Ⅰ. Learning Aims
1. The students are able to use the sentences: Where did you go over your holiday? What did you do over your holiday?
2. The students master the words and phrases: rode a horse, rode a bike, went camping, went fishing, hurt my foot, fell off the bike…
3. The students improve their comprehension of the simple past tense. The students can use the past tense words and phrases to describe their activities.
4. Learn about some cultural knowledge of Xinjiang, China.
Ⅱ. Key points and difficult points
Key points:
1. Words and phrases: rode a horse, rode a bike, went camping, went fishing, hurt my foot, fell off the bike…
2. Sentences: Where did you go over your holiday? What did you do over your holiday?
Difficult points: Some students may not be able to distinguish the pronunciation in the listening materials.

1. Lead-in: a short video to arouse the students’ interest.
2. Self-study: learn the phrases in the text by the students themselves.
3. Task-based reading: enable the students to understand the text in Let’s talk.

Step 1. Greetings
T: Good morning boys and girls. Today we will learn Unit 3 part one. Let’s read the title together---- Where did you go?
Step 2. Lead-in
T: First, let’s watch a short video.
(Play the video. About 1:27 min)
T: Ok. What’s this? Do you know? Do you know Micro blog? Do you have a Micro blog? (Show the pictures of Sina. weibo) Our friend John, he has a Micro blog. He likes writing something in his blog. He wrote something about his holiday. Now let’s find out What did he do over his holiday?
(Make the students to read Let’s learn and find out the answers.)
(Ask some student to answer the questions)
(Lead the students to read the phrases)
Step 3. Listening
T: John hurt his foot. So can he go to school? No, he can’t. His friend Amy gave him a call. What did they talk about? Now let’s listen and find out.

Step 4. Fast-reading
T: After school, Amy called John again. Let’s find out What did they talk about. Read it with your partners.
T: So what did they talk about? Did they talk about John’s foot or John’s holiday?
Setp 5. Careful-reading
T: This time, you should read the text with your partner again. You should read it carefully. After that, you should answer my questions. Here are the questions and the tips.

人教版六年级下册英语教材分析
六年级下册英语教材其实是小学阶段的最后一册,本册课本主要是为了帮助学生梳理、复习整个小学阶段所学内容,打下扎实的基础,为进入初中阶段的英语学习做好准备。
从内容上来讲,本册教材的单元数由以往的六个单元缩减为四个单元(含四个学习单元和一个复习单元),教师大约可用8周左右的时间完成新单元的教学,然后每单元用2~3节课进行复习巩固,复习课可贯穿听、说、读、写及测评等一起进行。如:用归类的形式说出所学有关形容词比较级的单词,并能说出形容词比较级的句型结构;复习过去式时可采用学生喜欢的卡通画复习一些动词的过去式短语,并让学生发挥想象,参照所提供的单词编写一个简单的故事。完成阶段复习后再进入最后的总复习。
本册教材的语言点相对来说比较集中,第一单元比较级,第二、三、四单元都是围绕过去式展开。六年级虽然属于小学高年级,但仍不适合采用讲解语法的教学方式,可以将语言点的教学渗透在各种交际型活动和任务型活动中。
本套教材配有彩色卡通式插图,设计新颖活泼、生动有趣。为增加教学的灵活性和方便教师教学,学生用书按单元设计和编写。每个单元分为A, B, C三个部分,方便教师根据学生的实际情况,有选择地、灵活地安排教学内容,有针对性地设计课堂教学活动,以保证教学实施适度合理。

本节课的学习是人教版英语六年级下册第三单元,实则是第二单元的延续和拓展,要求进一步学习一般现在时态。上个单元重点学习的是 What did you do? 而本节课又增加了 Where did you go? 本节课以复习入手,先复习了第二单元所学的部分动词过去式短语,然后引入第三单元的学习目标,进而进入情境导入。情境导入是一则关于新浪微博的广告,新浪微博作为新生事物,这个年龄的大部分孩子对待微博尚显陌生,也感到很新鲜。虽然陌生,但孩子们的接受能力强。 本堂课的主要问题出在听力方面,孩子们的听力比较有问题,还需要进一步加强训练。但是在小组活动中孩子们都很积极,并且表现很好,踊跃参与,并且能根据要求自主创新,做出了很多有新意也有趣的话题。最后进行了课后总结,发现课堂掌握效果较好,基本的句型和短语都能够掌握。总之,除了听力,其他部分课堂表现比较满意。在以后的教学中,还需要进一步加强听力专项训练。
