二、任务型阅读
Good
communication
is
vital
in
modern
society.
We
know
that
much
of
the
communication
is
unspoken.
Consciously
or
unconsciously,
we
show
our
true
feelings
with
our
eyes,
faces,
bodies
and
attitudes.
Your
good
qualities
can
make
good
communication.
The
personal
qualities
include:
physical
appearance,
energy,
rate
of
speech,
pitch
and
tone
of
voice,
gestures,
expressiveness
of
eyes,
and
the
ability
to
hold
the
interest
of
others.
What
should
we
do
so
that
our
communication
will
be
effective
Here
are
my
suggestions.
Firstly,
you
should
be
yourself.
The
trick
is
to
be
consistently
you,
at
your
best.
The
most
effective
people
never
change
character
from
one
situation
to
another.
They’re
the
same
whether
they’re
having
a
conversation
with
their
close
friends,
addressing
their
garden
club
or
being
interviewed
for
a
job.
They
communicate
with
their
whole
being.
Secondly,
whether
you’re
talking
to
one
person
or
one
hundred,
always
remember
to
look
at
them.
Don’t
break
eye
contact
while
talking.
As
you
enter
a
room,
move
your
eyes
comfortably,
then
look
directly
at
those
in
the
room
and
smile.
This
shows
clearly
that
you
are
at
ease.
Smiling
is
important.
The
best
type
of
smile
and
eye
contact
is
gentle
and
comfortable,
not
forced.
You
should
also
absorb
other
people
before
showing
yourself.
You
can’t
learn
anything
when
you
talk.
When
you
attend
a
meeting,
a
party
or
an
interview,
don’t
immediately
start
throwing
your
opinions.
Stop
for
a
second.
Absorb
what’s
going
on.
What’s
the
mood
of
the
others—are
they
down,
up,
happy,
expectant
Are
they
eager
to
learn
from
you,
or
do
they
show
resistance
If
you
can
sense
what’s
happening
with
others,
you
will
be
better
able
to
reach
them.
So,
listen
before
you
talk.
The
fourth
suggestion
is
that
you
focus
your
energy.
How
do
you
get
your
energy
up
Before
the
meeting,
collect
your
thoughts
about
the
goal
of
the
meeting—yours
and
the
other’s.
Once
you
go
through
the
doorway,
no
longer
think
about
yourself.
Focus
on
the
person
you
are
meeting
to
find
out
what
he
is
interested
in.
Properly
collected
energy
comes
across
when
we
sincerely
believe
something.
When
you
speak
with
energy,
you
are
involved
with
your
audience
and
your
message.
You
create
an
air
of
certainty.
The
audience
may
disagree
with
you,
but
they
can’t
question
your
belief.
Lastly,
I
would
like
to
remind
you
that
you
should
lighten
up.
Take
a
good
hard
look
at
your
self.
Do
you
say
“I”
too
often
Are
you
only
concentrated
on
your
own
problems
Do
you
complain
frequently
If
you
answered
yes
to
even
one
of
these
questions,
you
need
to
be
more
relaxed.
How
to
communicate

二、重点语法(连系动词)
一、概念
概念:连系动词亦称系动词,它们本身有一定的词义,但不能单独作谓语,必须与__表语__一起构成系表结构,说明__主语____的状况、性质或特征等情况。
二、连系动词的分类
1.
状态类连系动词
用来表示主语的性质或状态,_________.
Be
动词
他是一名化学家。_______________________________
He
is
a
chemist.
感官类连系动词
主要是指与五种感官相关的动词,____________________________
look,
sound,feel,
taste,smell
这一学说听上去非常合理。____________________________________
The
theory
sounds
very
reasonable.
持续类连系动词
表示主语保持一种状态或态度,______________________________
remain,
keep,

already
ten
in
the

表象类连系动词
用来表示“看起来像,似乎”这一概念,主要有__________________
seem,
appear,
look等
这条河看上去很浅。______________________________

变化类连系动词

终止性连系动词
常见的这类系动词是prove,
表达“证实,变成”之意
结果证明是错误的。________________________________
The
outcome
proved
wrong.
注意事项
有些动词既可以是连系动词,又可作实义动词,遇到这种情况,只能先根据其意思判断到底是前者还是后者,然后再对后面的词性和词义作出判断,以“feel”为例:
I
felt
it
my
duty
to
help
others.
(feel
作______________)实义动词
I
felt
very
hungry
after
a
long
walk.
(feel
作______________)连系动词
连系动词无被动语态,且一般不用于进行时态,prove
及感官类系动词用主动形式表被动
随着时间的推移,他的理论证明是正确的。____________________________________________________
As
time
went
on,
his
theory
proved
true.
误区警示:有些连系动词从形式上看像进行时,实际上并不表示动作正在进行,而是表示“渐渐”的意思或一种感彩如:It’s
getting
dark.
天渐渐黑了。
连系动词后可接过去分词作表语,相当于被动语态
会上那一提议遭到了抵制。_____________________________________________
The
suggestion
got
countered
at
the
conference.
连系动词有延续性和非延续性的区别。表示非延续性的系动词主要有
turn,
fall,
become
他两小时前睡着了。_______________________________________
He
fell
asleep
two
hours
ago.
他已经睡了两个小时了。___________________________________
He
has
been
sleeping
for
two
hours.
为了强调表语,同时保持句子平衡,当主语是名词时,可把表语提前,引起倒装
药片是如此有效,以至于他变得很畅销。_____________________________________________________

However
wealthy
we
may
be,
we
can
never
find
enough
hours
in
the
day
to
do
everything
we
want.
Economics
deals
with
this
problem
through
the
concept
of
opportunity
cost,
which
simply
refers
to
whether
someone's
time
or
money
could
be
better
spent
on
something
else.
Every
hour
of
our
time
has
a
value.
For
every
hour
we
work
at
one
job
we
could
quite
easily
be
doing
another,
or
be
sleeping
or
watching
a
film.
Each
of
these
options
has
a
different
opportunity
cost—namely,
what
they
cost
us
in
missed
opportunities.
Say
you
intend
to
watch
a
football
match
but
the
tickets
are
expensive
and
it
will
take
you
a
couple
of
hours
to
get
to
and
from
the
stadium.
Why
not,
you
might
reason,
watch
the
game
from
home
and
use
the
leftover
money
and
time
to
have
dinner
with
friends
This—the
alternative
use
of
your
cash
and
time—is
the
opportunity
cost.
For
economists,
every
decision
is
made
by
knowledge
of
what
one
must
forgo—in
terms
of
money
and
enjoyment—in
order
to
take
it
up.
By
knowing
precisely
what
you
are
receiving
and
what
you
are
missing
out
on,
you
ought
to
be
able
to
make
better-informed,
more
reasonable
decisions.
Consider
that
most
famous
economic
rule
of
all:
there's
no
such
thing
as
a
free
lunch.
Even
if
someone
offers
to
take
you
out
to
lunch
for
free,
the
time
you
will
spend
in
the
restaurant
still
costs
you
something
in
terms
of
forgone
opportunities.
Some
people
find
the
idea
of
opportunity
cost
extremely
discouraging:
imagine
spending
your
entire
life
calculating
whether
your
time
would
be
better
spent
elsewhere
doing
something
more
profitable
or
enjoyable.
Yet,
in
a
sense
it's
human
nature
to
do
precisely
that—we
assess
the
advantages
and
disadvantages
of
decisions
all
the
time.
In
the
business
world,
a
popular
phrase
is
"value
for
money."
People
want
their
cash
to
go
as
far
as
possible.
However,
another
is
fast
obtaining
an
advantage:
"value
for
time."
The
biggest
restriction
on
our
resources
is
the
number
of
hours
we
can
devote
to
something,
so
we
look
to
maximize
the
return
we
get
on
our
investment
of
time.
