语法梳理
及物动词和不及物动词
英语中的实义动词,有及物动词(transitive
verb)和不及物动词(intransitive
verb)之分,缩写形式分别为vt.和vi.。
及物动词
及物动词是指后面可直接跟宾语,并且必须跟宾语才能使其意义完整的动词。大部分及物动词有被动语态。及物动词常用于以下三种结构中:
“主语+谓语+宾语”结构
此时的宾语可以是一个名词、代词、动词不定式(短语)、疑问词+动词不定式、动名词(短语)或者从句。如:
He
charged
the
battery.(名词)
Eventually,his
behavior
satisfied
her.(代词)
I
want
to
get
your
help.(动词不定式短语)
I
don’t
know
what
to
do.(疑问词+动词不定式)
He
delayed
telling
her
the
news.(动名词短语)
No
one
can
foresee
what
will
happen
in
the
future.(宾语从句)
学法点拨:①常接动词不定式作宾语的动词有attempt,decide,desire,expect,hope,intend,learn,need,offer,pretend,promise,refuse,want,wish等。②可以接“疑问词+动词不定式”作宾语的动词有ask,consider(考虑),decide,discover,explain,forget,guess,know,learn,remember,see,tell,think,understand,wonder等。③常接动名词作宾语的动词有advise,avoid,ban,delay,enjoy,finish,imagine,mind,miss,practise,risk等。④接动词不定式和动名词作宾语意义差别很大的动词有forget,remember,regret,mean等。
“主语+谓语+双宾语”结构
①该结构中的谓语动词必须跟两个宾语才能表达完整的意思。一个是表示人的间接宾语,一个是表示物的直接宾语。间接宾语一般在前面,直接宾语在后面。如:
Tom
sent
Mary
a
text
message.
②有时直接宾语和间接宾语可以位置对调,此时间接宾语前应加上介词to或for。
主语+及物动词+物(直接宾语)+to+人(间接宾语)。如:
A
man
was
distributing
leaflets
to
the
passers-by.
主语+及物动词+物(直接宾语)+for+人(间接宾语)。如:
The
woman
bought
an
elegant
dress
for
her
daughter.
学法点拨:间接宾语前常用to的动词有give,tell,lend,sell,teach,send,write,show,bring,pass,offer,hand等。间接宾语前加介词for的动词有buy,choose,get,make,order,sing,do,save等。
“主语+谓语+复合宾语”结构
该结构中的动词虽然是及物动词,但是只跟宾语还不能表达完整的意思,必须加上一个补充成分,才能表达一个完整的意思。如:
We
elected
Li
Yang
our
monitor.(Li
Yang
is
our
monitor.)
The
news
made
us
sad.(We
were
sad.)
能充当宾语补足语的有名词、形容词、介词短语、动词不定式(短语)、分词等,用来补充说明宾语。如:
He
appointed
John
marketing
manager.(名词)
The
manufacturers
made
the
computers
portable.(形容词)
I
found
myself
in
darkness.(介词短语)
The
state
government
encouraged
voters
to
vote.(动词不定式)
Don’t
leave
the
water
running
after
you
have
washed
your
hands.(分词)
学法点拨:有时作宾语的动词不定式、动名词、宾语从句跟一个补足语时,为保持句子结构平衡,避免句式结构混乱,要用it作形式宾语,而将真正的宾语放于句尾,构成“主语+谓语+it+宾补+真正宾语”结构。如:I
found
it
very
pleasant
to
be
with
your
family.
不及物动词
不及物动词后面不可以直接跟宾语,但可以接副词、动词不定式短语、介词短语、状语从句等作状语。不及物动词没有被动语态。
The
lady
behaves
elegantly.(副词)
They
stopped
to
take
a
short
rest.(动词不定式短语)
He
is
standing
by
the
window.(介词短语)
不及物动词如果要接宾语,必须加相应的介词或副词。这些加了介词或副词的不及物动词,很多有固定的意思。如:
The
boy
looked
up
every
word
he
came
across
while
reading.
这类结构常见的有appeal
to,associate
with,belong
to,bow
to,care
for,complain
of,consist
of,contribute
to,depend
on,end
with,lead
to,listen
to,long

for等。

二、阅读理解
A
world-famous
Canadian
author,
Margaret
Atwood,
has
created
the
world’s
first
long-distance
signing
device(装置),
the
LongPen.
After
many
tiring
book-signing
tours
from
city
to
city,
Atwood
thought
there
must
be
a
better
way
to
do
them
.
She
hired
some
technical
experts
and
started
her
own
company
in
2004.
Together
they
designed
the
LongPen.
Here’s
how
it
works:
The
author
writes
a
personal
message
and
signature
on
a
computer
tablet(手写板)
using
a
special
pen.
On
the
receiving
end,
in
another
city,
a
robotic
arm
fitted
with
a
regular
pen
signs
the
book.
The
author
and
fan
can
talk
with
each
other
via
webcams(网络摄像机)
and
computer
screens。
Work
on
the
LongPen
began
in
Atwood’s
basement(地下室).
At
first,
they
had
no
idea
it
would
be
as
hard
as
it
turned
out
to
be.
The
device
went
through
several
versions,
including
one
that
actually
had
smoke
coming
out
of
it.
The
investing
finally
completed,
teat
runs
w
ere
made
in
Ottawa,
and
the
LongPen
was
officially
launched
at
the
2006
London
Book
Fair.
From
here
,
Atwood
conducted
two
transatlantic
book
signings
of
her
latest
book
for
fans
in
Toronto
and
New
York
City.
The
LongPen
produces
a
unique
signature
each
time
because
it
copies
the
movement
of
the
author
in
real
time.
It
has
several
other
potential
applications.
It
could
increase
credit
card
security
and
allow
people
to
sign
contracts
from
another
province.
The
video
exchange
between
signer
and
receiver
can
be
recorded
on
DVD
for
proof
when
legal
documents
are
used.
“It’s
really
fun”,
said
the
owner
of
a
bookstore,
who
was
present
for
one
of
the
test
runs.
“Obviously
you
can’t
shake
hands
with
the
author
but
there
are
chances
for
a
connection
that
you
don’t
get
from
a
regular
book
signing..
The
response
to
the
invention
has
not
been
all
favorable.
Atwood
has
received
criticism
from
authors
who
think
she
is
trying
to
end
book
tours.
But
she
said,
“It
will
be
possible
to
go
to
places
that
you
never
got
sent
to
before
because
the
publishers
couldn’t afford
it.”
1.
Why
did
Atwood
decide
to
invent
the
LongPen
A.
To
set
up
her
own
company.
B.
To
win
herself
greater
popularity.
C.
To
write
her
books
in
a
new
way.
D.
To
make
book
signings
less
tiring.
2.
How
does
the
LongPen
work
A.
I
copies
the
author’s
signature
and
prints
it
on
a
book.
B.
It
signs
a
book
while receiving
the
author’s
signature.
C.
The
webcam
sends
the
author’s
signature
to
another
city.
D.
The
fan
uses
it
to
copy
the
author’s
signature
himself.
3.
What
do
we
know
about
the
invention
of
the
LongPen
A.
It
has
been
completed
but
not
put
into
use.
B.
The
basement
caught
fire
by
accident.
C.
Some
versions
failed
before
its
test
run.
D.
The
designers
were
well-prepared
for
the
difficulty.
4.
How
could
the
LongPen
be
used
in
the
future
A.
To
draft
legal
documents.
B.
To
improve
credit
card
security.
C.
To
keep
a
record
of
the
author’s
ideas.
D.
To
allow
author
and
fan
to
exchange
videos.
5.
What
could
be
inferred
from
Paragraphs
5
and
6
A.
Atwood
doesn’t
mean
to
end
book
tours.
B.
Critics
think
the
LongPen
is
of
little
use.
C.
Bookstore
owners
do
not
support
the
LongPen.
D.
Publishers
dislike
the
LongPen
for
its
high
cost.

三、任务型阅读
In
the
United
States,
engineering
is
a
profession(职业)
that
has
been
historically
by
men.Even
today,
it's
still
true
that
few
women
become
civil
or
chemical
or
mechanical
engineers,
but
that's something
on
www.EngineerGirl.org
aims
to
change
the
present
situation.
Young
women
who visit
the
web
site
can
find
out
about
a
great
career
choice
they
might
not
have
considered.

"Women
are
not
well
represented
in
engineering
and
in
engineering
education
programs
and
then
of course,
down
the
road,
in
the
engineering
workforce.
So
only
about
20
percent
of
engineering undergraduate
degrees
(本科文凭)
go
to
women,
and
then
only
about
nine
percent
of
working
engineers are
women."

Mary
Mattis,
the
National
Academy
of
Engineering,
says
"we
know
from
the
research
that
middle-school
girls
are
at
a
critical
point
in
their
lives,
and
that
it's
a
time
when
we
need
to
reach
them,
so this
website
aims
to
increase
their
awareness
of
interesting
fields
in
engineering.
On
the
other
hand,
it
wants to
make
them
understand
what
a
wonderful
productive
and
exciting
job
you
can
have
as
an
engineer."

Engineering
is
a
demanding
course
of
study-there
is
a
lot
of
science
and
math,
for
many
girls
and
even
boys
that
can
be
challenging.
But
Ms.
Mattis
says
that
the
EngineerGirl
website
stresses
that
engineering
can
also
be
fun
and
exciting.

"It's
about
designing
things.
It's
about
changing
the
world
for
people.
It's
about
making
a
difference. And,
in
addition,
you
can
make
a
good
living;
you
can
be
independent
economically
by
becoming
an engineer.
All
of
those
things
are
messages
that
girls
need
to
get."

While
most
engineers
go
into
traditional
fields
such
as
mechanical
and
electrical
engineering,
the EngineerGirl
site
also
emphasizes
engineering
jobs
which
are
related
to
other
fields
such
as
bio-engineering, sports
engineering
and
-believe
it
or
not-chocolate
engineering.

Even
if
you
are
not
a
girl
in
the
target(目标)
age
group,
there's
a
lot
of
interesting
information
on
the site,
including
biographies(自传)of
some
well-known
women
engineers.

Consumer
electronics
once
again
topped
the
list
of
the
most
wanted
gifts
this
holiday
season.
“Seventy-six
percent
of
consumers
who
plan
to
buy
holiday
gifts
say
that
they
will
spend
money
buying
at
least
one
technology
product;
definitely
a
solid
vote
of
confidence
for
technology.”
Steve
Koenig
is
with
the
Consumer
Electronics
Association.
He
says
the
group’s
latest
research
also
shows
that
Americans
this
year
are
spending
more
on
technology
products.
“Here
in
2012,
$252
on
average–the
technology
spend
for
consumers
this
year.”
From
tablet
computers
to
smartphones,
American
shoppers
have
been
lining
up
to
get
the
newest
and
coolest
electronic
devices
on
the
market.
There
are
more
choices
today
than
ever
before.
“It’s
kind
of
hard
to
make
a
decision.”
Tablet
computers
are
one
of
the
best-selling
products
this
year.
Brian
Tong
is
Senior
Editor
of
.
The
website
reports
on
tech
news
and
examines
the
latest
electronic
products.
He
says
the
Apple
iPad
Mini
is
one
of
the
most
popular
tablets.
Its
starting
price
is
$329.
One
of
Apple’s
biggest
competitors
is
the
Google
Nexus
7.
It
starts
at
$199.
“The
hardware
inside
is
more
powerful
than
what’s
in
the
iPad
Mini,
but
also
it
offers
you
a
lot
of
things
like
maps
that
work
better
than
Apple’s
maps.”
Brian
Tong
says
there
is
one
reason
why
people
may
like
the
iPad
Mini
more
than
the
Nexus
7.
“If
you
just
want
to
read
books
and
surf
the
Internet,
you
don’t
really
need
to
get
an
iPad
Mini,
but
if
you
want
the
largest
group
of
apps
that’s
where
the
iPad
and
Apple’s
ecosystem
shines
the
most.”
Elman
Chacon
is
with
the
electronics
store
Best
Buy.
He
says
another
hot
product
this
season
is
smart
cameras.
They
connect
to
the
Internet
through
Wi-Fi.
This
makes
it
easy
for
users
to
email
or
upload
photographs
directly
from
the
camera.
“You
can
literally
take
a
picture,
upload
it
into
your
Facebook
in
a
matter
of
seconds.
These
things
are
pretty
cool
because
they
do
a
lot
of
things.”
Streaming
media
boxes
also
connect
to
the
Internet.
People
are
able
to
watch
web
content
such
as
movies
and
YouTube
videos
on
their
televisions.
Another
popular
item
is
wireless
speaker
systems.
The
newest
ones
work
with
any
device
that
has
Bluetooth
technology,
including
smartphones,
laptops
and
tablets.
With
the
growing
popularity
of
Internet
shopping,
many
consumers
will
visit
a
store
first
to
look
at
a
product,
and
then
go
online
to
find
it
at
a
lower
price.
Stores
like
Best
Buy
understand
that
and
they
want
to
stay
competitive.
“We
have
something
called
the
perfect
match
promise
which
means
if
you
buy
a
certain
device
and
you
find
it
cheaper
within
30
days
we’ll
go
ahead
and
price
match
that
for
you.”
Elman
Chacon
said.
