语从句。eg: The film that we saw last night was wonderful.定语从句所修饰的词叫先行词。定语从句作定语放在先行词后面。引导定语从句的词叫关系词。

whose)和关系副词(when,where,why)两类。关系代词或关系
副词在先行词和定语从句之间,起联系作用,同时又作定
语从句的一个成分。㈠ 关系代词的用法:① that 指物,有时也指人,在从句中作主语或
宾语。
which 指物,不指人,在从句中作主语或宾语。
注意: 关系代词在从句中作主语时不能省略,
作宾语或表语时 , 可以省略。
eg: His father works in a factory that/which makes
TV sets.The books that/which they bought were written by me.EXERCISES:1.我放在桌子上的那件大衣是黑色的。

2. 飞机是会飞的机器。

3.正在踢球的那个男孩是我的弟弟。

中作主语或宾语。eg: The girl who often helps me with my English
is from England.He knew the teacher who/that/whom we met yesterday.EXERCISES:1.我喜欢的女孩儿现在在这儿。
2 任何想通过考试的人都必须每天努力学习。The girl( who/that/whom )I like is here now.Anyone who wants to pass the exam must work hard.③whom 指人,为who的宾格形式,在句中只作宾语;前面没有介词时,可用who替换使用.eg: He is the worker (who/whom )I talked to yesterday.The doctor with whom she went to the U.S.A last month is very famous.The doctor (whom /who /that)she went to the U.S.A with last month is very famous.
④whose 是 who 的所有格,在从句中作定语,
多指人;也可指物。eg: The boys whose names were called stood up.

towards the sea.注意!在定语从句中常有介词,当介词放在从句末时,who;that;which 可省略,但是,把介词提到关系代词前,只能用介词+which/whom的结构;这时which不能用that代替,whom也不可用who代替。eg: ①The room (that/ which) I live in is very big.=The room __________I live is very big.
=The room_______ I live is very big.in whichwhere②Here are the picture—books (that/which) the
children are looking for.(不可分割)十大注意!只能that用不能用引导which的定语从句1.定语从句所修饰的词是最高级或被形容词最高级所
修饰时,只能用that引出定语从句。

2.定语从句所修饰的词是序数词或被序数词所修饰时,只能用that引出定语从句。
The children like the second lesson that is about “The football match.”This is the best that can be done now.When we talk about Wu xi,the first that comes into mind is Tai Lake.定语从句所修饰的词又被the only,the very,
the same所修饰时,只能用that引出定语从句。eg:It is the only word (that) I know in the book.4.定语从句所修饰的词又被不定代词(all,any,no,very,little,much,many,none,few…)
所修饰时,只能用that引出定语从句。eg: Here is all the money (that) I have.5. 先行词为表示物的不定代词(everything,
something,nothing…),只能用that引出定语从句。
eg: Here is everything that makes us happy.
Here is something that I will tell you.6. 定语从句所修饰的先行词中同时含有“人”和“物”的名词,
只能用that引出定语从句。
eg:I can remember well the person and some pictures
( that ) I see in the room.7.定语从句所修饰的先行词为数词(如:the one, the two…)时,用that引出定语从句。
eg: Is it the one that you want?Yesterday I caught two fish and put them in the water.Now you can see two that are still alive.8.为了避免重复,在who引出的疑问句后,用that
引出定语从句;或有两个从句,其中一个关系
代词已用which,另一个关系代词宜用that 。
eg: Who is the girl that won the first place?Edition built up a factory which produced things that had never seen before.9. 主句是There be结构,修饰其主语的定语从句
用that作关系代词。There is still a seat in the corner that is still free.That’s a good book that will help you a lot.
My home village is no longer the place (that) it used to be.10. 被修饰的成份是表语,或关系代词本身是定
语从句的表语时,该关系代词用that。
关系副词的用法:引导定语从句的词,除了关系代词外,还有关系副词,如,when,where,why… …I’ll never forget the day when I first come to Beijing.⑴ when 指时间,在定语从句中作时间状语。例如:⑵ where 指地点,在定语从句中作地.点状语。eg: This is the house where I lived two years ago.⑶why 指原因,在定语从句中作原因状语。eg: Do you know the reason why I left early?SPECIFIC EXERCISES根据句意及句子结构,用适当的关系词填空。①Everything _________ they said was true.
