Blackboard DesignPart One Analysis of the Teaching Material This lesson plays an important role in the whole book . In this text there are many sentences using the present continous tense , which is a very important grammar item in our English. STATUS AND FUNCTION Learn it well ,lay a good foudation!!! The topic is related to the students’ daily life. It will arouse the students’ desire to speak out their ideas in English.
This period of lesson combines listening teaching with speaking teaching, it just meets the requirement of the New Curriculum. Especially the oral teaching, it is the key issue for our English teachers. A good chance to practice English The Ss has learned English for several years so far. They can understand some words and some simple sentences. The Ss have taken a great interest in English now.

How?Part Four Teaching Procedure
First : Discuss what shops they know ask one volunteer of each group to report their answer . (4min)
Second: show the pictures and the name of the shops on the screen (such as book shop, electrical shop, shoe shop, toy shop, supermarket, sports shop, clothes shop)(2min)Step1 Warm-upNext: get some Ss to tell you what things they can buy in those shops, and then the teacher show the picture and the name of the objects beside the shop on the screen.(2min)
Last: ask the students to read the word aloud together in order to remember them well.(2min)
1.Show a vedio about the reading material (1min)
2.Ask the students several questions.
① Where is Amy? ② What is Amy doing? (1min)
3.Ask Ss to skim the conversations on their own and underline any words they do not know. Step2. Presentation Encourage them to guess the meanings of these words from the context Get Ss to work out the meaning of ‘discount’ by deduction as a class activity. (2min)
4. Draw a table on the board and ask Ss to copy it in their books. Tell Ss to write down all the items Amy looked at and list their cost. Ask for volunteers to write the answers on the board. (2min)
Task 1: First play the tape recorder. Let the Ss listen and imitate the dialogue. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation. At last I’ll ask the Ss to think hard and act it out with a partner according to the Sample .(8min)
Task2: Play a “Price Bingo” game to practice speaking and listening to the prices.(3min) Step3. PracticePart one: Discussion
