Topic: What are the children doing
Teaching Aims:
1. Using the present continuous tense to describe an action taking place at the time of speaking.
2. Knowing how to change the verbs to the present participle form.
3. Asking “Wh-” questions of the present continuous tense.
Language Focus:
1. Vocabulary:
Present participle: doing, drawing, writing, painting, talking, reading, and sleeping.
2. Conversations: What are the children doing What are you doing I am ….
Are you painting Yes, I’m painting. No, I’m not painting.

Word cards.

Pre-task preparation Warm-up Sing an English song 在演唱和游戏中融洽感情，活跃气氛。
Bingo game Review new words by bingo.
While-task procedure Imitating and acting. Act and say.T: Look, I can draw. I’m drawing.Students imitate and try to say sentences and using ‘Look, I’m …’Show the verb cards. 借助动作边活动边说句子，让学生初步感受进行时的表达方式。动词卡片设计为两面用，让学生比较动词的变化。
2. Present participle. Students read after teacher.E.g. draw- drawingStudents do group work to find out the difference between the verb and its present participle form.Draw- drawing Write- writing Run- runningTell the students the structure of the present participle. 通过朗读了解动词加-ing后的读音变化。以小组讨论形式让学生来发现动词在分词构成形式。教师做以总结。

Post-task Consolidation Say and act. Students follow the tapes and act the dialogue.Doing pair work to make their own dialogue.Play a guessing game. 让学生通过角色扮演和游戏培养学生自我表现、自我发挥和团结协作的能力。
Assignment 单词抄写并造句,熟练现在分词的变化。跟随磁带朗读课文。完成语法训练相应内容。
