Time: 45minutes
Analysis of the teaching material and Learning condition: This is the second period of this unit. I will teach the material from 3a to3c. It focuses on the sentence structures “ Is it on/ under/ in… ” “ No, it isn’t.”; “ Are they on/ under/ in… ” “No, they aren’t.” The students are interested in guessing game. They can guess by using these sentence structures. But they find them difficult to learn because they seem abstract. They have difficulty in writing them. And they are tend to mix “Yes/ No question” with declarative sentence.
The Rearrangement of the Teaching Material: The material of this part is mainly for students to practice. But most of them are mechanic but not meaningful. So I will creat situations for meaningful practice.
Teaching Objectives:
1.Languge skills: Use “Yes/ No question” to guess the place of something.
2.Languge knowledge:sentence structures like “ Is it on/ under/ in… ”
“ Are they on/ under/ in… ” “I don’t know.” , etc.
2. Feelings and attitudes: get more interested in English.
3. Learning strategies: learn to cooperate with each other.
Key points: the sentence structures “ Is it on/ under/ in… ” “ No, it isn’t.”; “ Are they on/ under/ in… ” “No, they aren’t.”; I don’t know.

I will show a picture of Garfield, and ask the students “Where is Garfield ” without any hint. Some of the students may answer “I don’t know. ” That’s what I want.

Then I will lead students to analyze the meaning and structure of this sentence.
Step3. Guessing game(5min)
I will write the sentence structure “--Is it on/under/in… ” and the words about furniture on ppt, and let the students to guess where Garfield is. I will not them get the answer easily, so that they can hear my answer “ No, it isn’t.” for many times.

Lesson Type: Reading and writing
Time: 45minutes
Analysis of the teaching material: This is the reading lesson of this unit. It is a little long and difficult for the students to read. And the relationship among the characters appearing in the text is complicated. In addition, there are many language points in the reading material.
Learning condition: The students are in grade one of junior middle school, they like something concrete but not abstract. The language points in this reading material seem a little abstract for the students, so it may be difficult for them to learn.
Teaching Objectives:
1.Languge skills: write an English note to ask for help.
2.Language knowledge:
a.Learn the word “need”.
b.Tell the difference between “take…to…” and “bring…to…”.
c.Use sentence structures “Please take these things to your sister” and “Can you bring some things to school ” to ask for help.

Time: 45minutes
Analysis of the teaching material: These two unit talks about the topic of a family and things around a house. To some degree, they are related. Both of them begin from a family. And the language points which they present are related. Both of them concern about the singular and plural form of the declarative sentence structure, and their Yes or No questions.
Learning condition: The students are in Grade Seven. Though they seem not have a good foundation, most of them have a desire to learn English. And they like to learn English through pictures and activities. They can speak English well, but when they write, they will make many mistakes.
Teaching Material: In this lesson, I will use some exercise from the student’s exercise books.

Lesson Type: listening and speaking
Time: 45minutes
Analysis of the teaching material: The lesson I am going to teach is from Unit4 Where’s my backpack 7A Go for it! The topic of this unit is things around the house, which is familiar to the students. In this united, there are many words about school things which the students have learned in unit2,and the conversation of the listening material are among family members, the words of which have been learned in Unit3.The main sentence structures in the unit are: “Where’s… ” “It’s….”
Learning condition: The students are from the Eighth Middle School of Wenzhou. They are in grade one. Most of them are active in class, and are interested in English. But in the beginning of junior middle school study, they need to build a solid foundation in learning English. So they need more practice in pronunciation and speaking in English with some simple sentence structures. As for the skill of listening, they need to improve it gradually.
The Rearrangement of the Teaching Material: This is the first period of this unit. It’s a listening and speaking lesson. Since the listening material is a little difficult for the student, so I will put it after I finish the teaching of both the vocabulary and sentence structures.
Teaching Objectives:
1.Languge skills: speak in English with simple sentence structures they have learned; listen for key words.
2.Language knowledge: get familiar with the words about things around the house; learn the prepositions on, in, under and the sentence structures: “Where’s… ” “It’s on/in/under….” “Where are… ” “They are on/in/under….”
3.Culture awareness: get to know the furniture and their places in an American house.
3. Feelings and attitudes: learn to appreciate a tidy room.
4.Learning strategies: listen for key words

Activity1: Learn the new words through pictures(6min)
Through the pictures of rooms in an American house, students learn the new words: table, bed, dresser, bookcase, sofa, chair, drawer, etc. by asking the students “What’s this in English ” one by one. Meanwhile, I will let the students pay attention to the pronunciation of the letter “a” in each words.
【设计意图】通过图片学习生词,直观形象。同时可以让学生欣赏美国人的家居摆设,达到文化目标。通过归纳字母a 的发音,为学生通过拼读单词记忆打基础。

Let the students recollect the words they have just learned by reminding them their places. For example, “what’s in the bedroom ”

Learn these prepositions with the help three groups of pictures. Each group presents one of the prepositions. And there is one group at last to present the plural form of the sentence structure.

Activity3: Practice (7min)

Time: 45minutes
Analysis of the teaching material: This is the third period of the unit. The material I am going to teach is from Section B 1a to 2b. It’s mainly about the place of things around a room. This lesson is very important. It functions as the foundation of the writing lesson.
Learning condition: The students are in grade one. They have learned English for more than three years. They can learn the words quickly. But they find it difficult to remember them. They can’t relate the pronunciation of a word with its spelling. So they need more practice in pronunciation and speaking in English with some simple sentence structures. As for the skill of listening, they need to improve it gradually.
The Rearrangement of the Teaching Material: The listening material in SectionB 2a,2b is a little difficult for the students. They may find it difficult to take notes while listening. So I will make a form for them to fill in as another form of taking notes.

Step7 Our classroom (6min)
Suppose I am new here, and ask the students to introduce the things in the classroom and their places. For example, the pictures are on the wall. And write them down.
【设计意图】学以致用,运用所学句型描述教室,巩固所学句型。情境真实。通过再次写句子,不断纠正学生在写的过程中容易出现的问题,如大小写、标点问题。
