you
know
my
schedule.
Other
than
Wednesday
and
Friday,
any
day
is
OK
with
me.
(Text

M:
Bob
must
be
joking
when
he
said
he
planned
to
sell
his
company
and
work
abroad.
W:
You
are
quite
right!
He's
just
joking.
In
fact,
he
is
trying
to
his
company.
(Text
3)
M:
You
can't
enter
from
here,
madam.
The
line
starts
over
there.
There's
about
a
two hour
wait
to
get
into
the
club.
W:
It's
not
worth
my
time.
I'm
going
somewhere
else.
(Text
4)
W:
Jacob,
suppose
you
lost
all
your
money
and
your
phone
while
taking
a
vacation
overseas,
what
would
you
do
M:
I'd
call
the
police
for
help,
of
course.
They
would
help
me
contact
the
embassy
or
my
family
wouldn't
they
(Text

W:
Could
you
help
me
check

M:

the
problem
W:
The

W:

I've
heard
that
you've
been

to
New

W:

M:

you.

everything
going
W:
Fine.
My
company
is
sending
me
to
California
for
two
months'
training.
M:
That's
a
good
opportunity.
I'm
very
happy
for
you.
W:
Thank
you.
M:
By
the
way,
how's
Michelle
I
haven't
seen
her
for
two
weeks.
W:
Her
new
novel
will
be
published
next
month.
She's
busy
working

W:
Hey,
Mike.
I
love
your
music.
It's
the
best
I've
ever
heard.
M:
Thank
you
for
saying
that.
Actually,
this
song
was
sung
for
the
first
time
today.
You
know
what
I
wrote
it
based
on
a
true
story.
W:
Really
That's
amazing.
Your
guitar
skills
are
very
impressive,
too.
How
did
you
learn
to
play
like
that
M:
I
picked
up
guitar
at
an
early
age,
maybe
around
8
years
old.
Afterward,
I
taught
myself
by
listening
to
some
records
of
top
players.
W:
Wow,
that's
unbelievable!
You
play
so
well,
but
you've
never
learned
from
a
teacher.
(Text

M:
Aunt
Shirley,
it's
eight
years
since
we
last
met.
How
have
you
been
doing
in
the
past
years
W:
Pretty
well.
I
remember
you
were
fourteen
at
that
time.
What
about
you
M:
Fine.
Where
are
the
other
guys
W:
It's
a
bit
disappointing
that
they
are
all
out
to
see
a
movie.
M:
Bad
timing.
I
want
to
see
them
so
much.
How
are
they
W:
No
bad.
I
heard
you
are
going
to
leave
the
college
this
summer,
right
M:
Yes,
that's
why
I'm
here.
I'm
thinking
about
buying
a
second hand
apartment.
W:
Having
you
been
to
a
real
estate
agent
M:
No,
that
will
be
too
expensive.
W:
That's
true.
By
the
way,
what
kind
of
apartment
are
you
looking
for
M:
My
first
job's
salary
won't
be
high.
It's
not
necessary
for
me
to
get
a
large
one.
So,
the
cheaper,
the
better.
Just
one
I
can
afford.
W:
Sure.
I'll
try
my
best
to
find
a
satisfactory
one
for
you.
M:
I'll
appreciate
it
so
much.
(Text
9)
W:
Paul,
you
said
the
accident
has
changed
your
life.
Can
we
talk
about
it
M:
Sure.
My
right
hand
got
hurt
in
a
car
accident
in
April
and
I
had
to
spend
a
long
time
in
bed.
Though
it
was
painful
to
use
the
left
hand
to
do
everything,
I
tried
to,
and
I
developed
some
new
hobbies.
W:
Really,
what
kind
of
hobbies
M:
I
used
to
play
video
games
and
watch
movies
a
lot.
When
I
was
in
the
hospital,
I
had
to
be
in
bed
the
whole
time,
so
I
picked
up
reading.
W:
That's
really
great.
Could
you
eat
regular
food
M:
Yes.
I
could,
but
with
my
left
hand.
And
I
had
to
brush
my
teeth
with
it,
too.
If
I
had
to
do
something
that
needs
both
my
hands,
like
washing
my
face,
I
asked
my
mom
to
do
it
for
me.
W:
So
how
long
did
it
take
you
to
get
well
M:
I
stayed
in
the
hospital
for
one
month
and
a
half,
and
then
at
home
for
a
month.
Now
I
could
move
my
hand,
but
the
doctor
advised
me
not
to
pick
up
any
heavy
luggage.
W:
Anyway,
I'm
really
glad
that
you're
healthier
now
and
that
you
can
start
living
your
life
normally.
M:
Thank
you,
Emma.

Some
people
really
live
in
odd
places!
One
Mexican
couple
have
actually
been
living
under
a
rock
for
more
than
thirty
years.
The
owner,
Benito
Hernandez,
saw
the
big
rock
when
he
was
only
eight
years
old.
He
loved
the
big
rock.
He
kept
visiting
the
area.
After
twenty
years
he
was
able
to
get
the
rights
to
use
the
land
and
the
rock.
This
home
is
in
a
desert
about
80
kilometers
from
the
border
with
Texas.
The
rock
is
almost
40
meters
long.
Hernandez
and
his
wife
have
built
their
home
under
the
big
rock.
They
made
bricks
by
baking
clay
in
the
sun.
The
walls
are
built
up
from
the
ground
to
the
rock
using
these
bricks.
Windows
are
holes
in
the
walls.
Wooden
sticks
cover
the
window
openings.
The
floor
is
a
dirt
floor.
They
don't
have
electricity
to
use
for
any
equipment.
They
have
just
enough
electricity
for
lights
at
night.
They
have
a
kitchen
area
and
a
living
area.
They
also
have
several
bedrooms.
It
is
not
easy
to
get
food
here.
The
farmer
has
to
drive
very
far
to
buy
basic
goods.
There
is
no
running
water.
They
have
to
collect
all
the
water
they
need
from
a
stream
nearby.
Hernandez
and
his
wife
have
seven
children.
They
have
all
grown
up
and
most
are
now
married.
They
all
still
live
near
their
family
home.

Paper
cutting
is
one
of
China's
most
popular
folk
arts.
Archaeological
(考古学上的)
finds
show
that
the
tradition
started
in
the
6th
century;
it
is
even
supposed
that
the
beginning
of
paper
cutting
is
even
a
few
centuries
earlier.
Paper
cuts
have
special
importance
at
festivals
and
on
holidays.
To
get
rid
of
(摆脱)
the
old
and
bring
good
luck,
people
put
up
paper
cuts
on
the
windows
on
the
Eve
of
the
Spring
Festival.
Paper
cuts
are
not
produced
by
machine,
but
by
hand.
They
are
done
all
over
China,
but
are
different
in
the
method
in
different
areas.
There
are
two
methods
of
making
paper
cuts—by
using
scissors
(剪刀)
or
knives.
As
the
name
suggests,
scissors
cuttings
are
made
with
scissors.
Several
pieces
of
paper
(up
to
eight
pieces)
are
placed
together.
The
patterns
are
then
cut
with
pointed
scissors.
Knife
cuttings
are
made
by
putting
several
pieces
of
paper
on
a
table.
Following
a
pattern,
the
artist
cuts
the
patterns
into
the
paper
with
a
knife.
In
the
past,
paper
cuts
are
usually
made
only
by
women
and
girls.
They
use
scissors
and
paper
to
cut
all
kinds
of
pictures
such
as
apple
trees,
peach
blossoms,
mice,
fighting
roosters
(公鸡)
and
rabbits
eating
carrots.
This
used
to
be
one
of
the
skills
that
every
girl
was
to
master.
Professional
paper
cutting
artists
are,
on
the
other
hand,
almost
always
men
who
can
make
a
living
by
working
together
in
workshops.

C
Most
high
school
students
would
rather
spend
their
summer
vacations
far
away
from
the
classroom.
But
Vineet
Kosaraju
and
Nikhil
Cheerla
are
choosing
to
go
back
to
school,
and
this
time
they
are
the
teachers.
“I
think
it's
really
nice
that
I
can
help
the
community
by
spending
just
a
little
bit
of
time
every
week
helping
just
a
few
students
here
and
there
try
and
learn
programming,”
Kosaraju
said.
Friends
since
they
were
young
boys,
Kosaraju
and
Cheerla
always
shared
a
love
of
computer
science.
They
learned
the
skills
from
their
parents
and
school,
but
recognized
that
not
all
children
have
that
chance.
“Programming
isn't
taught
in
that
many
schools,
especially
low
income
(收入)
schools,
because
there
isn't
that
much
money
to
support
it,”
Kosaraju
said.
So
he
and
Cheerla
developed
“Math
and
Coding,”
an
after school
program
for
kids
of
all
ages
to
learn
the
basics
of
computer
programming.
Between
applying
for

college
and
doing
their
own
homework,
the
two
boys

spend
a
few
hours
every
week
going
to
different
libraries
teaching
classes
that
cover
everything
from
building
basic
games
to
developing
apps.
The
friends
started

program
a
little
over
a
year
ago
and
already,
it's
spread
to
more
than
a
dozen
libraries
across
the
Bay
Area
in
California.
They
are
even
training
volunteers
to
teach
these
very
same
classes
in
other
US
states
and
Canada.
Maryann
Mitchell
brought
her
8 year old
granddaughter,
Gabriella,
to
a
class
on
coding
at
the
Alum
Rock
Library
in
San
Jose,
California.
“It's
a
chance
for
her
to
learn,”
Mitchell
said.“It's
the
way
of
the
future,
and
it's
a
good
way
for
her
to
get
grounded
and
be
ready
for
what
the
future
holds.”
“I
think
the
most
rewarding
thing
is
having
people
come
up
and
thank
you
and
say
they
really
learned
a
lot
from
this
class,”
Cheerla
said.
“It
doesn't
get
any
better
than
that.”

第二节 书面表达(满分25分)
某英语报社邀请你根据以下提示以The
importance
of
protecting
cultural
heritage为题写一篇英语短文,以此来提高人们对文化遗产的保护意识:
1.文化遗产可以帮助我们更好地了解历史;
2.文化遗产可以促进当地的经济发展;
3.文化遗产以多种形式存在。
注意:
1.词数100左右;
2.可以适当增加细节,以使行文连贯。
答案:
The
importance
of
protecting
cultural
heritage
Not
everyone
feels
a
connection
with
their
cultural
heritage,
but
many
people
do.
In
fact,
protecting
cultural
heritage
can
bring
us
many
benefits.
First
of
all,
cultural
heritage
can
give
us
a
connection
to
certain
social
values,
beliefs
and
customs,
which
allows
us
to
better
understand
previous
generations
and
the
history
of
the
area
that
we
are
from.
In
addition,
a
certain
cultural
heritage
will
contribute
to
the
development
of
the
local
economy
and
improve
the
locals'
quality
of
life.
Finally,
cultural
heritage
is
present
in
many
forms
such
as
landmarks,
places,
buildings
and
the
stories
associated
with
them.
It's
also
in
the
food
we
eat,
the
clothes
we
wear
and
the
skills
we
learn.
So
it's
of
great
importance
to

Paper
cutting
is
one
of
China's
most
popular
folk
arts.
Archaeological
(考古学上的)
finds
show
that
the
tradition
started
in
the
6th
century;
it
is
even
supposed
that
the
beginning
of
paper
cutting
is
even
a
few
centuries
earlier.
Paper
cuts
have
special
importance
at
festivals
and
on
holidays.
To
get
rid
of
(摆脱)
the
old
and
bring
good
luck,
people
put
up
paper
cuts
on
the
windows
on
the
Eve
of
the
Spring
Festival.
Paper
cuts
are
not
produced
by
machine,
but
by
hand.
They
are
done
all
over
China,
but
are
different
in
the
method
in
different
areas.
There
are
two
methods
of
making
paper
cuts—by
using
scissors
(剪刀)
or
knives.
As
the
name
suggests,
scissors
cuttings
are
made
with
scissors.
Several
pieces
of
paper
(up
to
eight
pieces)
are
placed
together.
The
patterns
are
then
cut
with
pointed
scissors.
Knife
cuttings
are
made
by
putting
several
pieces
of
paper
on
a
table.
Following
a
pattern,
the
artist
cuts
the
patterns
into
the
paper
with
a
knife.
In
the
past,
paper
cuts
are
usually
made
only
by
women
and
girls.
They
use
scissors
and
paper
to
cut
all
kinds
of
pictures
such
as
apple
trees,
peach
blossoms,
mice,
fighting
roosters
(公鸡)
and
rabbits
eating
carrots.
This
used
to
be
one
of
the
skills
that
every
girl
was
to
master.
Professional
paper
cutting
artists
are,
on
the
other
hand,
almost
always
men
who
can
make
a
living
by
working
together
in
workshops.

Most
high
school
students
would
rather
spend
their
summer
vacations
far
away
from
the
classroom.
But
Vineet
Kosaraju
and
Nikhil
Cheerla
are
choosing
to
go
back
to
school,
and
this
time
they
are
the
teachers.
“I
think
it's
really
nice
that
I
can
help
the
community
by
spending
just
a
little
bit
of
time
every
week
helping
just
a
few
students
here
and
there
try
and
learn
programming,”
Kosaraju
said.
Friends
since
they
were
young
boys,
Kosaraju
and
Cheerla
always
shared
a
love
of
computer
science.
They
learned
the
skills
from
their
parents
and
school,
but
recognized
that
not
all
children
have
that
chance.
“Programming
isn't
taught
in
that
many
schools,
especially
low
income
(收入)
schools,
because
there
isn't
that
much
money
to
support
it,”
Kosaraju
said.
So
he
and
Cheerla
developed
“Math
and
Coding,”
an
after school
program
for
kids
of
all
ages
to
learn
the
basics
of
computer
programming.
Between
applying
for
(申请)
college
and
doing
their
own
homework,
the
two
boys
now
spend
a
few
hours
every
week
going
to
different
libraries
teaching
classes
that
cover
everything
from
building
basic
games
to
developing
apps.
The
friends
started
the
program
a
little
over
a
year
ago
and
already,
it's
spread
to
more
than
a
dozen
libraries
across
the
Bay
Area
in
California.
They
are
even
training
volunteers
to
teach
these
very
same
classes
in
other
US
states
and
Canada.
Maryann
Mitchell
brought
her
8 year old
granddaughter,
Gabriella,
to
a
class
on
coding
at
the
Alum
Rock
Library
in
San
Jose,
California.
“It's
a
chance
for
her
to
learn,”
Mitchell
said.“It's
the
way
of
the
future,
and
it's
a
good
way
for
her
to
get
grounded
and
be
ready
for
what
the
future
holds.”
“I
think
the
most
rewarding
thing
is
having
people
come
up
and
thank
you
and
say
they
really
learned
a
lot
from
this
class,”
Cheerla
said.
“It
doesn't
get
any
better
than
that.”

This
morning
I
went
to
People's
Park
as
usually.
I
took
part
in
an
English
activity
calling
“English
Corner”
there
every
Sunday.
When
I
was
practising
English
here
with
some
friends,
two
America
students
came.
We
were
both
interested
in
sports.
So
we
talked
about
our
love
of
sports.
I
told
them
I
liked
to
play
volleyball.
They
said
they
also
liked
them
and
they
were
even
members
of
their
school's
volleyball
team.
We
talk
about
some
rules,
some
famous
player
and
other
things
about
volleyball.
I
like
this
kind
conversation,
because
I
can

also
to
learn
some
other
useful
things.
