Hello, listeners. Welcome to Hengtong Hospital Radio. Before our music program at four, I’m going to repeat some of our hospital rules.
The hospital can sleep 800 patients. There are on average 8 beds in one ward. The visiting hours are in the afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30 and in the evening from 7:00 to 8:00.
You can see the no smoking sign — we don’t allow smoking in the wards, and the same goes for alcoholic drinks. I’m sure you understand why. However, if you do need to smoke, there are special areas where it is allowed.
You will find the radio switch on the wall near your bed, with your own headphones, if you want to listen. It is our own hospital radio wishing you a speedy recovery.

Many people go to school for an education. They learn languages, history, geography, physics, chemistry and mathematics. Others go to school to learn a skill so that they can make a living. School education is very important and useful. Yet no one can learn everything from school. A teacher,no matter how much he knows can not teach his students everything they want to know. The teacher’s job is to show his students how to learn. He teaches them how to read and how to think. So much more is to be learned outside school by the students themselves. It is always more important to study by oneself than to memorize some facts or a formula(公式). It is actually quite easy to learn a certain fact in history or a formula in maths. But it is very difficult to use a formula in working out a maths problem. Great scientists, such as Einstein, Newton and Galileo didn’t get everything from school. But they were all so successful. They invented so many things for mankind. The reason for their success is that they worked hard all their lives, wasting not a single moment. They would ask many questions as they read and they did thousands of experiments. Above all, they knew how to use their brains.
61. The subject which is not spoken of in the article is _____ A. maths B. history C. physiology D. physics 62. The teacher’s job is to teach ___________. A. everything the students want to know
B. the students everything that they know C. the students some facts of formulas
D. the students how to learn 63. Einstein, Newton and Galileo did so many things for mankind because____________. A. they learned a lot at school B. they knew how to learn new things outside class by themselves C. they were so useful
D. they went to college and learned form professors 64. Who does the article say didn’t waste a single moment? A. Great people B. Persons who work as teachers C. The great scientist-Newton D. Great scientists

Most people say “yes” much more readily than “no”.
A friend is moving house this weekend and would like some help, and you agree. But, what you really wanted was a couple of quiet days relaxing at home. Or a roommate spends the entire weekends playing video games and wants to borrow your homework for “reference”. But, you’ve just finished it after taking a whole day to work hard.
Many people say “yes” to these kinds of requests. They tend not to consider their own interests and feelings, and are often angry with themselves afterwards .
Saying “no” requires courage and considerable practice, in fact, according to psychologists .
“Everyone wants to be liked,” says Gabriele Steinki, a German psychologist. “Saying ‘no’ risks losing the affection of the person asking the favor or even a job.”
The result is that many people say “yes” just for keeping the peace. But experts say this is regrettable . Anyone should have the right to say “no”.
In fact, rejecting a request can even help to strengthen a relationship because it expresses a true feeling.
But, for people Used to agreeing to every request, changing can be a long and uncomfortable learning process.
Most people believe that “If I say ‘no’, I'll lose the affection of the person. But the affection is important to me.” This way of thinking can be replaced by this: “If he only likes me because I always do what suits him , then the price of his affection is too high in the long term.”
Steinki says the key is talking to the other person to find a mutual (相互的) solution. “One heeds to present the situation from one’s own point of view, and to suggest how the situation can be dealt with to the advantage of both parties. The other person must have the feeling that his interests are being considered.”
When the refusal is not accepted, Steinki advises giving the reasons calmly again until the person gets the message .
65. Most people say “yes” much more readily than “no” because ________.
A. they don’t care about their own interests and feelings
B. they don’t know they will regret afterwards
C. they have already been used to saying “yes”
D. they care more about others’ affection
66. In the opinion of experts, _________ .
A. people need a lot of practice to say “no”
B. people should say “yes” to keep the peace
C. saying “no” means losing a job
D. people have the right to be liked
67.According to the writer, what should you do if you want to refuse the other person’s request?
A. Just say you can’t help him. B. Say sorry to him.
C. Refuse him clearly. D. Talk to the other person to find a mutual way.
68.According to the writer, what should you do if your refusal is not accepted?
A. Say yes to him. B. Repeat your reason for his acceptance
C. Just go away D. Say no to him

A. You Need Courage To Say “No” B. “Yes” More Than “No”

Dear Editor,
I am writing to tell you the discussion we’ve had about whether students of senior three should take physical exercise. 60% of the students think they should take exercise every day, such as doing morning exercises, playing basketball, but it shouldn’t take up too much time. Exercise builds one’s body and reduces diseases, Sports let their brains have a rest so that their revision will be more effective.
While other 40% of the students believe taking exercise is a waste of time and tiring. After having sports, they are much too excited for a long time to pay attention to their lessons. It is also possible to be hurt in sports.
In my opinion, I think taking exercise is good to us, especially to our senior three students, but we shouldn’t spend too much time on the sports.
