本单元的教学对象是小学五年级的学生。这一年级的学生对英语有着更深的向往和憧憬。他们爱玩,爱动,注意力集中的时间较短,因此,教师在课堂设计上应生动活泼,形式多样,这样才能吸引学生的注意力。虽然在英语学习上,这些孩子虽然已经有了一定的英语基础了,但在认知水平上,还需进一步加强,所以教师应该激活孩子们的思维,让英语课堂更贴近学生生活,更富童趣。2·1·c·n·j·y

教学过程
Activity 1 Greetings.
Let’s enjoy a song: We have a music room.
(设计意图:欢快的节奏,让学生未学先有情,为接下来的新课作了铺垫。)
Activity 2 New words
1.The teacher show a picture of school to the students: “ This is Lucy’s new school. Today we’ll visit her new school. First, let’s watch the CD-ROM and circle the new words.”Then the teacher ask someone come to the front to circle on the whiteboard.21·cn·jy·com
2. Let’s use the electronic dictionary to learn the new words. Then the teacher writes down the old words “see” and the new word “ tree”, let them read the same monogram “ee/i:/”, then ask someone to read the new word “tree”.www.21-cn-jy.com

3. Read the new words in groups, then have a match. The first match is “ Good memories”. The teacher will show the Chinese, and the students can say the English as quickly as they can. The second match is “Guessing Game”, the teacher will use the curtain to show them the first letter of the word, and the students can guess the words.21*cnjy*com

Activity 3 New text
1. The teacher will show the second picture of the text, then say: “ This is Lucy’s new school. But what’s her new school like? Let’s watch the CD-ROM and find the answer.” After that the teacher can ask someone to show the answer.【出处:21教育名师】
2. Let’s go on to watch the CD-ROM, and this time you should underline the sentences about “there is” and “there are”. Then someone will underline the sentences on the whiteboard. After that the little teacher can teach these sentences. At the same time the teacher can write down these sentences on the blackboard. 3. T: Let’s chant with rhythm: There is an old building, there is an old building, in our school, in our school. There are many birds, there are many birds, in the trees, in the trees.
Then let’s sing the chant with the rhythm of Two Tigers.
4. Listen, point and say. Then let’s do some exercises. First let’s match the sentences with the pictures. Then let’s fill in the blanks of the text.
