二、教学设计
【教材分析】
语言功能:能够谈论现在和过去所具备和不具备的能力。
语言结构: She was blind. So she couldn’t see.
She was deaf. So she couldn’t hear.
But she could learn.
教学目标:
a.语言知识目标:学习目标语句 She was blind. So she couldn’t see.
She was deaf. So she couldn’t hear. But she could learn.
b.语言技能目标:在完成知识目标的基础上,通过游戏和阅读比赛活动的开展,培养学生的合作能力、竞争意识和综合运用语言知识的能力。
c.情感态度目标:通过学习Helen Keller这位世界上著名身残志坚有志之人的优秀事迹,让学生学有所得,学有所悟,希望她的精神能激励和教育我们的学生在任何时候遇到艰难永不退缩。
教学重、难点:
重点:学生能够用“could,couldn’t”来描述过去所具备和不具备的能力。
难点:学生能够流利地使用正确时态来描述自己的能力,能够复述Helen Keller的伟大事迹。
【学生分析】
在六年级学段,大部分学生对英语的学习积极性浓厚,基础知识扎实,学习方法得当,综合运用能力的能力较强;有少部分学生还是没有找到合适的方法,学英语仍旧吃力,针对此种情况,教师应充满耐心,精心备课,在教学中多鼓励他们,帮助他们建立学好英语的自信心。

【教学过程】
1. Warm-up (热身活动)
1. Magic eye :review some verb phrases.
【设计意图】:(在上课伊始,教师引导学生复习以前学过的动词词组,为第二部分 I say you do的游戏做准备。)
2.Game: I say you do.
【设计意图】通过TPR活动,充分调动学生积极性,同时感受正常人能从事的活动。
3.T: Boys and girls, you can run, you can jump, you can play basketball. But could you run when you was a baby
Look, who is she in this picture
[S who in the picture stand up. ]
T: Could you run when you was a baby Could you eat
S:No, I couldn’t./ Yes, I could. (板书:couldn’t could)
T: Can you run when you is a girl /can you run fast
S: Yes, I can./ No,I can’t. (板书:can/can’t)
【设计意图】通过学生自己小时候与现在能做事情的对比,感受变化,同时引出本科重点动词。
2. Presentation (介绍新语言项目)
1.Game 1: Blind drawing game.
T: Next, let's play a game, the name is Blind drawing game. Look, this is eye-shade. now I want two students come to the front and draw a picture on the blackboard. One is wear this eye-shade, another doesn’t wear. Other Ss are judges.Let’s see who can draw better.
T: Who’d like to come here
S: Volunteer to come to the blackboard.
T: [问戴着眼罩的同学]Can you see me
S: No.
T: she can’t see now, she is blind. (教授并带读blind.)
T: Are you ready Draw a big round face, two small eyes, a big nose, a big mouth and two big ears.
S: Draw a picture.
T: All right please take off your eye-shade, let’s see your pictures. Which one is better I thik it is very difficult to draw when you are blind,right
【设计意图】:通过一个简单的教学游戏一:Blind drawing game,让学生初步亲身感觉到当一个盲人的不便,为了下面介绍Helen Keller做了铺垫。
2、Game2:
T: Ok, this time,I want all the Ss close your eyes and block your ears please.You can’t open your eyes and take your hands away until I beat the desk loudly,clear (所有的同学不能睁开眼睛或手离开耳朵知道我大声敲击桌子。)
T: 提出指令:Stand up. Look, a beautiful doll and a toy with music.
T: Thank you. (用非常夸张的大声说)Please take off your eye-shades and we can hear again. Did you hear what I said just now, did you see my beautiful doll (课件)
S: No.
T: We call those people who can’t hear are deaf. (教授并带读blind.)
Then what kind of feeling did you have when you couldn’t see and hear just now
S: Tell their feeling
【设计意图】:通过一个简单的教学游戏二,让学生初步亲身感觉到当一个聋哑人的不便,为了下面介绍Helen Keller做了铺垫。
3. Introduction.
T: We only couldn’t see and hear just now for a while, and felt hard to do things, can you imagine a lady who couldn’t see, couldn’t hear and even couldn’t talk for almost the whole life Do you want to know whom she was
S: Yes.
T: All right, look,she is Helen Keller, she is a great woman,she did many useful things

三.New teaching (课文教学)
1.Listen and answer.
T: Today we are going to learn a story about Helen Keller, please listen carefully and try to answer my questions:

2).Was she blind
3).Was she deaf
T play the tape of the story and Ss answer the questions.
【设计意图】:作为六年级学生要多练听力,所以先让学生听一遍;然后,再让学生边看边听一遍,回答之前提出的问题,这样有助于对课文的初步理解。
2.、教师用课件出示本课的动词原型、过去式。
T: Boys and girls, there are some verbs usd in the past tense, can you tell me what are their present tense
was---is could---can tried---try learned----learn went---go
helped---help said---say wrote---write
【设计意图】:复习过去式,使学生很快进入角色。(将learn --- learned learnt告诉学生)
3. Listen to the tape for the second time and undeline the sentences with “couldn’t, could.” Ask Ss answer.

4. Look and Listen:
【设计意图】:在对这篇课文进行一段一段的精讲,让学生真正明白课文中的意思,做为对阅读训练的一个方法,使学生很快抓住课文的重点。并讲清楚在写人物时的几个基本点。

【设计意图】:对课文第一段进行讲解,并及时提问:When was Helen Keller born Where was Helen Keller born 有助于学生理解课文。
2)、Learn the text: The part 2
【设计意图】:对课文第二段进行讲解,并及时提问:What did she learn to do 让学生先在书中找到,并划下来,在回答。
3)、Learn the text: The part 3
【设计意图】:对课文第三段进行讲解,并及时提问:What did she say in the text Why was she famous 让学生先在书中找到,并划下来,在回答。
4)、 Read: What did she say in the text
【设计意图】:让学生做找一遍这句话,并大声的读出来,有助于理解全篇课文。
5. T: boys and girls, even Hellen keller couldn’t see, couldn’t hear and talk. But she did many useful things. Can you find what did she do

4. Practice(练习)
1. Tell stories
T: I know you have taken your photos here. Can you introduce something about that with “I was…, so I couldn’t… But I could…” [CAI]
S: 学生拿出自己小时候的照片用该句型介绍。
2. T: 出示名人照片---中国著名的舞蹈家邰丽华,外国著名钢琴家贝多芬,让学生用该句型介绍,同时播放“感恩的心”音乐。
【设计意图】:通过这些事例激励学生要像Helen Keller、邰丽华、贝多芬一样意志坚强,弃而不舍,关爱他人,同时珍惜现在的幸福生活,并学会感恩.
5. Summary and homework (小结和作业)
T: Dear students, compare with Helen Keller, how happy and lucky we are! I think we should cherish what we have and do more useful things, let’s remember. "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it." (出示课件显示该句子,伴随着“感恩的心”音乐)。Let’s read it together, ok

课后反思
文先通过学生自己的照片提起学生的兴趣,让学生用I can…/I can’t…句型进行描述自己会做什么,让学生充分体验到自己是个正常人所以会做很多事情,在放残疾人的照片,使其成为了鲜明的对比,让学生先从心灵上受到了第一次的震撼;并通过两个小游戏让学生用心去体会作为一个残疾人是多么的不容易。学习新课文,通过学习使学生明白海伦·凯勒虽然是个又聋、又盲、又哑但仍然对生活充满了热情,坚持学习、坚持写作、乐于助人……学生被她的这种精神深深的打动了,心灵上又一次受到了震撼;在仿写作文时发现学生已经会机模仿这篇课文,而且写了4句、有的则写了5句,例如:Beethoven was born in 1770 in German.He likes music.He was deaf.He was famous. 但有的学生将likes的“s”忘了应加以巩固,有的学生还写了:“He was very sad.” 和“ He couldn’t hear.”但这篇是在上课时写的作文,学生写成这样已经达到了预期的效果。经过这节课,让学生知道其实这些事情就发生在我们的身边,让学生更加珍惜现在的幸福生活,并学习他们勇于像命运挑战的精神,告诉他们要做一个生活的强者.
