Unit 3 Favourite foods of Jenny’s family
Lesson 22 It’s Jenny’s birthday
一、教学设计思路
通过学生较熟悉的Happy birthday to you歌曲导入本课，然后通过birthday party实际情景让学生学习本课与生日有关的词语表达，及生日祝福语，最后通过生日party表演，小蜡烛报年龄来巩固本课知识，并锻炼学生的实际口语交际，以便将所学知识运用到现实生活中。
二、教学目标
（一）知识
1．掌握与生日有关的词语表达：birthday party, birthday gift, birthday cake,…
2．熟悉生日祝福，邀请的表达。
（二）能力
能运用所学的知识表达生日的祝福，要求发音准确，语调自然流畅。
（三）情感
学生能及时表达对朋友和家人生日的祝福，赠送小礼物以表心意，不铺张浪费。
三、教学重点
1. 与生日有关的词组：
birthday cake 生日蛋糕 birthday candle 生日蜡烛
birthday present 生日礼物 birthday party 生日晚会
2. 生日祝福语：Happy birthday to you!
四、教学媒体
电脑课件（录音机、磁带）、教学图片、生日聚会所需的道具（生日蛋糕、蜡烛、礼物、装饰物）。
五、教学过程
1．导入
播放歌曲 “Happy birthday to you.” 让学生跟唱。教师置疑：
Do you know this song What is it
Are you familiar with this song
Have you ever sung the song
Who would like to sing it for us
When do we usually sing the song
可以让学生用汉语回答。
2．呈现新课
（1）教师将准备好的生日聚会道具一一呈现：
What is it （边呈现边问）
Would you like to know how to call them in English
It is a birthday cake. （播放birthday cake录音，让学生反复跟读）
Wow, it’s delicious. Isn’t it Would you like to eat
What is it
Yes. It is a birthday gift. How beautiful it is! （播放birthday gift e录音，让学生反复跟读）
Now, we have the birthday cake, and everyone has their birthday gifts for Jenny. Oh, where is Jenny？（扮演Jenny的学生慢跑到教师前面） “I’m here.”
Ok. It’s time for Jenny’s birthday party. Everyone come here. （播放birthday party e录音，让学生反复跟读）
Let’s start our party. This is the present for Jenny. Happy birthday, Jenny! （简单介绍，告诉同学们present是礼物的另一种表达方式。）
然后让大家都模仿大家送给Jenny礼物，Jenny打开大家送的礼物，送礼物的人将生日卡片上祝福的话读给大家听。（这里告诉学生西方人习惯将礼物立即打开，并不是等客人走后才打开。）
（2）播放part1 Jenny’s party, 让学生跟读并模仿表演。

What is the difference / What is the same
What does Jenny say when she invites Li Ming to her birthday party
Does anybody remember what Li Ming said to Jenny when she told him it was her birthday （如果学生对较复杂的句子理解上有困难，教师可以用汉语重复一遍帮助学生理解。）
Explain: Happy birthday is the standard response on some one’s birthday.
（3）播放 Part2 Let’s read a story，播放两边，让学生完成学生手册fill-in-blank，看学生是否理解。
（4）扩展性知识：（见文本资源）
①12个月及其来历。
②12生肖
④送礼物及接受礼物用语。
3．趣味操练
（1）生日Party表演，。
（2）小蜡烛说年龄：
找十个学生分别带上蜡烛的头饰，扮演十支小蜡烛。他们从一支小蜡烛变成十支小蜡烛，边跳边说 “I am one/two…” 每支蜡烛代表一岁，下面的同学跟着他们一起说。
（3）学生展示自己制作的生日礼物及生日卡，对于做得好的学生可给予表扬或奖励。如果条件允许，给他们的作品拍照，有机会可以展览。
（4）扩展性活动
教师把学生带到室外，做击球说年龄的游戏。将学生分为3—4组，每组围成一个圈，每圈的学生分一个气球，学生做击球活动，当教师大声问道：How old are you 手中拿到球的学生则回答问题 I’m… 。
4．课堂评价
对学生在party中的表现，及亲手制作的生日卡片进行评价。
5．学以致用
让学生自由为父母或好友画一张生日贺卡或画一张慰问卡。
