Teaching Aims:
1. Learning new words about musical instrument.
2. Asking ‘yes/no’ questions to obtain simple responses.
3. Asking Wh- questions to find out which person something belongs to.
4. Using pronouns to indicate possessions.
5. Using possessive forms of nouns to show possessions.
Language Focus:
1. Vocabulary:
Noun: piano, recorder, violin, guitar, triangle, drum.
2. Conversations: I am a …. I can…. What can you play
Is it your violin No, it isn’t my violin.
Whose violin is this It’s Danny’s.
Teaching Aids:
Toy musical instruments, pictures and realia.
Procedures Contents Methods Purpose
Pre-task preparation 1. Warm-up Sing an English song. 1. 演唱英文歌曲活跃课堂气氛,便于对乐器词语的学习。2. 让学生听各种乐器的声音,使其在辨别乐器种类中学习单词,增加单词学习的趣味性。
2. Listen and think. Students listen to the sound of some kind of instrument and think over what kind of instrument it is.
While-task procedure 1. Introduction Introduce: piano, recorder, violin, guitar, triangle, and drum.Ask students to know the instruments and talk about which one they like best.3. Lead in new sentence patterns.T: What’s … doing He/She’s playing the drum/ violin/ guitar. 通过图片让学生对这些乐器有一个直观形象地了解。通过观察描述图片,谈论乐器让学生来巩固操练单词。
2. Discussion Students discuss in groups about ‘Who can play the piano/ violin/ guitar well in the class.’ 通过讨论、交流,让学生了解班级里多才多艺的同学。适当给有才能的学生展示的机会。
3. Listen and sing. Listen and clap hands.Teach ‘music man’ and make phrases with ‘music’. 在愉悦的气氛中,巩固所学单词及句型。同时,激活学生思维,充分进行想象。
4. Game: Recognizing the instrument. Several students take out the toy musical instruments and put them in front of the class. The other students try to work out the owner of the instruments. 以游戏的形式,让学生猜猜是谁的乐器发出的声音,把句型操练活动带到意义性操练阶段。
5. Listen and repeat. Students listen to the recording and repeat what they hear.Students read by themselves. 通过听音锻炼学生的听力。通过读让学生加深对所学知识的理解。
