B
There’s
something
about
Minot
that
I’m
always
going
to
carry
with
me.
When
it
got
hit
last
year
by
the
worst
flooding
in
its
history,
there
was
this
feeling
of
helplessness.
You just watched
this
water
slowly
rise
and
flood
the
city.
It
was
heartbreaking.
But
this
is
a
community
of
people
that
are
extremely
strong
and
not
afraid
to
roll
up their sleeves
and
work
to
get
it
back
to
normal.
I’ve
tried
to
bring
as
much
awareness
to
Minot
as
I
can,
and
raise
as
much
money
as
I
can.
We
held
a
concert
last
year, where
my
wife
singer
Fergie
talked
her
band
the
Black
Eyed
Peas
into
coming
in
and
doing
a
benefit
concert.
From
it
we
raised
$2
million
towards
the
rebuilding
effort,
which
was
really
cool.
We
won
a
contest
for
Oak
Park
as
well,
to
start
rebuilding
on
that.
Roosevelt
Park
Zoo
is
one
of
my
oldest
memories.
I remember having
a
birthday
party
there
as
a
kid.
We
used
to
go
to
look
at
the
monkeys
and
other
animals
in the summer
when
it
was
open.
But
after
last
year’s
flood,
it
was
almost
washed
away,
and
they’ve
got
go
start
from
scratch.
I
think
the
$25,000
dollars
is
a
great
start,
but
we’re
going
to
have
to
raise
a lot
more
to
get
it
back
to
right.
Luckily, the community
itself
is
developing,
so
it’s
just
a
matter
of
those
doing
whatever
they
can
to
help the
community
to
get
it
back
to
normal.
However,
it’s
going
to
be
a
number
of
years
for
a
third
of
the
homes
were
lost.
That
will
take
a
long
time
to
heal,
and
if
anyone
in
the
world
can
get
through
it,
it’s
the
people
in
Minot.
25.
The

Minot

the

by______.

much
money
as
the
could
C.
calling
for
the
people’s
awareness
to
stay
calm
D.
asking
his
wife’s
band
to
play
to
comfort
the
people
26.
The
author
helped
rebuild
Roosevelt
Park
Zoo
mainly
because______.
A.
it
was
important
for
the
children
B.
many
performances
were
held
there
C.
it
was
destroyed
the
most seriously by
the
flood
D.it
reminded
him
of
his
happy
childhood
27.
Which
of
the
following
did
the
author
show
to
us
in
the
text
A.
The
ways
of
helping
each
other
in the flood
B.
His
deep
love
to
his
hometown
C.
The
difficulty
of
rebuilding
homes
in
his
hometown
D.
His
worry
about
the
future
life
of
the
people
in
Minot
C
Not
every
parent
looks
forward
to
the
day
when
their
child
goes
off
to
school.
In
fact
some
parents
are
not
sending
their
children
to
school
at
all.
Instead
they
are
choosing
to
teach
their
children
at
home.
This
is
called
homeschooling.
Parents,
caregivers,
or
private
tutors
educate
children
individually
at
home
instead
of
sending
them
off
to
be
formally
educated
in
public
or
private
schools.
In
the
U.S.
only
about
three
percent
of
children
are
homeschooled.
There
are
many
reasons
why
some
parents
choose
to
homeschool.
One
reason
is
that
some
parents
do
not
feel
their
children
are
safe
in
school
because
of
bullying
(恃强凌弱).
It
is
said
that
bullying
is
very
common
in
the
school.
Other
parents
want
their
children's
education
to
be
based
on
their
religion
or
moral
beliefs.
Yet
other
parents
think
the
education
in
school
is
not
good
enough.
Homeschooling
is
also
seen
as
a
choice
for
families
that
live
in
rural
areas,
and
families
that
move
frequently.
There
are
many
different
ways
to
homeschool,
and
homeschooling
allows
parents
to
design
lessons
based
on
their
children's
needs.
Families
can
purchase
textbooks
to
use
or
create
their
own
materials.
Some
parents
follow
a
philosophy
called
unschooling,
which
allows
a
child
to
determine
when
and
how
they
want
to
learn
based
on
their
natural
ability.
Some
worry
that
homeschooling
means
students
won’t
have
opportunities
to
communicate
with
others.
To
solve
this
problem,
some
families
have
created
activities,
where
a
group
of
homeschooled
students
will
learn
and
play
together
and
participate
in
activities
that
would
normally
happen
in
school
like
field
trips.
Besides,
being
homeschooled
doesn’t
mean
a
student
cannot
go
to
college.
Most
colleges
accept
homeschooled
students.
And
the
homeschooled
students
can
get
the
same
degrees,
too.

parents
cannot
afford
the
education
fees
in

School
bullying
exists
in
some
schools.
C.
Some
children
want
their
education
to
be
based
on
their
religion.
D.

far
away.
30.

India
now
leads
the
world
in
smartphone
growth.
It
saw
a
55%
increase
in
the
number
of
smartphone
in
2014.
The
number
of
Web
users
increased
by
37
%.
Smartphones
were
the
source
of
65
%
of
its
Internet
traffic
and
41
%
of
its
e-commerce,
according
to
a
report
by
the
analyst
Mary
Meeker,
titled
“Internet
Trends
2015”.
India’s
Internet
boom
has
started.
Within
three
or
four
years,
almost
every
adult
in
India
will
own
a
smartphone.
They
will
be
used
to
order
goods,
read
news,
monitor
crop
growth
and
so
on.
Indian
adults
will
be
very
interested
in
these
devices
just
as
young
Americans
are.
87
%
of
Americans
between
the
ages
of
18
and
34
who
own
smartphones
say
they
never
separate
from
these:
“My
smartphone
never
leaves
my
side.”
Four
out
of
five
say
that
the
first
thing
they
do
on
waking
is
to
reach
for
their
smartphones.
And
three
fifths
believe
that
in
the
next
five
years
everything
will
be
done
on
mobile
devices.
In
the
business
world,
the
rise
of
mobile
platforms
is
dramatically
transforming
many
industries
all
over
the
world.
What
Indian
software
developers
have
to
do
is
to
start
thinking
about
solutions
to
old
problems
by
using
all
the
features
of
these
new
devices.
They
need
to
take
advantage
of
the
unique
properties
of
smartphones
and
tablets.
As
Indian
software
developers
and
enterprises
master
the
smartphone,
they
will
be
able
to
export
their
solutions
to
the
rest
of
the
world.
This
will
make
possible
a
new
tech
revolution
that
is
greater
than
what
created
India’s
IT
industry
in
the
1980s
and
1990s.
We
can
expect
the
rapid
transformation
of
India
when
a
billion
people
become
connected
and
have
equal
access
to
information
and
services.

use
to
exercise,
to
read
that
book
you've
been
meaning
to
finish.
___37___
Do
the
Important
Tasks
First
Once
you
get
to
work,
get
the
important
ones
done
first (not
the
easy
ones,
or
even
the
urgent
ones).You
can
afford
to
spend
at
least
an
hour
working
on
big,
important
tasks
rather
than
on
all
those
little
urgent
ones.___38__The
urgent
tasks
will
still
get
done,
and
you
won't
miss
the
important
ones.
Reduce
Interruptions
If
colleagues
have
a
habit
of
hanging
around
your
desk
to
chat,
or
if
the
phone
is
constantly
ringing,
you
might
find
that
it
takes
you
half
the
day
to
finish
a
simple
task
like
writing
a
letter.
Constant
interruptions
don't
just
eat
up
time,
they
also
break
your
concentration.
When
you've
got
a
big
task
to
focus
on,
let
your
calls
go
to
voicemail.
___39___Wearing
headphones
makes
it
less
likely
that
people
will
try
to
strike
up
a
conversation.
___40___
A
few
minutes
chatting,
browsing
the
web,
and
so
on,
can
easily
turn
into
hours
of
wasted
over
the
course
of
a
day.
When
you’re
working,
work.
If
your
concentration
is
slipping,
take
a
proper
break:
go
and
get
a
glass
of
water,
or
stretch
your
legs
a
bit.
And
if
you’re
facing
a
difficult
task,
try
breaking
it
into
small
steps
or
stages
so
that
it’s
easier
to
deal
with.
A.Stay
Focused
on
Your
Work
B.Take
Breaks
When
Necessary
C.Would
you
want
me
to
make
your
day
longer
D.I
can't
magically
make
all
your
days
25
hours
long
E.Or
simply
to
get
your
day
off
to
a
calm
and
organized
start
F.If
you
have
an
office
door,
close
it
G.If
you
work
like
this,
you'll
usually
save
time

Recently
the
students
in
our
class
have
had
a
heated
discussion
on
if
people
should
keep
pets
at
home
in
cities.
We
have
two
different
opinions.
Some
students
thought
it’s
a
good
idea
to
keep
pets
because
many
old
people
who
will
live
alone
at
home
can
get
some
comfort
from
them.
Besides,
get
along
well
with
animals
will
make
our
life
interesting.
However,
others
are
against
the
idea.
In
their
opinions,
if
too
many
people
keep
pets
at
home,
it’s
harmful
for
the
environment.
What
is
worse,
pets
may
make
too
many
noise
and
even
attack
people.
As
for
me,
I’m
in
favor
of
former.
I
don’t
think
it’s
bad
for
us
to
keep
pets
at
home.
But
you
must
take
some
measures
to
prevent
them
from
serious
polluting
our
environment.
