A
Have
you
ever
considered
all
the
English
expressions
that
include
words
about
clothes?Let’s
have
a
look.
People
wear
pants
to
cover
the
lower
part
of
their
bodies.We
sometimes
say
that
people
who
are
nervous
have
ants
in
their
pants.Sometimes,people
may
get
caught
with
their
pants
down.They
are
found
doing
something
they
should
not
be
doing.And,in
every
family,one
person
takes
control.Sometimes
a
wife
tells
her
husband
what
to
do.Then
we
say
she
wears
the
pants
in
the
family.
Pants
usually
have
pockets
to
hold
things.Money
that
is
likely
to
be
spent
quickly
can
burn
a
hole
in
your
pocket.Sometimes
you
need
a
belt
to
hold
up
your
pants.If
you
have
less
money
than
usual,you
may
have
to
tighten
your
belt.
I
always
praise
people
who
can
save
their
money
and
not
spend
too
much.I
really
take
my
hat
off
to
them.Yet,when
it
comes
to
my
own
money,I
spend
it
at
the
drop
of
a
hat,which
means
I
instantly
spend
it.
Boots
are
a
heavy
or
strong
kind
of
shoes.People
who
are
too
big
for
their
boots
think
they
are
more
important
than
they
really
are.
I
dislike
such
people.
My
father
is
an
important
person.He
runs
a
big
company.He
wears
a
suit
and
tie,and
a
shirt
with
sleeves
that
cover
his
arms.Some
people
who
do
not
know
him
well
think
he
is
too
serious
and
never
shows
his
feelings
openly.But
I
know
that
my
father
wears
his
heart
on
his
sleeve.

C.has

D.spends
more

24.We

describe
someone
who
________.
A.gets
angry
easily

We
spend
around
one
third
of
our
lives
in
bed,
and
the
body
does
a
lot
of
its
repair
work
as
we
sleep,
so
enough

sleep
is
very
important
to
our
health.
It
doesn’t
stop
there,
though—some
sleep
positions
are
healthier
than
others.
So
which
sleep
position
is
the
healthiest
Sleeping
on
your
back
is
the
healthiest
sleep
position.
Health
benefits
include
avoiding
back
and
neck
pain.
Because
the
head
is
raised
above
the
stomach
when
you
sleep
on
your
back,
this
position
is
best
for
people
who
suffer
from
nighttime
acid
reflux
(胃酸逆流)
as
well.
Around
80%
of
heartburn
(胃灼热)
sufferers
have
problems
during
the
night,
so
sleeping
on
their
back
could
help
a
lot
of
people
to
enjoy
a
good
night’s
sleep.
If
the
sleep
position
alone
is
not
enough
to
alleviate
the
condition,
try
raising
the
head
of
the
bed
by
up
to
4
inches
by
placing
blocks
under
it.
When
you
sleep
on
your
back,
your
face
is
in
a
natural
position.
This
means
less
wrinkles
(皱纹).
If
you
really
can’t
face
sleeping
on
your
back,
another
healthy
sleep
position
is
the
side
sleep.
It’s
almost
as
good
as
the
back
position,
and
it’s
better
for
people
who
snore
(打鼾)
and
their
partners.
Whichever
sleep
position
you
choose,
use
a
pillow
that
supports
the
head
and
the
neck
without
raising
the
head
unnaturally,
as
this
can
bring
neck
pain.

Many
people
have
tried
to
simplify
(简化)
the
spelling
of
English
words.
Unlike
other
languages,
English
sometimes
spells
the
same
sounds
in
very
different
ways.
For
example,
there
is
“light”
but
“white”,
“loan”
but
“phone”
,and
there
are
at
least
seven
different
ways
of
pronouncing
“ough”:
“though”,
“through”,
“bough”,
“cough”,
“enough”,
“ought”
and
“thorough”.
The
American
President
Theodore
Roosevelt
almost
succeeded
in
simplifying
English
spelling.
In
1906,
Andrew
Carnegie
started
the
Simplified
Spelling
Board.
He
was
one
of
the
richest
men
in
the
United
States
of
America.
The
board’s
plan
was
to
make
the
spelling
of
words
nearer
to
the
way
they
sound.
For
example,
the
word
“though”
would
be
spelt
“tho”
and
“through”
would
become
“thru”.
Other
people
on
the
board
were
Melvil
Dewey,
the
head
of
the
New
York
libraries,
and
Professor
Brander
Matthews
of
Columbia
University.
They
explained
their
idea
to
President
Roosevelt,
who
thought
that
it
was
indeed
logical.
He
immediately
asked
the
government
printer
to
use
simplified
spelling
in
all
government
letters.
But
people
didn’t
like
the
change,
even
if
it
made
life
easier.
So
the
new
simpler
spelling
was
not
popular.
More
importantly,
when
the
American
politicians
(政客)
discussed
the
plan,
they
did
not
like
it
either.
Because
Roosevelt
did
not
want
to
have
any
problems
with
the
politicians,
he
changed
his
mind
and
told
the
printer
to
go
back
to
the
old
way
of
spelling.
Since
then
no
one
in
any
government
has
dared
to
simplify
English
spelling.
However,
people
do
simplify
some
words,
mainly
in
advertisements.
For
example,
we
often
see
“tonite”
instead
of
“tonight”
and
“thru”
instead
of
“through”.
29.Many
people
have
tried
to
simplify
English
spelling
because
________.
A.English
words
are
too
long
to
remember
B.there
are
many
mistakes
in
English
words
C.lots
of
words
are
spelt
in
many
different
ways
D.sometimes
the
same
sounds
have
different
spellings
30.Who
is
NOT
a
member
of
the
Simplified
Spelling
Board
A.Andrew
Carnegie.
B.Melvil
Dewey.
C.Theodore
Roosevelt.
D.Brander
Matthews.
31.What
was
Theodore
Roosevelt’s
attitude
towards
simplified
spelling
A.Worried.
B.Supportive.
C.Uncertain.
D.Doubtful.
32.Roosevelt’s
plan
to
simplify
English
spelling
________.
A.failed
in
the
end
B.proved
quite
successful
C.won
wide
support
D.influenced
English
greatly
D
There
are
only
24
hours
in
a
day,
but
people
can
use
the
time
wisely.
In
other
words,
good
time
management
(管理)
is
important
if
you
want
to
succeed.
Knowing
the
importance
of
daily
matters
is
the
first
step
towards
good
time
management.
Write
down
the
things
that
you
want
to
do
and
organise
them
according
to
their
level
of
importance.
The
important
thing
should
be
done
first.
If
there
are
too
many
things
that
have
to
be
done
in
one
day,
then
you
have
to
give
up
doing
something
that
is
less
important
on
your
list.
Besides
this,
you
need
to
spend
a
specific
(特定的)
amount
of
time
doing
all
the
activities
you
have
written
down
and
make
sure
you
finish
them
on
time.
People
often
slow
down
in
their
work
even
though
they
know
that
time
will
never
wait
for
them.
Make
sure
you
keep
to
your
plan
and
finish
the
tasks
one
by
one.
Do
not
try
to
do
too
many
things
at
once.
Also,
you
can
group
similar
activities
together
and
do
them
one
by
one.
For
example,
you
can
group
all
the
tasks
you
need
to
do
in
the
office
together
and
do
them
while
you’re
in
office.
Do
all
the
tasks
that
have
to
be
done
in
one
place
first,
and
then
move
to
the
next
place
to
do
the
other
tasks.
“The
bad
news
is
that
time
flies.
The
good
news
is
that
you’re
the
pilot,”
said
Michael
Althsuler.
Your
future
is
in
your
hands,
so
remember
to
invest
(投资)
your
time
wisely
from
today
on.
33.Which
of
the
following
things
should
be
done
first
A.The
most
difficult
things.
B.The
most
important
things.
C.The
things
that
weren’t
done
yesterday.
D.The
things
that
take
the
least
time.
34.The
author
quoted
the
words
by
Althsuler
to
say
that
________.
A.you
can
manage
your
time
wisely
B.you
can’t
control
time
C.time
passes
quickly
D.everything
has
two
sides
35.The
text
is
mainly
about
________.
A.the
importance
of
time
management
B.ways
to
manage
time
effectively
C.ways
to

activities

__45__
he
still

That

on
his

to

he
saw
a

his

that

High
school
in
America
is
divided
into
two
periods.
The
first
two
or
three
years
are
called
“junior
high
school”
and
the
senior
period
is
called
“senior
high
school”.
American
students
enjoy
free
education
until
they
are
18
years
old.
American
children
have
no
difficulty
going
to
senior
high
school
because
of
the
free
education
system.
But
things
are
different
if
they
want
to
go
to
special
schools.
American
high
school
students
take
classes
in
all
kinds
of
subjects
all
through
the
high
school
period.
Sometimes
some
of
them
complain
that
the
progress
is
too
slow
and
they
do
not
learn
much.
This
is
because
students
of
all
levels
of
ability
study
in
the
same
class.
Students
with
low
marks
at
the
end
of
a
school
year
are
also
often
allowed
to
go
on
to
the
next
grade.
Many
children
who
don’t
want
to
go
to
universities
are
sent
to
high
schools
in
central
cities.
Fighting
or
some
other
kind
of
bad
behavior
is
often
seen
in
these
schools.
As
a
result,
children
who
want
to
go
to
universities
are
often
sent
to
suburban
high
schools,
where
most
students
aim
at
going
to
universities
and
the
atmosphere
is
quite
different
there.
Like
what
happens
in
China,
some
children
from
rich
families
study
in
private
schools.
18.When
can
American
students
enjoy
free
education
A.Until
16
years
old.
B.Until
18
years
old.
C.Until
20
years
old.
19.What
makes
the
progress
in
high
school
slow
A.That
most
subjects
are
difficult.
B.That
the
time
for
study
is
too
little
every
day.
C.That
students
of
all
levels
study
in
the
same
class.
20.Where
do
children
go
if
they
want
to
go
to
universities
A.High
schools
in
central
cities.
B.Suburban
high
schools.
C.High
schools
opened
by
universities.
答案:1~5 BBCAA 6~10 BCCBA
11~15 ABBBA 16~20 ACBCB
第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
Have
you
ever
considered
all
the
English
expressions
that
include
words
about
clothes?Let’s
have
a
look.
People
wear
pants
to
cover
the
lower
part
of
their
bodies.We
sometimes
say
that
people
who
are
nervous
have
ants
in
their
pants.Sometimes,people
may
get
caught
with
their
pants
down.They
are
found
doing
something
they
should
not
be
doing.And,in
every
family,one
person
takes
control.Sometimes
a
wife
tells
her
husband
what
to
do.Then
we
say
she
wears
the
pants
in
the
family.
Pants
usually
have
pockets
to
hold
things.Money
that
is
likely
to
be
spent
quickly
can
burn
a
hole
in
your
pocket.Sometimes
you
need
a
belt
to
hold
up
your
pants.If
you
have
less
money
than
usual,you
may
have
to
tighten
your
belt.
I
always
praise
people
who
can
save
their
money
and
not

C
Many
people
have
tried
to
simplify
(简化)
the
spelling
of
English
words.
Unlike
other
languages,
English
sometimes
spells
the
same
sounds
in
very
different
ways.
For
example,
there
is
“light”
but
“white”,
“loan”
but
“phone”
,and
there
are
at
least
seven
different
ways
of
pronouncing
“ough”:
“though”,
“through”,
“bough”,
“cough”,
“enough”,
“ought”
and
“thorough”.
The
American
President
Theodore
Roosevelt
almost
succeeded
in
simplifying
English
spelling.
In
1906,
Andrew
Carnegie
started
the
Simplified
Spelling
Board.
He
was
one
of
the
richest
men
in
the
United
States
of
America.
The
board’s
plan
was
to
make
the
spelling
of
words
nearer
to
the
way
they
sound.
For
example,
the
word
“though”
would
be
spelt
“tho”
and
“through”
would
become
“thru”.
Other
people
on
the
board
were
Melvil
Dewey,
the
head
of
the
New
York
libraries,
and
Professor
Brander
Matthews
of
Columbia
University.
They
explained
their
idea
to
President
Roosevelt,
who
thought
that
it
was
indeed
logical.
He
immediately
asked
the
government
printer
to
use
simplified
spelling
in
all
government
letters.
But
people
didn’t
like
the
change,
even
if
it
made
life
easier.
So
the
new
simpler
spelling
was
not
popular.
More
importantly,
when
the
American
politicians
(政客)
discussed
the
plan,
they
did
not
like
it
either.
Because
Roosevelt
did
not
want
to
have
any
problems
with
the
politicians,
he
changed
his
mind
and
told
the
printer
to
go
back
to
the
old
way
of
spelling.
Since
then
no
one
in
any
government
has
dared
to
simplify
English
spelling.
However,
people
do
simplify
some
words,
mainly
in
advertisements.
For
example,
we
often
see
“tonite”
instead
of
“tonight”
and
“thru”
instead
of
“through”.
29.Many
people
have
tried
to
simplify
English
spelling
because
________.
A.English
words
are
too
long
to
remember
B.there
are
many
mistakes
in
English
words
C.lots
of
words
are
spelt
in
many
different
ways
D.sometimes
the
same
sounds
have
different
spellings
解析:选D 细节理解题。根据第一段的“Unlike
other
languages,
English
sometimes
spells
the
same
sounds
in
very
different
ways.”可知,人们试图简化英语拼写是因为英语单词有时候同样的发音会有不同的拼写。
30.Who
is
NOT
a
member
of
the
Simplified
Spelling
Board
A.Andrew
Carnegie.
B.Melvil
Dewey.
C.Theodore
Roosevelt.
D.Brander
Matthews.
解析:选C 细节理解题。根据第二段的“Andrew
Carnegie
started
the
Simplified
Spelling
Board.”和“Other
people
on
the
board
were
Melvil
Dewey
...Brander
Matthews”可知,他们三人是简化拼写委员会的成员,而美国总统罗斯福并不是这个组织的成员。
31.What
was
Theodore
Roosevelt’s
attitude
towards
simplified
spelling
A.Worried.
B.Supportive.
C.Uncertain.
D.Doubtful.
解析:选B 细节理解题。根据第二段的“They
explained
their
idea
to
President
Roosevelt,
who
thought
that
it
was
indeed
logical.
He
immediately
...”可知,罗斯福对简化英语拼写持支持态度。
32.Roosevelt’s
plan
to
simplify
English
spelling
________.
A.failed
in
the
end
B.proved
quite
successful
C.won
wide
support
D.influenced
English
greatly
解析:选A 推理判断题。根据第三段的“he
changed
his
mind
and
told
the
printer
to
go
back
to
the
old
way
of
spelling”可知,罗斯福的拼写改革计划最终失败了。

Also,
you
can
group
