1a-2c时刻表达法在英语中,表示“几点几分”有两种方法:顺读法和逆读法。
(1)顺读法就是按照汉语习惯,先说点后说分,其结构为“点+分”。 5:10 five ten
(2)逆读法就是借助介词past和to,先说分后说点,其结构为“分钟+past/to+点”。
1)当分钟数不超过30(包括30)时,用介词past表示“几点过几分”,其结构为“分钟+past+点”。如:8:05 读作five past eight
6:10 ten past six
10:15 fifteen past ten 或a quarter past ten
9:30 half past nine
2)当分钟数大于30时,用to表示“差几分到几点”,其结构为“差的分钟+to+点”。
11:50读作 ten to twelve
9:45 a quarter to ten
7:31 twenty-nine to eight“时”在前,“分”在后,quarter, half不能有。
如果出现past, to, 我们可要看清楚;
前是“分”,后是“点”,past或to立中间;
past加,to要减,“差几分”到下个钟点。

lots of 与many, much的用法都有“许多;大量”之意,但用法不同。
1) lots of 后面可以跟可数名词也可以跟不可数名词。
e.g. He doesn’t have lots of (=many)

We have lots of (=much) work to do. 2) many与可数名词复数形式连用。
e.g. There are many apples in the basket.
篮子里有许多苹果。
3) much表数量时,只能修饰不可数名词。
e.g. We don’t have much milk.
