Step 1. Lead in 1. The teacher shows one or more of his/her own objects, such as a cap and two pens to ask students. For example:(1).T: What’s this S1:It’s a cap. T: Yes. It’s my cap. They’re mine.Teach and ask the students to master the new word “mine”.Write down “mine=my +cap/pens…” on the blackboard with colored chalks.Pair work. PresentationListen to 1a and answer the question: Whose cap is it It’s Sally’s. It’s her cap. It’s hers. New words: whose,then. Sally’s: the possesive form of nouns.Listen to 1a and follow the tape to practice the pronunciation and intonation. Finish 1a.Pair work. Make a dialogue according to 1a. Finish 1Put up the pictures on the blackboard to practice the possessive pronouns. Show plural objects and says: These are A and B’s… They’re their… They’re theirs.Listen to 2a and follow the tape to practice the pronunciation and intonation.Step 3. ConsolidationWork in pairs. Practice the conversation with some other clothes or school things. Act them out in front of the class. Finish 2a.Write down new sentences according to the examples in 2b.
