Teaching aims:
1. Consolidate the usage of the following sentence patterns:

What is he\she doing He \she is…..
2. Consolidate the following verbs and phrases:
swimming,playing computer games, playing basketball, running,
eating dinner, cleaning the room, doing homework, watching TV, dancing,singing.
3. Master new phrases:
thanks for….; in the first photo…, in the second photo…, in the next photo…,in the last photo…
4.Train the students’ability of reading, speaking,listening.
5. Emotion goals:
Teach students how to cooperate .
Be good at watching something and love our lives.
Teaching key points:
1. master the phrases in teaching aims
2. try to retell the letter using Present Progressive Tense
3. understand the passage correctly.
Teaching difficulties:
1. apply for Present progressive tense.

Teaching Methods:
Listening and reading methods, pairwork, Task-Based Learning method.
Teaching Aids
A tape recorder,some pictures and paper teaching materials.
Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Greetings.
Step 2. Warming up
Show some pictures and ask students some questions as following:
In the first photo, what is he doing
In the second photo, Is she doing housework
In the next photo, What are they doing Are they walking
In the last photo, What are they doing The boy is…..and the girl is….
Then ask students: What are you doing now
Step3.reading
1. Ask students to read the letter in 3a and number the pictures[1-4]
2. Play the tape and ask the students to underline the activities and circle the places.
3. Read 3a again and try to understand the letter correctly. If necessary,they can discuss. Then, teacher explains some difficulties:
1)Thanks for….+n./v-ing == Thank you for….. .+n./v-ing
Eg: Thanks for your help = Thank you for your help.
Thanks for helping me = Thank you for helping me.
Exercise: Thanks for____(give) me the book.
2) in the first photo…, in the second photo…, in the next photo…,in the last photo…
next to…. Eg: The post office is next to the school.
In the next photo, “next” 意为 “ 下一张”,
在这里,它的使用是为了避免序数词的重复。
More phrases about next: the next day(第二天) the next year (下一年)
4. Read aloud
Ask students to read the letter in 3a loudly.
Step4.after-reading
If they are Mike, try to retell the letter in 3a with the information in the chart.
(If necessary,they can discuss)
