B
Since
he
was
nine,
Babar
Ali
has
been
running
his
own
school
in
a
small
village,
passing
on
to
the
children
of
poor
families
the
knowledge
he
has
acquired(学到)at
his
school
during
the
day.
It
began
when
children
in
his
village
asked
him
questions
about
what
he
learned
at
the
1,000-rupee-a-year
school
their
parents
could
not
afford.
“It
started
when
without
much
effort”,
he
says.
“There
were
lots
of
children
who
had
dropped
out
of
school(辍学),
or
never
been
to
school
at
all.
They
were
always
asking
questions
about
my
lessons
and
I
would
repeat
everything
for
them.
“There
used
to
be
just
eight
pupils,
and
my
friends
helped
me
with
the
teaching.
We
worked
on
the
standard
of
teaching.
The
word
spread
to
nearby
villages,
and
gradually
we
took
on
more
and
more
students.
Fives
years
later,
the
school
has
a
total
of
10
teachers,
all
of
whom
are
students
at
school,
and
650
pupils.
On
a
typical(典型的)day,
Babar
will
rise
at
5
am,
do
housework,
then
take
a
bus
to
school
in
a
village
three
miles
away.
From
10
am
to
4
pm,
he
focuses
on(集中注意力于)his
own
studies,
then
he
races
back
to
his
village
to
welcome
his
students
at
5
pm.
H
teaches
until
8
pm.
The
teaching
doesn’t
make
him
tired,
he
says,
but
gives
him
more
strength
to
keep
up
his
busy
life.
His
parents
are
filled
with
pride.
His
father,
Nasiruddin,
was
shocked
when
he
first
discovered
his
son
was
teaching.
“I
couldn’t
believe
it.
He’s
always
rushing
from
place
to
place
and
I
was
worried
it
might
affect
his
studies.
So
I
visited
his
school.
Seeing
his
dedication(奉献)to
teaching
cleared
my
doubts,”
he
says.
In
2009,
Babar
was
named
the
“youngest
headmaster
in
the
world”
by
BBC.
From
then
on,
his
story
appeared
in
many
textbooks,
and
now
he
is
regularly
invited
to
speak
at
many
meetings
all
over
the
world.
24.

started
teaching
the
children
nearby
_____.
A.
because
he

pay
for
his
studies.

ask
him
questions.

their
parents
asked
him
to
do
so.
D.
when
he
was
quite
a
young
boy.
25.
As
time
went
by,
Babar_____.
A.
is
planning
to
set
up
more
schools.
B.
had
to
ask
some
teachers
to
help
him.
C.
gradually

his
school
bigger
and
bigger.
D.
had
to
drop
out
of
school
to
teach
other
children.
26.

he
works
very
long
hours.
B.
To
explain
why
he
feels
tired
at
the
end
of
a
day.
C.
To
show
he
works
much
harder
than
other
teachers.
D.
To
explain
why
he
has
no
tome
to
stay
with
his
family.
27.
How
did
Babar’s
father
react
to
his
teaching
at
first
A.
He
was
very
surprised.
B.
He
was
proud
of
Babar.
C.
He
had
doubts
about
Babar’s
ability.
D.
He
was
unhappy
about
Babar’s
decision.
C
Homelessness
is
a
big
problem
across
the
world.
Many
people
and
organizations
are
working
to
solve
it.
Mel
Young
from
Scotland
and
Harald
Schmied
from
Austria
are
two
such
people.
In
2001,
the
two
men
attended(参加)an
international
conference
about
the
problem
of
homelessness.
Later,
they
began
to
wonder
if
football
could
help
solve
the
problem.
In
2003,
they
decided
to
start
the
Homelessness
World
Cup
organization.
It
chooses
and
trains
local
homeless
people
for
the
yearly
football
competition.
Today,
about
500
people
from
almost
50
countries
play
in
the
Homeless
World
Cup.
And
the
program
is
changing
lives.
Damien
is
from
Ireland.
For
many
years,
he
struggled
with
drug
addiction(吸毒成瘾).
But
in
2006,
he
played
for
Ireland’s
Homeless
World
Cup
team,
and
since
then,
he
has
been
drug
free.
Many
of
the
Homeless
World
Cup
players,
like
Damien,
have
struggled
with
drug
addiction.
However,
some
players
are
homeless
because
of
poverty(贫穷).
Alex
is
one
of
them.
He
says,
“I
was
born
in
Mathare,
the
biggest,
worst
slum(贫困窟)in
Kenya.
I
could
not
find
anything
to
eat.
Also
schooling
was
a
problem.
My
life
started
when
I
started
playing
football.”
Football
gave
Alex
joy.
It
taught
him
to
work
hard
and
helped
him
believe
that
he
could
achieve
something.
Football
can
even
help
people
who
have
experienced
extreme
tragedy.
Najib,
a
young
man
from
Afghanistan,
has
lived
through
much
war.
Many
of
his
family
members
have
died.
But
football
has
helped
him
survive.
“It
is
only
during
the
games
that
I
do
not
think
about
my
situation.
I’m
not
interested
in
anything
other
than
football
and
it’s
the
only
thing
I
desire,”
Najib
explains.
Drugs,
poverty
and
war
are
common
causes
of
homelessness.
Playing
in
a
football
competition
may
not
directly
treat
drug
addition,
solve
poverty
or
end
war.
But
it
can
give
people
emotional(情感上的)strength
and
help
them
learn
important
life
skills.
28.
What
do
we
know
about
the
Homeless
World
Cup
A.
It
is
held
every
year.
B.
It
first
took
place
in
2001.
C.
It
is
the
idea
of
two
troubled
football
lovers.
D.
It
was
introduced
at
an
international
conference.
29.
After
playing
in
the
Homeless
World
Cup,
Alex
______.
A.
gave
up
taking
drugs.
B.
began
to
live
a
rich
life.
C.
got
a
good
school
education.
D.
became
confidence
about
the
future.
30.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“desire”
in
Paragraph
4
probably
mean
A.
remember.
B.
watch.
C.
want.
D.
create.
31.
What
would
be
the
best
title
for
this
text
A.
Football
for
everyone.
B.
Last
hope
for
the
homeless.
C.
End
homelessness
from
now
on.
D.
Beat
homelessness
through
football.
D
A
few
years
ago,
a
company
called
Space
Marketing
came
up
with
a
plan
to
send
a
mile-long
advertisement
into
space.
To
advertising
agencies(机构),it
would
have
been
‘a
dream
come
true’.
However,
advertising
standards
agencies
finally
decided
not
to
allow
Space
Marketing
to
go
ahead
with
their
plans
and
they
were
forced
to
give
them
up.
Space
may
indeed
be
the
final
place
for
advertisers,
because
on
Earth
we
are
already
surrounded
by
advertising
wherever
we
are
and
whatever
we
are
doing.
Apart
from
the
obvious
ads
that
we
see
every
day
on
TV,
and
in
newspapers
and
magazines,
there
is
a
whole
‘other
world’
of
advertising
messages
fighting
for
our
attention.
There
are
ads
that
we
see
on
the
side
of
the
bus
we
catch
to
work,
for
example.
And
what
about
the
logos(商标)we
see
on
the
clothing
of
the
people
we
walk
past
in
the
streets
Most
of
the
time,
we
are
probably
not
even
aware
of(意识到)these
less
obvious
advertising
methods,
but
that
doesn’t
mean
that
they
don’t
work.
Take
‘product
placement’,for
example.
You
are
in
a
cinema,
watching
the
latest
Hollywood
movie.
Look
carefully
at
the
make
of
car
your
favorite
actor
is
driving.
And
what
about
his
watch
Can
you
see
what
brand
it
is
Chances
are
that
you
can,
and
the
company
that
owns
the
brand
is
likely
to
have
paid
thousands
for
it
to
appear
in
the
film.
So,
whether
Space
Marketing
finally
succeeds
in
spending
ads
into
space
or
not
is
perhaps
less
important
than
it
might
seem.
This
would
not
change
a
thing.
Our
everyday
lives
are
already
strongly
influenced
by
advertising,
whether
we
realize
it
or
not.
32.
What
happened
to
the
plan
of
sending
an
ad
into
space
A.
It
came
to
nothing.
B.
It
was
a
dream
come
true.
C.
It
had
to
wait
a
few
years
before
it
was
carried
out.
D.
It
was
supported
by
the
advertising
standards
agencies.
33.
How
does
the
author
explain
the
‘other
world’
of
advertising
messages
A.
By
showing
research
findings.
B.
By
explain
reasons.
C.
By
giving
suggestions.
D.
By
using
examples.
34.
As
a
form
of
advertising,
product
placement______.
A.
costs
a
little.
B.
doesn’t
work.
C.
is
less
obvious
than
TV
ads.
D.
mainly
appears
in
Hollywood
movies.
35.
What
does
the
author
suggest
at
the
end
of
the
text
A.
We
live
in
a
world
of
advertising.
B.
We’ve
changed
a
lot
because
of
advertising.
C.
Space
Marketing
leads
in
the
advertising
industry.
D.
Space
ads
will
mark
the
beginning
of
a
new
world.

How
to
Become
an
Effective
Leader
The
key
to
becoming
an
effective
leader
is
not
to
focus
on
making
other
people
follow,
but
on
making
yourself
the
kind
of
person
they
want
to
follow.
36________
It
takes
time
to
become
a
trustworthy(值得信耐的)leader.
As
you
prepare
yourself
to
become
a
better
leader,
use
the
following
tips
to
help
you
grow:
Don’t
be
self-centered.
The
truly
great
leaders
are
not
in
leadership
for
personal
gain.
37________
Perhaps
that
is
why
Lawrence
Bell
remarked,
“A
man
who
cannot
bother
to
do
little
things
for
others
are
unlikely
to
become
a
good
leader.”
38________
Rare
is
the
effective
leader
who
didn’t
learn
to
become
a
good
follower
first.
That
is
why
a
leadership
institution
such
as
the
United
States
Military
Academy
teaches
its
officers
to
become
effective
followers
first.
Work
with
excellence.
No
one
respects
and
follows
mediocrity(平庸).
Leaders
who
earn
the
right
to
lead
give
their
all
to
what
they
do.
They
bring
into
play(发挥)
not
only
their
skills
and
talents,
but
also
great
passion
and
hard
work.
39________
Give
your
power
away.
What
makes
leadership
so
special
is
that
you
become
a
better
leader
by
sharing
whatever
power
you
have,
not
by
saving
it
all
for
yourself.
40________
If
you
use
your
power
to
empower
(授权)
others,
your
leadership
will
extend
far
beyond
your
grasp.
A.
They
lead
in
order
to
serve
other
people.
B.
Become
a
good
follower
first.
C.
You
are
meant
to
be
a
river,
not
a
pool.
D
.They
perform
on
the
highest
level
of
which
they
are
capable
E.
Leaders
help
people
to
reach
their
potential.
F.
Leadership
is
influence,
nothing
more,
nothing
less.
G.
Leadership
isn’t
learned
or
earned
in
a
moment.

文:
In
recent
years,
many
students
have
taken
tough
measures
to
forbid
students
to
bring
their
mobile
phones
to
school.
However,
some
students
break
this
rule
and
some
students
even
play
with
their
mobile
phones
in
class,
which
makes
the
teacher
frustrated.
The
disadvantages
of
students
bringing
mobile
phones
to
school
are
obvious.
On
the
one
hand,mobile
phones
can
distract
students’
attention.
On
the
other
hand,
some
students
may
get
access
to
some
unhealthy
websites,
which
are
bad
for
their
development.
Worse
still,
some
students
are
likely
to
compare
the
brands
of
their
mobile
phones
with
their
classmates’.
In
my
opinion,
I
strongly
support
banning
mobile
phones
in
schools.
Only
in
this
way
can
we

energies
to

study
and
achieve
our
goals.
