Topic: A story
Teaching Aims:
1. Using the simple present tense to express simple truth
2. Using the present continuous tense to describe an action taking place at the time of speaking.
3. Using nouns to identify animals and objects e.g. There is one big duckling.
Language Focus:
Identify main ideas from a text with teacher support.
Review the grammar they have learned through a story.
Teaching Aids:
the multi-media system, tape recorder
Procedures Contents Methods Purpose
Pre-task preparation 1. Review 1. Review the four seasons. Discuss with the class how different things happen in nature during the different seasons, e.g. what trees look like during the different seasons. 复习已学,给故事做铺垫。
While-task procedure 2. Look and read 1. Invite the groups to tell the students that they are going to read a story about how the different seasons can bring about wonderful changes in nature.2. Play the recording Read a story. The students listen and follow in their books.3. Tell the students that there are a lot of describing words (adjectives) in the story. Ask the students to read the story again and to look out for these words.4. Tell the changes for the ugly duckling in different seasons and read the text again to check. 通过讲故事让学过的知识再现并形成篇章。训练学生在较长篇幅的文章中寻找信息。
Post-task Consolidation 3. Output:Thinking 1. Ask the students what they can learn from the story.2. Complete Read and tick. 发散学生思维,引发他们的思考。
