a.Be able to communicate with the classmates according to the given situations using the words and sentences the pupils have just learned.
b. To understand and act the story.

Let the pupils know the importance of protecting nature
Teaching Aids: Power Point, word cards
Teaching procedure:
Procedure Content Method Purpose
Pre-task Sing a SongA chant. 1.Song 《colours》2.Say a chant. To set a relaxed atmosphere at the beginning of the lesson.
While - task New words: rainbow, violet Read and practice the words.Read a short paragraph.
The beginning of the story Guess why Mother Rainbow is sad. Arouse kids’ interests to know about the story.
The part of colour brothersTalk about the other colours 1. Listen to the colour brothers’( violet, blue and green) argument about themselves.2. Learn the words: mountain and sea.(Say some rhymes)Talk about other colours’ argument. To practise kids’ listening skills and help them to get a general idea about the story.Develop kids’ speaking abilities.To encourage students expressing their own opinions.
Act out the story. Act out the beginning of the story and the part of colour brothers’ argument. To enjoy and feel the story.
The end of the story Listen to the end of the story.Try to help kids to understand the meaning of the sun’s words. To understand the meaning of the sun’s words.
Post-task Emotion education:Nature is colorful.Please don’t pick the flowers. Don’t climb the trees. And don’t leave rubbish. Read the last part, enjoy the story and get to know “All the colours are important. We should protect the colourful nature.”(1)Listen to the teacher.(2) Read after the teacher. Through the end of the story, teacher helps kids know that people shouldprotect the colourful nature.
Homework: 1. Share the story with your friends.2. Do the exercise: your favourite colour.
