Around the world more and more people are taking part in dangerous sports and activities. Of course, there have always been people who have looked for adventure—those who have climbed the highest mountains, travelled into unknown parts of the world or sailed in small boats across the greatest oceans. Now, however, there are people who look for an immediate excitement from a risky activity which may only last a few minutes or even seconds.
I would consider bungee jumping (蹦极跳) to be a good example of such an activity. You jump from a high place with a rubber rope tied to your ankles. You fall at up to 150 kilometers an hour until the rope stops you from hitting the ground. It is said that about 2 million people around the world have now tried bungee jumping. Other activities which most people would say are risky as bungee jumping include jumping from tall buildings and diving into the sea from the top of the high cliffs (悬崖).
Why do people take part in such activities as these Some psychologists (心理学家) suggest that it is because life in modern societies has become safe and boring. According to many people, life offers little excitement. They live and work in comparatively(相对地)safe conditions; they buy food in shops; and there are doctors and hospitals to look after them if they become ill. The answer for some of these people is to look for danger in activities such as bungee jumping.

Welcome every morning with a smile. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo(回响) through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don’t waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.
Starting the day right can give good momentum (动力) for the rest of the day. Having a power morning is a key factor for a fruitful day. Here are some tips on getting the most out of the morning.
Wake up early. In theory, there’s no difference in waking up early or late as long as you get the proper amount of sleep. However, there is a psychological advantage when you wake up earlier than the average person and then you’ll have more time to do preparation before engaging in the real world. Exercise. Good health is always a benefit with exercise, but studies have also shown that morning exercise helps you to sleep better at nights. Eat breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day. According to the Mayo Clinic, we should choose three from the following four: fruits and vegetables, grains, dairy, and protein. Did you know that you can actually gain weight when you skip breakfast Take a shower. When you shower, do you do it in the morning or at night I used to shower in the evenings, but I found that morning showers helped me to be more smart. Prioritize (优先) your To-Do list. Leo coined the acronym(首字母缩略词) MIT to mean “most important tasks.” Our to-do list might be never ending, but put on top of the list a couple of urgent tasks that will define the day to be a successful one. Check your emails. Only once. Getting a lot of emails can be very distractive(分散精力的). You actually are more productive when you check them only a few times at fixed time of the day. I only do them 2-3 times a day—once in the morning, once at lunch, and one more as it gets toward the end of the day.

In most Chinese tea villages, March is the time of year in which locals start to pick and process tea. The usually quiet villages suddenly become crowded centers of activity, as people take out special tools and prepare for tea processing. In some villages, local residents hold traditional ceremonies, thanking heaven for its blessing. The price of tea picked in March is extremely high because it is fresh, tender and contains multiple trace elements.
China has been famous for tea production since ancient times. Of the goods transported and traded along the Old Silk Road linking China to the Middle East and Europe, the importance of tea was matched only by silk. China produces Oolong, black, green, white, yellow and dark tea. The Oolong, green and black varieties are most famous for their high quality.
Most of China's tea villages are found in remote mountainous areas in the country's south and southwest, where the beautiful scenery is often hidden under clouds.

ANGELA Chang didn’t think it would be so hard to turn singing into a career. She went to many different record companies. But the Taiwanese girl was always turned down for looking too young and small.
“I’d never had such difficulties before,” Chang said. “My confidence was smashed (粉碎) to pieces.”
Chang's talent was finally recognized in 2002. When she got a contract (合同), she burst into tears.
She soon became a star. Her first album Over the Rainbow (《飞越彩虹》) sold very well. She won many awards.
“You wouldn't believe such a powerful voice could come from such a small body,” said one musician after hearing Chang sing. “She has a special voice. You can't forget it.”
Never give up
But the 25-year-old has other talents too. Chang is also an actress. She has starred in the popular Taiwanese TV dramas, My MVP Valentine (《MVP情人》) and At Dolphin Bay (《海豚湾恋人》). Many people remember her ordinary-girl parts in the dramas.
But acting is difficult. Chang once acted so badly that she was nearly fired. Another time it took her 27 tries to get a scene right.
“I cried when I got back home,” Chang said. “But I knew that I wouldn't always fail. You only fail when you give up.”
Now with four albums behind her-Over the Rainbow, Aurora (《欧若拉》), Pandora (《潘朵拉》) and Flower in the Wonderland, it's clear that Chang and music were made for each other. As she sings in one song: “I have a pair of invisible (隐形的) wings. They fly me to the skies and give me hope.”

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen,
Welcome to our school. My name is Andrew Brown. I’m a history teacher. I’ll give you a quick introduction to the school before I show you around. Our school is called a “free school”. This means that the pupils are free to choose what and how they want to learn.
The school opens at 9:00 am, but the children can arrive whenever they like. Most of them are in school by ten.
If you look through the door of that big room you’ll see those children reading and drawing there.
After lunch it’s someone else’s job to do the washing-up. This job is unpopular. After lunch the children go on with what they’ve been doing until 4:30 p.m.
