【教材分析】
本单元主要介绍一位高中新生第一天到校观察和接触到的人和事物以及个人的感受,内容紧密结合学生现实生活。通过阅读材料让学生对新学校及高中新生活的有所认识,并借助听力,讨论,阅读,写作等一系列扎实有效的教学活动,进一步拓展学生的眼界和知识,提升他们的语言实践能力,并通过掌握相关词汇和语法,培养学生对英语语言的感知。本课时主要内容是语法,即一般现在时的三种不同用法和现在进行时的两种不同用法。课本对这两种时态的用法给出解释,并要求学生判断给出的句子所使用的用法。并要求学生通过学习,能有效地使用这两种时态来谈论现状。
【学情分析】
教学对象为高一学生,刚进入新学校,刚刚接触新的教学模式,正逐步从初中英语学习过渡到高中英语学习。学生学习英语方法由死记硬背转型向理解型并应用到交际上,学会把语言学习与现实生活和兴趣联系起来。初中期间,学生已学到了几种重要时态,但学生对各个时态的用法掌握还是不扎实,不能准确恰当地使用时态。 另外,学生们的水平参差不齐,有些差距还相当大,对语法知识的复习及延伸是非常必要的。一般,学生认为语法学习枯燥,主要是因为语法比较难,抽象,没有充分的语境。我们就是要克服这个问题,先给学生一个语境,即现在的新学校和新生活,然后尽量使语法知识简单化,练习由易到难,逐步让学生有信心有兴趣,融入课堂,积极参与到语法学习当中,轻松地掌握并使用所学知识。
【教学目标】

通过个人活动和集体活动来完成教师所给任务,讨论和发现两种现在时态的语法规则,并用适当的有效练习来巩固和使用两种现在时态。

【教学思路】
以复习阅读课文内容引导学生进入本课语法知识点,先回顾两种现在时态的形式,给予简单的形式判断题,使学生回想初中学习到的知识。再对每种现在时态的用法赋予英语解释,让学生先理论上理解这两种现在时态的基本用法,并给予配套练习逐步巩固学生对两种时态的理解。然后,进行语言的练习。根据时态的不同功能,组织学生开展有话题的, 有语境的口头练习,由陈述句到疑问句,充分地使用语言,再给予书面练习,达到“写”的使用,然后是以做题形式进一步加深学生对时态的用法的理解,并帮助其培养正确使用语言的能力。

Do Activity One in Grammar 1. Give students four sentences from the text and ask them to decide which verbs are in the present simple tense and which verbs in the present continuous tense.

设计意图:通过简单判断练习题,帮助学生形象地回想两种现在时态基本形式,为后面的深入复习作铺垫。
Step Ⅲ: Explanation
(Ⅰ), Ask students to turn to Page 67 and go through Exercise 2. Explain some difficult words if necessary to make sure the students understand these uses well.
The present simple tense can indicate:

something which is always true (e.g. scientific facts)
The present continuous tense can indicate:
something is taking place at this moment(now).
something is taking place in this period of time (e.g. this month, this term, this year)
deal with some difficult words in the part simply.
设计意图:通过必要单词,为学生对两种现在时态的解释扫清词汇障碍,学生们可以充分理解本课语法知识,这也为后面对语言的操练提前做了准备工作。
