第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
People
have
been
painting
pictures
for
at
least
30,000
years.
The
earliest
pictures
were
painted
by
people
who
hunted
animals.
They
used
to
paint
pictures
of
the
animals
they
wanted
to
catch
and
kill.
Pictures
of
this
kind
have
been
found
on
the
walls
of
caves
in
France
and
Spain.
No
one
knows
why
they
were
painted
there.
Perhaps
the
painters
thought
that
their
pictures
would
help
them
to
catch
these
animals.
Or
perhaps
human
beings
have
always
wanted
to
tell
stories
in
pictures.
About
5,000
years
ago,
the
Egyptians
and
other
people
in
the
Near
East
began
to
use
pictures
as
a
kind
of
writing.
They
drew
simple
pictures
or
signs
to
represent
things
and
ideas,
and
also
to
represent
the
sounds
of
their
language.
The
signs
these
people
used
became
a
kind
of
alphabet.
The
Egyptians
used
to
record
information
and
to
tell
stories
by
putting
pictures
together.
When
an
important
person
died,
scenes
and
stories
from
his
life
were
painted
and
carved
on
the
walls
of
the
place
where
he
was
buried.
Some
of
these
pictures
are
like
modern
comic_strip_stories.
It
has
been
said
that
Egypt
is
the
home
of
the
comic
strip.
But,
for
the
Egyptians,
pictures
still
had
magic
power.
So
they
did
not
try
to
make
their
way
of
writing
simple.
The
ordinary
people
could
not
understand
it.
By
the
year
1,000
BC,
people
who
lived
in
the
area
around
the
Mediterranean
Sea
had
developed
a
simpler
system
of
writing.
The
signs
they
used
were
very
easy
to
write,
and
there
were
fewer
of
them
than
in
the
Egyptian
system.
This
was
because
each
sign,
or
letter,
represented
only
one
sound
in
their
language.
The
Greeks
developed
this
system
and
formed
the
letters
of
the
Greek
alphabet.
The
Romans
copied
the
idea,
and
the
Roman
alphabet
is
now
used
all
over
the
world.
These
days,
we
can
write
down
a
story,
or
record
information,
without
using
pictures.
But
we
still
need
pictures
of
all
kinds:drawing,
photographs,
signs
and
diagrams.
We
find
them
everywhere:in
books
and
newspapers,
in
the
street,
and
on
the
walls
of
the
places
where
we
live
and
work.
Pictures
help
us
to
understand
and
remember
things
more
easily,
and
they
can
make
a
story
much
more
interesting.
21.Pictures
of
animals
were
painted
on
the
walls
of
caves
in
France
and
Spain
because

hunters
wanted
to
see
the
pictures
B.the
painters
were
animal
lovers
C.the
painters
wanted
to
show
imagination
D.the
pictures
were
thought
to
be
helpful
22.Which
of
the
following
statements
is
TRUE
A.The
Egyptian
signs
later
became
a
particular
alphabet.
B.The
Egyptians
liked
to
write
comic
strip
stories.
C.The
Roman
alphabet
was
developed
from
the
Egyptian
one.
D.The
Greeks
copied
their
writing
system
from
the
Egyptians.
23.In
the

thinks
that
pictures
________.
A.should
be
made

of
much
use
in
our
life
D.have
disappeared
from
our
life
24.The
underlined
phrase
“comic
strip
stories”
in
Paragraph
3
probably
means
________.
A.a
series
of
drawn
pictures
inside
boxes
that
tell
a
story
B.a
funny
drawing
in
a
newspaper,
often
including
humorous
remarks
C.a
short
film
that
is
made
by
photographing
a
series
of
drawing
D.a
book
of
stories
for
children
B
The
summer
I
was
ten,
my
mother
decided
to
bring
us
to
the
world
of
art.
My
brother
and
I
were
not
very
excited
when
we
realized
what
our
mother
meant.
What
she
meant
was
not
that
we
could
take
drawing
classes
or
painting
classes
but
that
we
would
have
to
spend
one
afternoon
a
week
with
her
at
the
Fine
Arts
Museum.
Before
each
visit
to
the
museum,
she
made
us
read
about
artists
and
painting
styles.
It
was
almost
as
bad
as
being
in
school.
Who
wants
to
spend
the
summer
thinking
about
artists
when
you
could
be
with
your
friends
at
the
swimming
pool
First
we
had
to
read
about
ancient
Egyptians
and
their
strange
ways
of
painting
faces
and
then
go
to
look
at
them
at
the
museum.
My
12 year old
brother
thought
this
was
so
funny,
but
I
was
not
interested.
Later
we
had
to
learn
about
artists
in
the
Middle
Ages
who
painted
people
wearing
strange
long
clothing.
We
had
to
look
at
pictures
of
fat
babies
with
wings
and
curly
(卷曲的)
hair
and
with
no
clothes
on
flying
around
the
edges
of
paintings.
I
certainly
couldn't
see
what
was
so
great
about
art.
On
our
last
visit
to
the
museum,
something
happened
when
I
saw
a
painting
by
a
woman
called
Mary.
In
it,
a
woman
was
reading
to
a
child.
The
colors
were
soft
and
gentle,
and
you
could
tell
by
the
mother's
expression
how
happy
she
was
just
to
be
with
the
child.
I
couldn't
stop
looking
at
this
painting!
I
wanted
to
see
every
painting
Mary
had
ever
made!
It
was
really
worth
looking
at
so
many
paintings
to
find
a
painter
who
could
interest
me
so
much.

strange
way
of
painting.

curiosity

C
As
a
student,
you
often
wonder
why
you
have
to
take
communication
and
public
speaking
classes,
but
in
the
real
sense,
such
classes
are
meant
to
teach
us
how
to
develop
our
communication
skills.
These
classes
prepare
you
in
real
life
where
you
interact
with
professors,
students,
heads
of
departments,
the
outside
world,
and
different
types
of
people
in
different
settings
and
situations.
One
instance
where
you
need
to
have
a
good
communication
skill
is
when
you
are
running
for
college
election
in
the
students'
organization.
Students
are
required
to
elect
their
leaders
who
will
effectively
manage
the
student
body
to
achieve
the
goals
they
have
set.
Here,
the
nominated
(提名的)
students
must
give
an
excellent
public
speech.
Your
appointment
as
a
student
leader
is
one
where
you
have
to
practice
and
develop
your
communication
skills.
As
a
nominee
for
any
position,
you
may
be
invited
to
give
speeches
on
how
you
will
lead
the
organization
and
how
you
will
carry
your
plans
out
effectively.
This
will
require
you
to
speak
to
a
large
number
of
students.
Preparing
for
speeches
is
one
of
the
better
ways
to
improve
skills
and
find
ways
to
present
yourself
well
by
using
good
communication.
To
do
this,
it's
important
to
learn
how
to
make
rough
drafts
ahead
of
time
as
to
what
you
plan
to
say,
which
is
another
important
step
of
the
learning
process.
An
effective
way
to
begin
is
to
write
ideas
down
on
a
sheet
of
paper
with
short
headings.
Getting
on
the
stage,
organize
your
thoughts
in
your
mind
and
smile
to
the
public,
so
that
you
express
your
thoughts
properly.
Since
it
is
a
campaign
and
you
would
have
to
try
to
influence
and
attract
the
audience,
you
have
to
be
very
confident
and
enthusiastic
about
the
elections.
Send
your
message
across
the
whole
audience
in
a
clear
and
understandable
voice
tone.
It
is
the
nature
of
the
speaker
to
be
very
firm
and
decisive
(果断的)
in
the
message
he
wants
to
send.
This
should
be
your
speaking
style.
Speak
in
such
a
way
that
you
must
let
your
audience
know
your
point
and
give
a
good
impression
that
you
can
be
an
effective
leader.

Dear
Principal,
I
am
a
Senior

student.
I
am
writing
to
give
you
some
suggestions
about
how
to
decorate
our
school
with
art
works.
I
think
our
school
should
be
decorated
with
some
art
works,
because
art
is
part
of
life.
We
can
see
art
works
on
display
in
public
parks,
city
squares,
shopping
streets
and
public
gardens.
So
we
should
also
have
some
art
works
in
our
school.
The
art
works
will
beautify
our
school
and
can
also
be
used
to
educate
students.
Besides,
some
art
works
can
enrich
our
school
life.
We
should
place
a
statue
in
our
school
garden.
The
statue
will
make
our
school
garden
beautiful.
On
the
outside
wall
of
the
classroom,
we
should
hang
up
some
photos
of
cultural
relics
with
descriptions.
Students
will
learn
a
lot
about
cultural
relics
all
over
the
world.
Besides,
these
photos
will
also
make
our
teaching
buildings
more
beautiful.On
the
walls
of
the
lobby,
we
can
put
some
of
the
students'
paintings,
drawings
and
some
other
art
works.
Students
will
be
encouraged
and
their
parents
will
appreciate
them
too.
We
can
put
photos
of
famous
graduates
and
also
their
stories
on
the
pillars
(柱子).
Their
stories
will
inspire
the
students
to
work
hard
and
do
more
for
our
school
and
they
will
be
proud
of
our
school
and
think
highly
of
our
school's
management.
We
need
24
photos
and
statues
in
all
for
the
whole
teaching
buildings.
For
the
lobby
(门廊),
the
students
can
decorate
it
with
our
own
art
works.
That
is
the
plan
of
decoration.
I
do
hope
you
will
consider
it.
Looking
forward
to
your

for
charity,
volunteering
can
really
be
almost
anything.
It
means
that
when
you
get
involved
in
charity
work,
a
lot
of
the
time
you
will
face
challenges.
__37__
◆Can
teach
you
what
truly
matters
It's
a
great
way
to
find
new
perspectives
(角度)
on
life.
When
you've
been
at
it
for
a
while,
you
just
might
find
yourself
re evaluating
your
advantages.
__38__
One
of
my
friends
went
from
wanting
to
be
a
lawyer
to
discovering
a
true
passion
for
teaching.
◆__39__
Maybe
it's
not
so
surprising,
but
what
might
surprise
you
is
how
genuine
these
friends
are.
Some
of
my
long term
friends
are
people
I've
met
through
volunteering.
I'm
not
the
kind
of
guy
that
makes
friends
purely
for
connections,
but
sometimes
it's
very
convenient
to
have
a
broad
network.
Summed
up
in
one
line:
volunteering
helps
you
grow.
__40__
You
meet
a
very
wide
variety
of
people
you
don't
have
a
lot
in
common
with.
You
learn
to
get
along
with
people
involved
in
many
different
walks
in
life.
You
learn
to
know
what
you
are
to
do.
So
if
you've
ever
considered
volunteering,
what
are
you
waiting
for
A.Helps
you
make
new
friends
B.Can
help
improve
social
skills
C.You
might
even
decide
on
a
completely
new
path
to
take
in
life.
D.As
it
turns
out,
that's
far
from
the
only
benefit.
E.Volunteering
helps
you
look
outside
yourself
and
your
problems.
F.Through
overcoming
the
challenges,
you
learn
completely
new
skills.
G.Not
only
as
a
person,
but
it
helps
you
develop
your
skill
set
as
well.

Time
flies!
This
is
a
third
year
that
I
have
been
in
this
school.
In
the
past
two
and
a
half
years,
our
school
had
organized
many
activities.
What
impressed
me
best
was
an
activity
called
“Learning
to
Farm”.
In
an
autumn
afternoon,
we
were
sent
to
a
farm
which
we
learned
to
plant
potatoes.
Having
been
in
the
city
for
so
a
long
time,
we
were
so
happy
to
go
to
the
countryside.
After
divided
into
three
groups,
we
started
to
work.
Some
students
cut
potatoes
into
pieces,
some
dug
holes,
and
the
others
put
the
pieces
of
potatoes
into
the
hole,
put
the
earth
back
and
pushed
them
down
hard.
We
continued
doing
that
until
all
the
work
was
done.
Although
we
were
exhausted,
but
we
felt
fulfilled
on
our
way
back
home.

第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
People
have
been
painting
pictures
for
at
least
30,000
years.
The
earliest
pictures
were
painted
by
people
who
hunted
animals.
They
used
to
paint
pictures
of
the
animals
they
wanted
to
catch
and
kill.
Pictures
of
this
kind
have
been
found
on
the
walls
of
caves
in
France
and
Spain.
No
one
knows
why
they
were
painted
there.
Perhaps
the
painters
thought
that
their
pictures
would
help
them
to
catch
these
animals.
Or
perhaps
human
beings
have
always
wanted
to
tell
stories
in
pictures.
About
5,000
years
ago,
the
Egyptians
and
other
people
in
the
Near
East
began
to
use
pictures
as
a
kind
of
writing.
They
drew
simple
pictures
or
signs
to
represent
things
and
ideas,
and
also
to
represent
the
sounds
of
their
language.
The
signs
these
people
used
became
a
kind
of
alphabet.
The
Egyptians
used
to
record
information
and
to
tell
stories
by
putting
pictures
together.
When
an
important
person
died,
scenes
and
stories
from
his
life
were
painted
and
carved
on
the
walls
of
the
place
where
he
was
buried.
Some
of
these
pictures
are
like
modern
comic_strip_stories.
It
has
been
said
that
Egypt
is
the
home
of
the
comic
strip.
But,
for
the
Egyptians,
pictures
still
had
magic
power.
So
they
did
not
try
to
make
their
way
of
writing
simple.
The
ordinary
people
could
not
understand
it.
By
the
year
1,000
BC,
people
who
lived
in
the
area
around
the
Mediterranean
Sea
had
developed
a
simpler
system
of
writing.
The
signs
they
used
were
very
easy
to
write,
and
there
were
fewer
of
them
than
in
the
Egyptian
system.
This
was
because
each
sign,
or
letter,
represented
only
one
sound
in
their
language.
The
Greeks
developed
this
system
and
formed
the
letters
of
the
Greek
alphabet.
The
Romans
copied
the
idea,
and
the
Roman
alphabet
is
now
used
all
over
the
world.
These
days,
we
can
write
down
a
story,
or
record
information,
without
using
pictures.
But
we
still
need
pictures
of
all
kinds:drawing,
photographs,
signs
and
diagrams.
We
find
them
everywhere:in
books
and
newspapers,
in
the
street,
and
on
the
walls
of
the
places
where
we
live
and
work.
Pictures
help
us
to
understand
and
remember
things
more
easily,
and
they
can
make
a
story
much
more
interesting.
21.Pictures
of
animals
were
painted
on
the
walls
of
caves
in
France
and
Spain
because
________.
A.the
hunters
wanted
to
see
the
pictures
B.the
painters
were
animal
lovers
C.the
painters
wanted
to
show
imagination
D.the
pictures
were
thought
to
be
helpful
解析:选D 细节理解题。根据文章第一段中“Perhaps
the
painters
thought
...
these
animals.”可知,古代人以为在墙上画画会对他们有所帮助,故选项D为正确答案。
22.Which
of
the
following
statements
is
TRUE
A.The
Egyptian
signs
later
became
a
particular
alphabet.
B.The
Egyptians
liked
to
write
comic
strip
stories.
C.The
Roman
alphabet
was
developed
from
the
Egyptian
one.
D.The
Greeks
copied
their
writing
system
from
the
Egyptians.
解析:选A 细节理解题。通过阅读文章很清楚选项B和D为错误陈述。选项C“罗马字母是从埃及字母发展而来的”根据文章第四段第四、五句可知为错误论述,因此只有选项A为正确答案。
23.In
the
last
paragraph,
the
author
thinks
that
pictures
________.
A.should
be
made
comprehensible
B.should
be
made
interesting
C.are
of
much
use
in
our
life
D.have
disappeared
from
our
life
解析:选C 推理判断题。文章最后一段讲述了图画在今天的用途,故选项C为正确答案。
24.The
underlined
phrase
“comic
strip

in
Paragraph
3
probably
means
________.
A.a
series
of
drawn
pictures
inside

a
story
B.a

in
a
newspaper,
often
including
humorous
remarks
C.a
short
film
that
is
made
by
photographing
a
series
of
drawing
D.a
book
of
stories

children
解析:选A 猜测词义题。通过上下文可知,comic
strip
stories指“连环漫画故事”,故选A项。
B
The
summer
I
was
ten,
my
mother
decided
to
bring
us
to
the
world
of
art.
My
brother
and
I
were
not
very
excited
when
we
realized
what
our
mother
meant.
What
she
meant
was
not
that
we
could
take
drawing
classes
or
painting
classes
but
that
we
would
have
to
spend
one
afternoon
a
week
with
her
at
the
Fine
Arts
Museum.
Before
each
visit
to
the
museum,
she
made
us
read
about
artists
and
painting
styles.
It
was
almost
as
bad
as
being
in
school.
Who
wants
to
spend
the
summer
thinking
about
artists
when
you
could
be
with
your
friends
at
the
swimming
pool
First
we
had
to
read
about
ancient
Egyptians
and
their
strange
ways
of
painting
faces
and
then
go
to
look
at
them
at
the
museum.
My
12 year old
brother
thought
this
was
so
funny,
but
I
was
not
interested.
Later
we
had
to
learn
about
artists
in
the
Middle
Ages
who
painted
people
wearing
strange
long
clothing.
We
had
to
look
at
pictures
of
fat
babies
with
wings
and
curly
(卷曲的)
hair
and
with
no
clothes
on
flying
around
the
edges
of
paintings.
I
certainly
couldn't
see
what
was
so
great
about
art.
On
our
last
visit
to
the
museum,
something
happened
when
I
saw
a
painting
by
a
woman
called
Mary.
In
it,
a
woman
was
reading
to
a
child.
The
colors
were
soft
and
gentle,
and
you
could
tell
by
the
mother's
expression
how
happy
she
was
just
to
be
with
the
child.
I
couldn't
stop
looking
at
this
painting!
I
wanted
to
see
every
painting
Mary
had
ever
made!
It
was
really
worth
looking
at
so
many
paintings
to
find
a
painter
who
could
interest
me
so
much.

the
world
of
art

A.She
came
to
feel
her
mother's
love.
B.She
liked
many
paintings.

power
of
family
education

C
As
a
student,
you
often
wonder
why
you
have
to
take
communication
and
public
speaking
classes,
but
in
the
real
sense,
such
classes
are
meant
to
teach
us
how
to
develop
our
communication
skills.
These
classes
prepare
you
in
real
life
where
you
interact
with
professors,
students,
heads
of
departments,
the
outside
world,
and
different
types
of
people
in
different
settings
and
situations.
One
instance
where
you
need
to
have
a
good
communication
skill
is
when
you
are
running
for
college
election
in
the
students'
organization.
Students
are
required
to
elect
their
leaders
who
will
effectively
manage
the
student
body
to
achieve
the
goals
they
have
set.
Here,
the
nominated
(提名的)
students
must
give
an
excellent
public
speech.
Your
appointment
as
a
student
leader
is
one
where
you
have
to
practice
and
develop
your
communication
skills.
As
a
nominee
for
any
position,
you
may
be
invited
to
give
speeches
on
how
you
will
lead
the
organization
and
how
you
will
carry
your
plans
out
effectively.
This
will
require
you
to
speak
to
a
large
number
of
students.
Preparing
for
speeches
is
one
of
the
better
ways
to
improve
skills
and
find
ways
to
present
yourself
well
by
using
good
communication.
To
do
this,
it's
important
to
learn
how
to
make
rough
drafts
ahead
of
time
as
to
what
you
plan
to
say,
which
is
another
important
step
of
the
learning
process.
An
effective
way
to
begin
is
to
write
ideas
down
on
a
sheet
of
paper
with
short
headings.
Getting
on
the
stage,
organize
your
thoughts
in
your
mind
and
smile
to
the
public,
so
that
you
express
your
thoughts
properly.
Since
it
is
a
campaign
and
you
would
have
to
try
to
influence
and
attract
the
audience,
you
have
to
be
very
confident
and
enthusiastic
about
the
elections.
Send
your
message
across
the
whole
audience
in
a
clear
and
understandable
voice
tone.
It
is
the
nature
of
the
speaker
to
be
very
firm
and
decisive
(果断的)
in
the
message
he
wants
to
send.
This
should
be
your
speaking
style.
Speak
in
such
a
way
that
you
must
let
your
audience
know
your
point
and
give
a
good
impression
that
you
can
be
an
effective
leader.

Dear
Principal,
I
am
a
Senior

student.
I
am
writing
to
give
you
some
suggestions
about
how
to
decorate
our
school
with
art
works.
I
think
our
school
should
be
decorated
with
some
art
works,
because
art
is
part
of
life.
We
can
see
art
works
on
display
in
public
parks,
city
squares,
shopping
streets
and
public
gardens.
So
we
should
also
have
some
art
works
in
our
school.
The
art
works
will
beautify
our
school
and
can
also
be
used
to
educate
students.
Besides,
some
art
works
can
enrich
our
school
life.
We
should
place
a
statue
in
our
school
garden.
The
statue
will
make
our
school
garden
beautiful.
On
the
outside
wall
of
the
classroom,
we
should
hang
up
some
photos
of
cultural
relics
with
descriptions.
Students
will
learn
a
lot
about
cultural
relics
all
over
the
world.
Besides,
these
photos
will
also
make
our
teaching
buildings
more
beautiful.On
the
walls
of
the
lobby,
we
can
put
some
of
the
students'
paintings,
drawings
and
some
other
art
works.
Students
will
be
encouraged
and
their
parents
will
appreciate
them
too.
We
can
put
photos
of
famous
graduates
and
also
their
stories
on
the
pillars
(柱子).
Their
stories
will
inspire
the
students
to
work
hard
and
do
more
for
our
school
and
they
will
be
proud
of
our
school
and
think
highly
of
our
school's
management.
We
need
24
photos
and
statues
in
all
for
the
whole
teaching
buildings.
For
the
lobby
(门廊),
the
students
can
decorate
it
with
our
own
art
works.
That
is
the
plan
of
decoration.
I
do
hope
you
will
consider
it.
Looking
forward
to
your
reply.
Yours
sincerely,
Li
Hua

When
it
comes
to
the
benefit
of
volunteering,
a
lot
of
people
think
it's
all
about
the
warm
feeling
after
helping
someone.
__36__
As
is
known,
charity
work
requires
a
wide
variety
of
people
to
do
a
wide
variety
of
things
for
everything
to
work.
It
means
that
there
are
some
surprising
benefits
for
volunteers.
For
example,
volunteering:
◆Teaches
you
new
skills
From
helping
making
websites
to
teaching
immigrant
kids
your
native
language,
or
to
arranging
events
for
charity,
volunteering
can
really
be
almost
anything.
It
means
that
when
you
get
involved
in
charity
work,
a
lot
of
the
time
you
will
face
challenges.
__37__
◆Can
teach
you
what
truly
matters
It's
a
great
way
to
find
new
perspectives
(角度)
on
life.
When
you've
been
at
it
for
a
while,
you
just
might
find
yourself
re evaluating
your
advantages.
__38__
One
of
my
friends
went
from
wanting
to
be
a
lawyer
to
discovering
a
true
passion
for
teaching.
◆__39__
Maybe
it's
not
so
surprising,
but
what
might
surprise
you
is
how
genuine
these
friends
are.
Some
of
my
long term
friends
are
people
I've
met
through
volunteering.
I'm
not
the
kind
of
guy
that
makes
friends

were
sent
to
a
farm

learned

Having
been
in
the
city
for
so
a
long
time,
we
were
so
happy
to
go
to
the
countryside.
After
divided

three
groups,

started
to
work.
Some
students
cut
potatoes

dug
holes,
and
the
others
put
the
pieces
of
potatoes
into
the
hole,
put
the
earth
back
and
pushed
them
down
hard.
We
continued
doing
that

all
the
work
was
done.

we

felt
fulfilled

our
way
back
home.

Dear
Sir,

Senior

I
am
glad
to
hear
that
we
will
improve
the
service
and

of
our

So
I
am

to
offer
my
suggestions.
We
all
know
that
libraries
play
an
important
part
in
the
education
and
entertainment
for
the
students.In
my
opinion,
the
library
should
buy
the
latest
publications.
We
should
make
sure
that
it
has
full
sets
of
reference
books.What's
more,
the
school
should
the

rooms.In
this

the

All
in

I
