三、阅读理解(每小题2分,共10分)
British
people
have
always
been
good
at
saying
“I’m
sorry”.
They
used
to
be
so
good
at
it
that
they
would
apologize
(道歉)
for
things
that
weren’t
even
their
fault
(错误).

However,
the
British
seem
to
be
losing
touch
with
their
art.
According
to
a
new
book
by
British
writer
Max
Davidson,
instead
of
saying
“I’m
sorry”
when
they
do
something
wrong,
British
people
prefer
to
choose
their
words
carefully.

In
his
book,
“Sorry...The
Hardest
Word
and
How
to
Use
It”,
Davidson
writes
about
a
number
of
recent
apologies(道歉).
One
example
is
of
British
television
host
Jeremy
Clarkson.
He
described
Gordon
Brown,
then
UK
prime
minister
(首相),
as
“a
one-eyed
Scottish
idiot
(笨蛋)”.
(Brown
is
blind
in
his
left
eye.)

Clarkson
was
forced
to
apologize.
He
said:
“In
the
heat
of
the
moment,
I
made
a
comment
about
the
prime
minister.
Now
I
apologize
on
reflection.”
Davidson
says
the
apology
was
just
“going
through
the
motions
(做表面文章)”.
Clarkson
is
not
the
only
one.
The
best
example
may
come
from
a
UK
MP
(议员)
Tessa
Jowell.
She
said
to
the
public:
“If
you
feel
our
government
falls
short
of
what
you
expect,
then
I
say
sorry
for
that.”

Jowell
said
“sorry”.
But
she
is
actually
saying
it’s
not
the
government’s
fault
but
the
voters’
(选民的)
fault
for
expecting
too
much
from
the
government.

Perhaps
those
people
with
influence
feel
they
may
lose
too
much
by
apologizing.
But
as
a
teenager,
would
you
really
want
to
lose
a
close
friend,
just
because
you
couldn’t
say
something
as
simple
as,
“I’m
sorry”
That
would
be
hard
to
forgive
(原谅).
(
)36.Who

improper
description

(
)37.What
does
the
underlined
sentence
in
the
second
paragraph
mean
A.
The
British
are
still
good
at
apologizing.
B.
The
British
like
to
say
sorry
for
everything
they
have
done.
C.
The
British
don’t
want
to
say
"I’m
sorry"
now.
D.
The
British
lose
too
much
by
saying
"sorry".

Smoking
is
bad
for
you,
but
what
if
your
parents
smoke
You
might
be
worried
about
their
health,
be
tired
of
smelling
the
smoke,
or
even
a
little
embarrassed
by
it.
You
can’t
order
your
parents
to
stop
smoking,
but
you
can
encourage
them
to
give
up
this
bad
habit.
Tell
them
smoking
is
not
good
for
their
health.
If
you
think
it
will
help,
you
could
find
some
articles
like
this
one
and
give
them
to
your
parents.
Many
states
now
have
free
programs
to
help
people
give
up
smoking.
You
might
even
see
them
advertised
on
billboards
in
your
town.
Point
these
out
to
your
parents
and
encourage
them
to
find
out
more
about
these
programs.
What
if
your
parents
get
angry
with
you
for
mentioning
the
topic
of
smoking
People
don’t
like
to
be
told
that
they
are
doing
something
unhealthy,
so
it
is
possible
your
parents
will
be
angry,
especially
if
they
are
worried
they
won’t
be
able
to
give
up
smoking.
Maybe
they
have
tried
before
but
failed.
Remember
to
be
kind
and
show
respect
when
you
discuss
smoking
with
your
parents.
Also
remember
that
it
is
not
easy
to
give
up
smoking.
Some
people
have
tried
several
times
before
they’re
able
to
give
up.
Instead
of
shouting
at
them,
tell
them
that
you
love
them
and
want
them
to
enjoy
many
healthy
years
ahead.
They
may
eventually
realize
you
are
right
about
smoking.
If
your
parents
agree
to
stop
smoking,
be
their
biggest
supporter.
Ask
if
there
is
anything
you
can
do
when
they
feel
the
desire
to
smoke.
Maybe
you
could
go
for
a
walk,
do
a
puzzle,
or
listen
to
music
together.
As
they
reach
milestones,
such
as
a
month
without
smoking,
Remember
to
celebrate
the
achievement.

书面表达。(15分)
根据下列提示要点写一篇约60词介绍陈龙(Jackie
Chan)的小短文,要点如下:
我最喜爱的影星是成龙,他举世闻名。他于1954年出生在香港。在成为演员之前他当特技替身。迄今为止他出演过将近100部影片,并且赢得很多奖项。他的电影成功地将幽默与令人激动的动作融为一体。成龙是一位中国功夫巨星,但他的成就远胜于此。他还经常致力于慈善事业。许多人认为他是巨星,不仅因为他在动作中的成功,还因为他在慈善工作中的努力。
