Topic: The cat and the mouse
Teaching Aims:
1. Reviewing the prepositions and the present continuous tense.

Pre-task preparation Warm-upWhere’s … Ask students to guess where the teacher’s object is. 通过猜一猜的形式帮助学生复习旧知,进行句型简单操练,激发学生的学习兴趣。设置情景,给学生提供一个初步综合运用已学知识的机会,通过互相合作的形式,检验学生掌握旧知的程度,培养他们的主动学习性。
Make a dialogue. Students make dialogues according to the situation given by the teacher.
While-task procedure 1. Read the story Ask students to read the story for the first time and help them underline the new words. 通过阅读,初步感知学习内容,找出自己不理解的难点,培养学生自学能力和阅读能力。
2. Ask and answer Ask students to answer the questions.Q1: Where is the mouse/cat Q2: What is it doing Q3: Is the cat angry/ hungry 通过教师有目的的质疑,让学生自主学习、解疑,了解故事部分内容,为培养学生的质疑能力和带有有目的去阅读的能力打下基础。
3. Listen and repeat Students listen to the text and repeat after the tape. 培养学生的听音反应能力,规范学生标准发音。
While-task procedure Reading practice Students read the text and practice. 教师指导学生朗读,通过跟读、同声读,模仿课文正确的语音语调、培养学生正确的朗读方法,再次在朗读中体会故事内容。
Retell the story Retell the story according to the key words. 通过复述故事,训练学生初步尝试在理解故事内容的基础上用自己的语言来表达,培养学生的初步概括能力和语言的运用能力。
Post-task Consolidation Finish the story Encourage students to think and write what the cat and the mouse will say in the speech bubble. 鼓励学生充分发挥想象,完成故事结尾。使学生在思想交换中成长进步。
Assignment 翻译课文并续写故事结尾。跟随磁带朗读课文。完成语法训练相应内容。
