以There are some stone animals in Beijing.(北京的一个地方有许多石头动物)引出课题Module 8 Unit 1和对话的主题The Ming Tombs(明十三陵)。利用长沙市已有的著名景点黄兴墓和蔡锷墓,学习新单词tomb(坟墓)。
第四步、新授(Step 4 Presentation)
1. Listen and understand CD-Rom
1) Listen to the dialogue, then try to answer Question 1.

2) Listen again, then answer Question 2.
What are they?
(There is a lion. There is a camel.

听、指课文两遍,依次回答两个简单的问题How many stone animals are there?和What are they?帮助孩子们抓住对话的中心内容,理解课文的大意。

在学生回答完有关“石头动物”的内容之后,屏幕上出现“怪物史瑞克”的照片并伴随恐怖的声音,教师大喊“Ah! A scary animal!
Help! Help!”,营造比较真实的受到惊吓情景。而后,让几个学生轮流戴上怪物面具,其他学生表演受到惊吓的样子,全班的孩子都乐于参与这样的活动。
3、Learn the new dialogue.
1) Listen , point and repeat the dialogue after the CD-Rom twice.
2) Read the words, find the corresponding sentences in the dialogue, then read the sencences, please.
