Charles Chaplin was born in London on April 16, 1889. His parents were music hall actors. The Chaplin family were very poor, and life was difficult in London. Charlie, as he was called, used to do his mother’s job in the theatre when she was ill.
When he was only 17 years old, Chaplin got his first real job as an actor. What he did was to do silly things to make people laugh in the theatre. Seven years later he went to the US. And over the next four years, he formed his own way of art. He developed the character(角色)of a homeless gentleman which became very popular.21cnjy.com
From the 1920s to the 1950s, Chaplin made his most famous films. The film Modern Times(1936)shows his care about the modern industry workers. Many of his films describe the poor life and hard time of the working people during that period.2-1-c-n-j-y

Einstein often received invitations to explain his theories at different universities. On these trips, his driver Hans often said to him, “It’s a pleasure to drive a genius like you, Dr Einstein.”

“I know what to do,” said Hans. “I can give the lecture for you. You can trust me. I’ve listened to your lecture so many times that I’ve learnt it by heart. No one knows you at this university, so they won’t find out.”
Many people consider Albert Einstein (1879–1955) a genius. This story about him shows that he also had a sense of humour.

Einstein turned pale. “Oh no!” he thought. “Now we’re in trouble.” But Hans just laughed and said, “That’s such an easy question that even my driver can answer it. Hans, please …”
Einstein stood up and answered the question perfectly.
They left the university, with Einstein driving. A little later, Hans offered to drive. “No,” laughed Einstein. “It’s a pleasure to drive a genius like you, Hans.”
