Unit 1 word power involves a dialogue that shows some examples of how adjectives are used to describe people’s personalities, the instructions to positive adjectives and negative ones, synonyms and antonyms, a letter to Han Fang with 8 blanks which students should choose proper adjectives to fill in and in the end, an exercise to ask students to write as many adjectives as possible, including negative ones and positive ones. First, I’ll ask students three questions to arouse the related knowledge in their mind. Then teach more adjectives, including positive ones and negative ones and consolidate students’ knowledge through a competition. Also, students will learn synonyms and antonyms through comparing several groups of interesting pictures. They can finish the exercises to consolidate synonyms and antonyms. At last, I’ll ask students to finish a questionnaire about their friend which will help them describe their friends later on. In this period, I'll use task-based and cooperative teaching approaches to enlarge students’ vocabulary and make them describe their friends.

Feedback
Mine
In general, 90% drafted teaching aims have been fulfilled. In terms of language and knowledge, my students have learned more adjectives to describe personality, familiarized themselves with positive adjectives and negative ones, got some achievements in understanding synonyms and antonyms. In the aspect of culture and morals, students have also got to know the importance of developing positive personalities. Most of the students have actively participated in the process of learning. To my delight, my students showed extraordinary interest in the pictures with sentences and competition. They tried their best to remember related adjectives and take part in the class activities. On the whole, the teaching plans have worked out well, mostly due to the focus on students’ needs. I’ll always bear it in mind that students’ needs are the base of teaching. However, while describing their good friends, some students couldn’t express their idea fluently. As for speaking, I may need to give the students’ more chances to practice, and make sure to improve their oral English and increase their confidence in learning English.
