
a
fish
and
I
eat
for
a
day,
teach
me
to
fish
and
I
eat
for
a
lifetime.”If
we
follow
this
wise
saying,
it
would
be
right
to
teach
people
from
less
developed
nations
to
take
care
of
themselves.
For
example,
a
country
could
share
its
technology
with
another.
This
could
be
in
simple
areas
like
agriculture
or
in
more
complex
areas
like
medical
and
health
care
or
even
in
building
satellites.
Even
a
small
country
is
able
to
help
less
developed
nations.
Sometimes
what
is
taken
for
granted,
like
the
setting
up
of
a
water
purification
plant
or
the
administration
of
a
school,
could
be
useful
for
countries
which
are
looking
about
to
solve
common
problems.
It
does
not
cost
much
to
share
such
simple
things.
Exchange
students
could
be
attached
for
a
number
of
months
or
years
and
learn
the
required
craft
while
on
the
site.
They
can
then
take
their
knowledge
back
to
their
homelands
and
if
necessary
come
back
from
time
to
time
to
clear
doubts
or
to
update
themselves.
Such
aid
will
be
truly
helpful
and
there
is
no
chance
of
it
being
temporary
or
of
it
falling
into
the
wrong
hands.
Many
countries
run
extensive
courses
in
all
sorts
of
skills.
It
will
not
cost
much
to
include
deserving
foreigners
in
these
courses.
Besides
giving
effective
help
to
the
countries
concerned,
there
is
also
the
build-up
of
friendships
to
consider.
Giving
direct
help
by
giving
materials
may
be
effective
in
the
short
run
and
must
continue
to
be
given
in
the
event
of
emergencies.
However,
in
the
long
run
what
is
really
effective
would
be
the
sharing
of
knowledge.
56.According
to
the
author,
how
could
international
aid
reach
the
victims
in
time
A.
By
solving
the
cost
problems.
B.
By
solving
the
transportation
problems.
C.
By
setting
up
a
body
of
devoted
people
in
every
country.
D.
By
relying
on
the
direct
distribution
of
the
UNO.
57.
What
does
the
author
try
to
express
in
the
underlined
sentence
A.
Providing
food
is
vital.
B.
Learning
to
fish
is
helpful.
C.
Teaching
skills
is
vital.
D.
Looking
after
others
is
important.
58.
The
second
paragraph
is
developed
mainly
.
A.
by
example
B.
by
process
C.
by
comparison
D.
by
contrast
59.
Which
aid
is
likely
to
fall
into
the
wrong
hands
A.
A
medical
team.
B.
An
exchange
program.
C.
A
water
plant.
D.
Financial
support.
60.
What
can
we
infer
about
international
aid
from
the
passage
A.
It
is
facing
difficulties.
B.
It
is
unnecessary
during
normal
times.
C.
It
should
be
given
in
the
form
of
materials.
D.
It
has
gained
support
from
developed
countries.
B
Call
it
the
learning
paradox:
the
more
you
struggle
and
even
fail
while
you’re
trying
to
learn
new
information,
the
better
you’re
likely
to
recall
and
apply
that
information
later.
The
learning
paradox
is
at
the
heart
of
“productive
failure,”
a
phenomenon
identified
by
researcher
Manu
Kapur
points
out
that
while
the
model
adopted
by
many
teachers
when
introducing
students
to
new
knowledge
providing
lots
of
structure
and
guidance
early
on,
until
the
students
show
that
they
can
do
it
on
their
own
makes
intuitive
sense,
it
may
not
be
the
best
way
to
promote
learning.
Rather,
it’s
better
to
let
the
learners
wrestle
with
the
material
on
their
own
for
a
while,
refraining
from
giving
them
any
assistance
at
the
start.
In
a
paper
published
recently,
Kapur
applied
the
principle
of
productive
failure
to
mathematical
problem
solving
in
three
schools.
With
one
group
of
students,
the
teacher
provided
strong
“scaffolding”--instructional
support
and
feedback.
With
the
teacher’s
help,
these
pupils
were
able
to
find
the
answers
to
their
set
of
problems.
Meanwhile,
a
second
group
was
directed
to
solve
the
same
problems
by
cooperating
with
one
another,
without
any
prompts
from
their
instructor.
These
students
weren’t
able
to
complete
the
problems
correctly.
But
in
the
course
of
trying
to
do
so,
they
generated
a
lot
of
ideas
about
the
nature
of
the
problems
and
about
what
potential
solutions
would
look
like.
And
when
the
two
groups
were
tested
on
what
they’d
learned
the
second
group
“significantly
outperformed”
the
first.
The
apparent
struggles
of
the
floundering
(挣扎的)
group
have
what
Kapur
calls
a
“hidden
efficacy”:
they
lead
people
to
understand
the
deep
structure
of
problems,
not
simply
their
correct
solutions.
When
these
students
encounter
a
new
problem
of
the
same
type
on
a
test,
they’re
able
to
transfer
the
knowledge
they’ve
gathered
more
effectively
than
those
who
were
the
passive
recipients
of
someone
else’s
expertise.
In
the
real
world,
problems
rarely
come
neatly
packaged,
so
being
able
to
discern
their
deep
structure
is
key.
But,
Kapur
notes,
none
of
us
like
to
fail,
no
matter
how
often
Silicon
Valley
entrepreneurs
praise
the
beneficial
effects
of
an
idea
that
fails
or
a
start-up
company
that
crashes
and
burns.
So
we
need
to
“design
for
productive
failure”
by
building
it
into
the
learning
process,
Kapur
has
identified
three
conditions
that
promote
this
kind
of
beneficial
struggle.
First,
choose
problems
to
work
on
that
“challenge
but
do
not
frustrate.”
Second,
provide
learners
with
opportunities
to
explain
and
elaborate
on
what
they’re
doing.
Third,
give
learners
the
chance
to
compare
and
contrast
good
and
bad
solutions
to
the
problems.
And
to
those
students
who
protest
this
tough-love
teaching
style:
you’ll
thank
me
later.
61.
Why
does
the
author
call
the
learning
process
a
paradox
A.
Pains
do
not
necessarily
lead
to
gains.
B.
What
is
learned
is
rarely
applicable
in
life.
C.
Failure
more
often
than
not
feeds
success.
D.
The
more
is
taught,
the
less
is
learned.
62.
What
does
Kapur
disapprove
of
in
teaching
A.
Asking
students
to
find
and
solve
problems
on
their
own.
B.
Developing
students’
ability
to
apply
what
they
learn.
C.
Giving
students
detailed
guidance
and
instruction.
D.
Allowing
students
a
free
hand
in
problem
solving.
63.
What
do
people
tend
to
think
of
providing
strong
scaffolding
in
teaching
A.
It
will
make
teaching
easier.
B.
It
is
a
sensible
way
of
teaching.
C.
It
can
motivate(激发)
average
students.
D.
It
will
build
up
students’
confidence.
64.
What
kind
of
problem
should
be
given
to
students
to
solve
according
to
Kapur
A.
It
should
be
able
to
encourage
cooperative
learning.
B.
It
should
be
easy
enough
so
as
not
to
frustrate
students.
C.
It
should
be
solvable
by
average
students
with
ease.
D.
It
should
be
difficult
enough
but
still
within
their
reach.
65.
What
can
be
expected
of
this
tough-love
teaching
style
A.
Students
will
be
grateful
in
the
long
term.
B.
Teachers
will
meet
with
a
lot
of
resistance.
C.
Parents
will
think
it
too
harsh
on
their
kids.
D.
It
may
not
be
able
to
yield
the
desired
results.
C
It’s
amazing
how
we
grow
from
careless
kids
to
responsible
teens.
What
happens
in
the
course
that
makes
us
responsible
now
It’s
the
seed
that
we
sow
in
the
beginning
which
grows
and
becomes
a
huge
tree.
As
I
sit
here,
silently
thinking
about
my
growth,
I
wonder
over
some
questions
which
don’t
have
an
answer
but
it’s
because
of
such
unanswerable
situations
that
life
has
become
a
roller
coaster
ride.
As
a
kid,
I
used
to
read
a
lot
of
story
books.
In
one
particular
book,
I
read
a
story
of
a
bird.
From
then
on,
that
has
become
an
integral
(必不可少的)
part
of
my
life.
It
described
a
male
bird
which
takes
a
lot
of
pain
to
build
a
nest
and
the
female
bird
takes
shelter
in
it
and
nourishes
the
baby.
When
the
bird
learns
to
fly,
the
whole
family
flies
off
to
a
different
place
leaving
behind
the
beautiful
nest
for
other
birds
to
grow
their
family
in
it.
It
made
me
wonder.
How
could
they
so
easily
sacrifice
their
house
built
with
so
much
effort
One
night,
when
I
was
deep
in
sleep,
I
got
this
particular
dream.
I
was
walking
miles
on
the
endless
road,
totally
isolated
but
lined
with
beautiful
trees
on
the
either
side.
Fascinated
by
the
greenery,
I
marched
towards
it
only
to
end
up
deeper
and
deeper
into
the
greenery.
I
happened
to
stop
upon
seeing
something.
It
was
a
massive,
wonderful
house.
I
fell
in
love
with
that
amazing
part
of
art.
Yeah,
it
was
indeed
a
piece
of
art
with
every
nook
and
corner
touched
artistically
and
lovingly.
I
don’t
know
why
I
felt
that
it
was
done
lovingly.
Maybe
because,
things
turn
out
to
be
beautiful
only
when
we
put
our
love
into
it

just
like
the
food
prepared
by
mom
which
tastes
more
delicious
with
her
love.
I
explored
the
house
only
to
fall
more
in
love
with
it.
There
was
a
sloping
roof
which
matched
with
the
greenery
around;
the
large
central
open
courtyard
reminded
me
of
the
activities
that
might
have
taken
place
there
which
felt
lively
even
now
when
it
is
completely
deserted.
The
small
water
body
that
kept
the
house
cool
added
to
the
beauty
of
the
house

of
course,
it
was
all
dried
up
now.
It’s
really
wonderful
how
such
things
add
life
to
the
spaces
which
otherwise
just
become
structures.
Such
liveliness
and
happening
turns
the
house
into
a
home.
They
say
‘THE
HOME
IS
WHERE
THE
HEART
IS’,
but
now
I
began
to
feel
it.
This
is
where
my
heart
belongs.
This
is
what
I’m
destined
to
do.
When
I
woke
up
from
the
dream,
I
was
clear
about
everything.
I
realized
where
that
mile
of
walk
was
intending
me
to
lead.
I
realized
what
message
my
dream
wanted
to
convey
me.
And
years
later,
when
finally
my
turn
of
choosing
my
destination
came,
I
simply
closed
my
eyes,
held
that
book
in
my
hand,
pressed
it
against
my
chest
and
relived
the
dream.
When
I
opened
my
eyes,
I
was
sure
what
to
do.
I
decided
to
choose
the
road

less
traveled.
Yes,
I
took
up
architecture
as
my
profession
because
this
is
what
I
am
destined
to
do.
I
wanted
to
do
the
same
thing
that
the
male
bird
in
the
story
did,
to
take
pain
in
building
a
beautiful
house
and
let
others
stay
in
it.
This
is
my
dream
come
true
and
the
happiness
that
I
gain
now
from
this
profession
is
indescribable.

Where
would

We
certainly
wouldn't

messaging
someone
we
met
six
years
ago.
We
also
wouldn’t
be
able
to
form
a
sentence
using
only
symbols
like
or.
Before
the
Internet
came
into
being,
there
was
no
such
thing
as
“unfriending”
someone.
We
no
longer
require
homes,
bars,
offices
or
cafes
to
keep
in
touch
with
people.
We
can
do
it
wherever
we
happen
to
be.
This
leads
to
some
questions.
When
we
connect
to
our
devices,
are
we
not
connecting
from
the
people
around
us
Are
we
hiding
behind
a
screen
from
the
physical
world
and
becoming
anti-social
in
turn
While
there
is
a
sense
of
panic
about
how
the
Internet
is
damaging
communication,
there
are
also
lots
of
people
who
believe
that
it
is
actually
making
our
friendships
better.
For
better
or
worse,
here
are
a
few
of
the
ways
the
Internet
is
changing
the
way
we
communicate.
Online
relationships.
Online
dating
becomes
cool---it
removed
the
embarrassment
of
forever-alone
sitting
at
home
imaging
long
walks
on
the
beach
and
candlelit
dinner.
According
to
The
New
York
Times,
about
50
million
people
use
Tinder
every
month.
Outside
of
Tinder,
online
dating
has
increased
rapidly
on
platforms
like
RSVP
and
OKCupid.
Gradually,
dating
online
is
just
like
meeting
someone
at
a
bar
these
days.
Everyone
is
an
expert.
The
blogger
vs.
journalist
debate
has
been
very
hot
lately.
While
blogs
are
seen
by
their
readers
as
an
authentic
channel
of
communication,
bloggers’
knowledge
is
often
called
into
question
by
those,
a
journalist,
for
example,
who
have
taken
a
more
traditional
route
to
get
where
they
are.
Thanks
to
the
Internet,
anyone
with
a
keyboard
can
say
anything
they
want.
On
the
other
hand,
online
blogs
have
given
rise
to
voices
that
may
never
have
been
heard
otherwise.
Social
media.
It
has
made
us
communicate
with
a
much
greater
number
of
people
globally
that
used
to
only
be
working
on
a
local
level.
While
this
is
great
when
it
comes
to
keeping
friendships
alive
over
great
distances,
it
also
increases
the
demands
on
people
to
keep
a
much
larger
number
of
relationships
going
at
the
same
time.
Social
media
is
a
great
tool,
but
if
you
find
yourself
looking
through
Facebook
while
you’re
at
a
dinner
party
or
hanging
out
with
others,
it
may
be
time
to
reconsider
your
relationship
with
the
Internet.
No
matter
what
your
opinion
about
whether
the
Internet
has
changed
communication
for
worse
or
better
is
,
there’s
no
doubt
that
it
plays
a
major
role
in
our
lives
today.
So

don’t
want
to
open
it.
Oh,
dear.
M:
What’s
the
matter
W:
We
haven’t
got
200
pounds,
I’m
afraid.
M:
Well,
come
on.
How
much
have
we
got
W:
Only
150
pounds.

W:
Good
evening,
Edward.
M:
Hello,
Tina.
W:
Edward,
tell
us
what
you
know
about
James
Dean’s
early
life.
M:
He
was
born
in
Indiana
in
1931,
but
his
parents
moved
to
California
when
he
was
five.
He
wasn’t
there
long
because
his
mother
passed
away
just
four
years
later.
After
that,
his
father
sent
him
back
to
Indiana
to
live
with
his
aunt.
W:
So
how
did
he
get
into
acting
M:
Well,
first
he
acted
in
plays
in
high
school,
and
then
he
went
to
college
in
California
where
he
got
more
serious
about
acting.
In
1951,
he
moved
to
New
York
to
do
more
stage
acting.
W:
Then
when
did
his
movie
career
really
start
M:
In
1955.
His
first
starring
role
was
in
East
of
Eden.
It
was
an
excellent
movie.
Dean
became
a
huge
success.
W:
How
did
you
get
interested
in
James
Dean
M:
Well,
I
just
thought
he
was
handsome
and
always
looked
so
cool
on
the
screen,
I
guess.

W:
What
sort
of
things
should
I
look
for
when
buying
a
secondhand
car
M:
Well,
first
you
want
to
check
the
outside
of
the
car
to
see
if
it
is
in
good
shape.
W:
Of
course,
I
can
do
that
just
fine.
It’s
what’s
inside
the
car
that
I
have
no
idea
about.
M:
You
mean
the
engine
and
that
stuff
W:
Yeah,
how
can
I
tell
if
I
am
getting
a
good
deal
or
if
they
are
trying
to
take
advantage
of
my
inexperience
M:
Well,
I
can’t
really
explain
all
those
things
to
you,
so
why
don’t
I
just
go
with
you
when
you
look
at
the
car
W:
Would
you
M:
Of
course,
I
have
free
time
on
Saturday.
W:
Is
Sunday
alright
My
son
has
a
football
match
on
Saturday.
M:
That’s
fine.

M:
What
are
you
doing
there
Don’t
you
want
to
rest
after
going
sightseeing
for
a
whole
day
W:
Nope.
I
am
chatting
with
Amy.
M:
Amy
Are
you
on
QQ
W:
No,
we’re
chatting
on
MSN.
She
doesn’t
use
QQ.
M:
You
can
chat
all
you
want
when
we
get
back.
Why
do
you
have
to
chat
now
W:
I
am
telling
her
about
the
necklace
I
bought
today.
She
likes
it
a
lot.
M:
You
showed
her
a
photo
of
it
W:
We
were
video
chatting.
Now
she’s
thinking
about
buying
some
jewelry
here
too.
M:
Is
she
planning
on
coming
with
a
tour
group
sometime
W:
No,
I
am
doing
the
shopping
for
her
once
she
decides
what
she
wants.
M:
What
You
mean
we
have
to
bring
them
back
for
her
W:
That’s
right.
Oh,
I
just
got
a
message
that
she
wants
a
necklace
and
a
ring
and
she
trusts
me
to
choose
them
for
her.
M:
I
give
the
thumbs
down
to
that.
We
have
four
big
bags
already.
I
can’t
carry
any
more
luggage!
W:
What
It’s
just
some
tiny
jewelry.
M:
Who
knows
what
your
other
friends
will
want
Now,
why
don’t
you
let
me
use
the
laptop
I
want
to
send
Jim
some
photos.
W:
Don’t
be
so
hard
on
me!
Let
me
buy
the
jewelry
for
Amy.
M:
Fine,
but
you
have
to
promise
you
won’t
buy
anything
heavy
or
big
during
this
trip.
W:
You
have
my
word.

The
other
day
after
work,
I
was
walking
down
the
street
and
I
saw
the
strangest
thing.
I
saw
this
guy
riding
a
unicycle,
you
know,
one
of
those
bicycles
with
only
one
wheel.
It’s
not
every
day
you
see
that.
But
that
wasn’t
even
the
weirdest
thing
about
this
guy.
He
was
dressed
in
all
pink
from
head
to
toe

pink
shoes,
pink
socks,
pink
pants,
pink
shirt...
even
a
pink
hat!
And
that’s
not
all.
The
guy
was
singing
as
he
rode
down
the
street!
Some
kind
of
song
about
flying
or
something...
I
didn’t
recognize
it,
but
it
sounded
like
a
kid’s
song.
So
all
these
people
in
suits
and
ties
who
had
just
left
their
offices
were
just
staring
at
this
guy,
and
the
whole
time
I
was
thinking,
“This
guy
must
be
totally
crazy.”
Just
then,
some
guy
dropped
a
20?dollar
bill
on
the
ground,
but
he
didn’t
realize
it
and
started
to
walk
away.
The
guy
in
pink
picked
up
the
money,
caught
up
to
the
guy,
and
gave
it
back
to
him!
He
even
sang
a
little
song,
and
everyone
laughed
and
clapped
their
hands.
After
that,
the
man
rode
his
unicycle
down
the
street,
turned
a
corner,
and
disappeared.
I
never
saw
him
again.
But
every
time
I
see
someone
drop
some
money
on
the
ground
by
accident,
I
always
think
of
that
strange
guy
dressed
in
pink
who
made
everybody
happy
that
day.

书面表达(共1题,共20分)
One
possible
version:
Most
people
have
a
dream
but
those
who
make
it
a
reality
are
few
and
far
between.
Therefore,
what
counts
is
to
have
the
same
determination
as
the
boy
did.
Life
without
a
dream
proves
to
be
a
frozen
field.
However,
the
dream
turns
out
to
be
an
empty
slogan
unless
you
devote
the
constant
efforts
to
fulfilling
it.
Nobody
can
achieve
anything
without
persistence.
Accordingly,
one
of
the
secret
to
success
is
holding
fast
to
your
dream
whatever
it
happens.
I
have
a
dream
that
one
day
I
can
make
a
commitment
to
the
education
in
the
remote
places
where
children
are
thirsty
for
knowledge.
I
hope
that
my
devotion
will
make
a
difference
to
their
lives.
To
realize
the
dream
not
only
should
I
equip
myself
with
abundant
knowledge
but
also
inspire
more
people
to
join
me
in
helping
those
poor
children
.After
all,
many
hands
make
light
work.
