读写任务(一) 记叙文
阅读下面的短文,然后按照要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
I took a trip to a big lake in Indonesia with my family two years ago. It was really a huge lake with beautiful scenery all around. People were amazed by the endless view in front of our eyes. Later on, unlike other girls, I volunteered to go water-skiing alone. I put on the life jacket, got on the motorboat immediately and started my engine as soon as possible.
The lake seemed broad and endless. I was so thrilled(激动) to enjoy my trip among the mountains and waters that I sped my motorboat. Then, after some time, I found myself in the middle of the endless lake. A sudden fear came around me. I didn’t know where I was or even how far I had gone from the shore. What was worse, it began to rain and it became very cold and foggy. I rode everywhere but couldn’t find my way back. It was useless for me to cry or shout for help. I was so terrified that I began to think about all kinds of horrible things. After floating on the water helplessly and hopelessly for a long time, suddenly I heard someone calling my name. Soon, a big steamboat sailed to me and they pulled me up to the deck and asked me if I was hurt. I couldn’t say a word but cried out in my father’s arms.

My Adventurous Experience
When the writer was on a trip to a lake in Indonesia she went water-skiing alone. She was excited first but later got lost on the lake. Fortunately her father finally came to her rescue.
I will never forget my experience of visiting the zoo in Guangzhou when I was a little boy. I went there with my parents on a Sunday. I was very excited to see so many animals in the zoo and just couldn’t wait to look at the lions and tigers. I was actually running when I suddenly realized that my parents were not with me. I was so scared and began to cry when thinking about the possibility of being kidnapped or being eaten up by the animals. Then a man in uniform came to me and took me to the gate after asking about my name and my parents’. Soon my parents heard the broadcast and rushed to me. They were even more frightened than I was!
读写任务(二)议论文
阅读下面的短文,然后按要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
In some public toilets in Australia, signs have been put up in Chinese to remind Chinese visitors to wash out the toilet after use. In many scenic spots in foreign countries, similar posters ask Chinese people to speak in softer tones.
In China, there are many rude bus passengers who never wait in line for a bus and push hard onto it the moment the bus stops. There are also witnesses to accidents who fail to lend a hand to others. In Beijing, the residents’ being impolite, sometimes rude manners are often noted by visitors from all over the world.
When talking about these phenomena, it is a shame for all of us Chinese people.
“The success of the 2008 Olympic Games depends very much on showing good manners as on the quality of facilities and players’ performances.” China’s delegate to the International Olympic Committee said. “The fact that some people pay little attention to their manners stands in our way of holding the 2008 Olympic Games successfully.”
Yes, showing our culture and our country’s economic power through this event is important , but good manners should be put at the top of our agenda(议程).

参考范文:
A few days ago, I came across a passage in an English newspaper. The passage describes some bad manners of Chinese people and special signs put up in foreign countries to remind Chinese visitors. It also says that our good manners are important to the success of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
As is well known, good manners are the basic quality of man, particularly when we are living in a civilized society. Bad manners always have a bad effect on one’s work and success.
It is well known that China is an ancient country of civilization and courtesy. However, it is a shame that bad manners can often be seen in our daily life. In our school, some students jump the queue while waiting to get their meals in the dining room. Some spit and litter wherever they are. Some make the walls and desks dirty and ugly by drawing or writing meaningless things on them.
I think it is high time we got rid of these bad habits. Let’s make every effort to do what we can to help hold the 2008 Olympics and the 2010 Asian Games successfully. Remember: small things make a difference.

In the two advertisements, readers can learn that people should do something in advance to help theose with AIDS; also people should pay attention to recycling
An advertisement is a message or an announcement that informs or influences people. It can use words, pictures, music or film to communicate its message. Adverts are not only made and paid for by business, but also by individuals, organizations and association that wish to inform or educate the public. We are exposed to ads in our daily life. It is important to understand how advertisements work. Then we can avoid being controlled by them.
Once, an advertisement had a great influence on me. In the ad, there are many cigarettes shaped in a little”M”. It goes without saying that it warns people not to eat McDonald because eating McDonald means killing themselves like smokers. From then on, I made up my mind not to eat funk food in McDonald. So some good interest ads can instruct the public and affect them the way they behave.
Sometimes I cannot help being persuaded by the ads to buy things. When I buy hair shampoo, I prefer to buy those products used by those famous film stars or singers. Therefore, producers tend to use funny and persuasive ads to appeal the customers. However, people are not likely to be persuaded if the product is not suitable for them no matter how good the ads are.
读写任务(四) 议论文
阅读下面的短文,然后按照要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
My Fair Lady was the title of a successful musical. In the musical Professor Henry Higgins takes a bet from Colonel Pickering that he can transform unrefined, dirty Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle into a lady and fool everyone into thinking she really is one, too! He does, and thus young aristocrat Freddy Enfold –Hill falls madly in love with her. Later it was a film based on Bernard’s Shaw’s classic Pygmalion. In Pygmalion, Pygmalion who was an artist changed from a person who disliked women to someone who loves one particular woman. In the film My Fair Lady, Henry Higgins (who replaces the artist) changes from a person who first dislikes Eliza to someone who does like Eliza.
It tells us that people’s spoken language and behavior are greatly influenced by his /her social position and living conditions. But with his/her efforts everything can be changed.

a) 你同意电影的主题吗?
b) 如果是,请用你或他人的实例来说明你的观点;如果不是,也请用你或他人的实例来说明你的观点。
参考范文:
Today I read an introduction to My Fair Lady. My Fair Lady was a musical and later is a film based on Pygmalion. They have the same theme------ people can be changed with their efforts.
I totally agree with the author’s point of view. With our efforts we can make the impossible into possible. It reminds me of an experience. When I began to learn English I found it difficult to memorize English words. I even wrote some pinyin or Chinese characters to help me t keep them in mind, but to my sadness several days later, I forgot them completely. During the first term I thought I had no gift for English and claimed I would not be good at English. But my teacher said as long as you keep on memorizing, reciting and writing from memory again and again, your efforts would pay off one day. In the second term I found easier to memorize the English words unexpectedly. I picked up my confidence again. Now when I face the difficulty I will never lose heart. My experience of learning English encourages me to overcome it.
Everything can change if you want to with your efforts.
读写任务(五) 故事
读写任务:
阅读下面的短文,然后按照要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
As I was passing the elephants, I suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front legs. No chains, no cages, It was obvious that the elephant could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reasons, they did not.
I saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” he said, “when they are very young and much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
I was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephant, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before

Try again
An elephant is held by a small rope, which he can break away from easily. But he doesn’t believe he can because he could not break away from it when he was young.
After reading this passage, I feel sorry for the elephant. He has the chance to get freedom. But he doesn’t believe in himself. He only remembers the feeling of failure, so he doesn’t want to try again.
Personally, I quite understand this kind of feeling. When I was in junior middle school, I couldn’t learn English well. I studied very hard, but I failed many times. So I gave up. I have never studied English well.
Now I know what I thought was wrong. The fact that I failed doesn’t mean that I will fail forever. I now have the belief that I will succeed if I try again.
读写任务(六)夹叙夹议
阅读下面的短文,然后按照要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
When we suffer from serious illness and great pain and great pain, we always want the circumstance(情况)around us to change, rather than changing ourselves to meet those circumstances. When you have someplace to focus all of your built-up pain, it turns into rage(愤怒). My life has been a perfect example of this.
After I was told that I was HIV positive, I began to deal with everything that I encouraged by getting mad. On one occasion I was in my room and had reached bottom. I was very sick and had lost a tremendous amount of weight. I was screaming, swearing at God, punching the walls in my room, and then my dad walked in. He closed the door behind him, looked at me and said, “You know Steve, I can’t help you. Your doctors can’t help you. Your mom can’t help you. The only one who can help you is yourself. You couldn’t really notice it, so it is easy to just pretend it isn’t there.” And he walked out of the room and closed the door.
Then I was in silence. And I found it was no use being angry to others. That keeps you from acting rationally(理智地). Worse, in the process it hurts those you love and makes you even more painful. A much better way to deal with pains is to cry, because it doesn’t hurt anyone and it feels really, really good.

Face your pain bravely
A very sick child who can’t help expressing his anger in mad because of pain, but later he finds a good way to deal with it after listening to what his father said.
When I was ill, I often felt blue and could easily be annoyed. I didn’t like to talk to anybody and just wanted to stay alone. But one of my classmates, Lily, who suffered from very serious illness encourage me a lot. She was very optimistic and never gave in to illness and pain. She often joined in school activities and stuck to learning. Whenever I saw her, she was happy. She told us that the only way to overcome pain was our determination and will. Joining our friends or talking to our parents could help us forget pain.
In my opinion, we should face pain bravely instead of escaping from it. Besides, we can find a good way to share your feelings with others, and then we’ll overcome it.

Sept.4th,2007 Tuesday Rainy
It was raining outside when I got up early in the morning. It’s too bad, I had to go to school by bus. I said to myself. It was almost seven o’clock before I left home. I put on my raincoat and ran to the bus stop in a hurry, for I thought a lot of people might be waiting there. Hardly had I gone there when a bus was coming. I got on the bus immediately, hoping it was possible for me to take a seat. I saw an empty seat and took it. But I found an old lady standing behind me. I stood up at once and was about to ask her to take the seat when a young girl in a modern skirt made a dive for it. I could hardly believe it. I glared at her, thinking, “What bad manners! She cares for nobody but herself. Won’t she grow old in the future ”

The writer saw a young lady making a dive for a seat on a bus leaving an old lady standing aside. She felt very angry about it and sorry about such bad manners in our society.
I had once an similar experience. I got on a bus full of people one day and I had to stand by side. Soon I found several old citizens standing in front of some seated teenagers talking and laughing, ignoring those standing old men. I stepped ahead and suggested they should give their seats to the old. They didn’t feel ashamed, but ignored me instead.
Nowadays many people say that there is less and less sympathy and care in our society. People tend to care less about others and focus on their own in a society where everything is in a hurry and money is valued highly. I don’t think this is good. I think we should live in peace and harmony. We should not only care for ourselves but people surrounding us. In that way, harmonious society can be created.

Last Sunday I went fishing. After setting up my fishing rod(钓鱼竿) with bait(钓鱼的饵), I sat down on the bank of the lake. But two hours later, I didn’t catch any fish. I got very angry and began to pack up my stuff(收拾东西), preparing to go back home.
Just then, I saw an old man sitting near me. To my surprise, his basket was full of fish, so I went over to him, wanting to know why. “Excuse me, but how long have you sat here ” I asked. “About four hours,” he answered. “Four hours ” I could believe my ears. “Yes. It’s very important to be patient,” the old man said. “ Don’t consider fishing a tiring sport. Just enjoy it.” Suddenly, I understand what he said. I must learn to be patient. Then I sat there and waited for fish patiently. I felt a fish touch the bait, but I didn’t move and waited for the right moment to reel it in(卷收钓鱼线). At last, I caught it. This made me very happy. Patience is the secret of success
The story is about an unforgettable lesson of the writer from an old man while fishing on the bank of the lake, through which the writer realized patience was very important and that it was the secret of success. (39 words)
I have a similar experience. Once I waited for the bus at the stop for 30 minutes, no bus came. I couldn’t wait any longer and decided to walk to school. But no sooner had I left than the bus arrived. I thought if I had waited for one more minute, I would have caught it. If I wanted to take the next bus, I would have to wait for another 30 minutes. Only then did I realize the importance of patience. Being impatient will waste all the efforts that we have made. Patience also plays an important part in our study and work. With it we can achieve greater.
Now, whenever I am to lose my patience, I’ll think of the experience of waiting for a bus. (128 words) (167 words)

Possible version:
It is reported in the passage that this Wednesday, scores of people were killed or injured in two separate fires. One happened at the Mingdian Western-style Restaurant in Dongguan city and the other in an apartment building in Wenzhou City. (40 words)
A serious fire may destroy a whole building or even a whole city, leaving people homeless. What’s worse, it can injure or kill people. Just in a very short time, the property that you have struggled for a whole life may be burned to ashes.
In our daily life, taking precautions is of very importance to prevent fires. At school, we can never use electrical appliances or light candles in the dormitories or classrooms. When it comes to home safety, we should always remember to turn off the gas before going out. Keep a fire extinguisher available at any time at home.
In case of fire, first of all you should keep calm. If possible, use a piece of wet cloth to cover your nose and escape the building using the stairs instead of the lift as soon as possible.(140words)
Fight evil before it grows up. Help us to stop mother to child AIDS transmission.
