本单元主要是让学生了解如何用英语来询问和表述身高、体重，并通过人物之间的比较让学生自让而然的了解形容词的比较级和最高级，能够比较人物的身高和体重。本单元的内容相对独立，和前后单元联系不大，但却比较重要，在日常对话中经常会用到。
学情分析
由于本节内容句型和课文稍有难度，为了符合学生的认知规律，本节课是在教授了单词之后来进行的。为了让学生在积极主动中轻松的掌握本节课的内容，我用了创设情景，愉快教学，举例，小组合作等教学手法。
教学目标
技能目标1、能够在实际情景中询问他人有关身高和体重的问题. 2、能够比较人物的身高和体重。
知识目标
1、词汇：能够掌握并运用以下词汇kilogram centimeter
height weight Weigh measure以及short long small big tall heavy old young fat thin的比较级和最高级
2句型：how tall is ken？ken is 147 centimeters。
How heavy is ken？he weighs 33 kilograms。
Who is the oldest？ken is the oldest。
Who is taller\younger？
John is taller than peter。
3语法：能够熟悉形容词的比较级和最高级的变化规律并初步运用。
情感态度目标：
引导学生关注自己的身高、体重等健康因素，形成良好的生活习惯。

教学过程
1、热身环节，复习巩固
a、let’s chant
让学生边做手势，边复习形容词的比较级和最高级。
如，big biger biggest long longer longest b、复习所有句型对话
2、谈话引出句型，创设情境
问生：Did you check your weight and height？
生答：Yes，I did。
师：I check my weight and height，too。For example：I
weigh 50 kilogames。I am 159 centimeters tall。
Now ，who can tell me your
weight and height？
生1，生2，生3.。。。。
师问：can you ask my weight and height in English？
生答：No，I can’t。
师：Now，I ask your
weight and height。How tall are you？边说边板书。
生答：I am。。。。。师板书。
师问：how much do you weigh？师板书
生答：I weigh。。。。kilograms。
同桌一组，练习对话，问问答答。
找三名同学到讲台前练习对话。写出他们的身高，引出句型：
Who is taller？
Liuxing is taller than xiaoyu。
Who is the oldest？DingHao is the oldest。
